Stamps are like the Atlanta Braves of the 90s and 00s.  All those division titles and so few championships to show for it.

The Stamps are this decade's version of the Als from the 2000's

    2010 13-5    Lost West Final

    2011 11-7    Lost West Semi

    2012 12-6    Lost Grey Cup

    2013 14-4    Lost West Final

    2014 15-3    Won Grey Cup

    2015 14-4    Lost West Final

    2016 15-2-1 Lost Grey Cup

Interesting that the last 7 Grey Cups have been won by 7 different teams.

Looks like the 1st. overall is ours.....our second will be decided tonight with the result of the BC game.... It'll be one position in the draft either way....BUT any way you look at it we are gold in the 17' draft....Walters and company have got us in a position to get some quality canucks.

Isn't the Bombers pick position dependent on how they do in the playoffs?

They should sit McDuffie and Flanders...although I think it would be good to get Flanders on.  Our DL has stunk since they went to dressing 6 rather than 7.  Hard to believe we hold a roster spot for a guy who basically just returns kickoffs when other areas of our roster are struggling.

Harris needs 86 yards to reach 1000 yards rushing. Hopefully he gets off to a great start, gets to a 1000 and then they sit him for Flanders.

Haven't heard it mentioned yet but Justin Medlock now has 48 field goals this year, breaking Troy Westwood's 1992 single season record of 47.

And with 3 games left he needs 12 more to set a new CFL record.

It's an interesting side story to watch these next few weeks.

One thing to keep in mind though is Paredes is 50-56 for FGs so he has the inside track for the season record.

Interesting to note that although Paredes' FG percentage (50-56) his better than Madlock (48-56), Madlock is  27-27 for converts while Paredes is 27-34.

Madlock is perfect for all his FGs inside the 40 (30-30).

Remember when players would leave the Bombers, go to other teams a talk out the positive culture of the new team they were on, it's nice that players coming here have a positive spin on whats going on with the Bombers both on the field and in the locker room.

Yeah, I 'member when Obby went to Calgary he couldn't stop talking about how awesome the Stamps were and the fact that the Bombers didn't have food for the players.

Cal. seemed to march at will when they needed to......Crappy outcome ...but we can't hang our heads after that one...I thought O'Shea should have challenged that last catch by Cal. that put them in the position to win it...nothing to lose at that point except the game.

I believe in the last 3 minutes teams can only challenge PI calls.  If O'Shea threw a flag he would have received a delay of game penalty and the kick would have been even shorter.

Don't read too much into this. By tomorrow Jones might switch the D for the O in its entirety..... #thatshowjonesrolls

Yeah, there's been at least 4 games now that Jones has made changes to the depth chart after submitting one 24 hours before the game.

Teams need permission for any late changes to the 46 man. Hopefully the next time he asks to make a change the league says no.

With all the discussion revolving around the Drew and Matt show, somehow Walters has managed to sneak in this under the SMS

    ROSTER                                   02-Sep-16
WPG ADD  INT Stanley BRYANT (OL)    East Carolina – New Contract
WPG ADD  INT Justin MEDLOCK (K)    UCLA – New Contract

    CFL Transactions

Where did u find this by the way? Useful info, the CFL site doesn't list new contract deals like this.

Since my terrible explanations of salary cap management in the other thread don't be seem to be helping anyone, let me try again here. You convert base pay to a "signing bonus" for signing a new contract. Signing bonuses are prorated over the length of the contract, whereas base pay counts only to this year. So these guys took, say, a $10000 pay cut this year, but got a $15000 signing bonus for signing a new contract. So lets say it's a 2 year restructured contract, so the bonus counts as $7500 each year, effectively lowering the  players cap hit by $2500, while they get an extra $5000 today. I hope this helps. Again, this is works in the NFL, I have no idea if the CFL does this.

Yeah, maybe Bryant and Medlock were team players and helped out the team with a win-win scenario.

For example, Bryant and Medlock could have restructured their deals and are taking 50 000 less in base salary for a 40 000 signing bonus that counts this year.

Walters saves 20 000 total for this year's SMS and the players get a signing bonus which is taxed at 15% so they end up with more take home pay.
