I would almost guarantee that it's either Jones or Mack that would go after a guy like this because "NFL players are automatically far better than CFL players"....

I could check later but I wouldn't doubt this guy played with Vince Young. Interesting that he was contacted around the same time Young was.

Maybe Jones finds players by looking at old NFL almanacs.

Or the fancy new one in garden City

Can they put turf down at the Convention Centre or Mts Centre for some of the combine events? Is that what they did in Regina?

The Soccer Complex at the U of M would work for the combine itself but there is nothing near by for all the other events that now make up CFL Week.

  3. CFL heading in right direction to get calls right while improving player safety

REGINA - Improve player safety, coaches’ challenges and the role of the eye-in-the-sky official, while at the same time cutting down on penalties and trying not to interrupt the flow of the game. This is the task at hand for the 12-person rules committee as it meets to kick off CFL Week in the Saskatchewan capital.

According to Friesen other then the Denmark offer Walters is done.

#Bombers GM Kyle Walters says he's not actively pursuing any other free agents; has a standing offer still on table for Clarence Denmark.

    Edit:

I should have known better, if you listen to Walters press conference today Friesen completely twists Walters words, in fact Walters states "that we're not done" and he has offers that are still out there.

Here is the full interview, the Friesen bit starts around 1:20.

Yeah, Friesen is is quick to post anything with a negative Bomber slant to it.

I thought I saw a tweet from him earlier today that indicated Bass and Denmark were both gone as Bombers - he has since deleted it.

Could it be possible that Costello will be promoted to the OL coach & they're hiring someone who will assist him? If that's the case January is not a bad choice.

I still would like them to bring Jonathan Himebauch.

I could see Costello being promoted and Keeping becoming the Oline assistant. O'Shea seems to have a lot of respect for him.

When Keeping was injured O'Shea pointed out how Keeping was a leader and was eager to help out the other guys.

I'm just wondering if the CFL can handle its ADD enough to be able to keep the same rules for 2 consecutive years.

I agree and I wish the CFL was in a position to pump the brakes on all the rule changes. Maybe the players would be able to adapt to the rules if they aren't changing every year.

However, if there are going to be some tweaks I'd like to see them getting away from the fishing expeditions. Coaches shouldn't be able to challenge an infraction that occurs away from the ball. If the officials missed it during live action then too bad.

If the league is dead set on making changes then the rule I'd like them to get rid of is the push out rule. Players should have at least one foot in bounds for it to be deemed a catch. The game has swung too much in favour of receivers. I'd like to see Loffler knock a player out of bounds to nullify a catch.

BTW, Hardrick was originally from BC.

Sure, and he also played for the Riders.

But, the Bomber staff recognized Hardrick's potential and didn't dismiss him as another failed talent. They got him to lose 20 pounds so that he'd be more mobile and look what happened.

To me that's a strike against the Lions and Riders if anything.

Stamps are like the Atlanta Braves of the 90s and 00s.  All those division titles and so few championships to show for it.

The Stamps are this decade's version of the Als from the 2000's

    2010 13-5    Lost West Final

    2011 11-7    Lost West Semi

    2012 12-6    Lost Grey Cup

    2013 14-4    Lost West Final

    2014 15-3    Won Grey Cup

    2015 14-4    Lost West Final

Interesting that the last 7 Grey Cups have been won by 7 different teams.
