Exactly the guy is 33. When he was 27 he was one of the best qbs in the CFL. Like you say he had a strong arm & could run. He was one of the best in his prime. I agree with Noeller. Even at 33, if he played for the Bombers, we'd have a winning record & a playoff spot at the end of the season.
At this moment, looking at the different CFL teams I'd still take Durant over Kevin Glenn & Ricky Ray.

I have to defend Durant a little here too. The argument that he played well under a great o line doesn't cut it. What QB has played well under a bad  O - line? Some of you may remember a younger Tom Clements in Saskatchewan years ago. They had a bad O line and he looked bad too. Calvillo all thoses years in Montreal had probably the best line in the league. My point? An average qb and a great Qb BOTH need a good O- line to succeed - and Durant, at times, in my opinion, has been a great QB in this league

Anyone else becoming disllusioned with the state of the CFL on the field with all the penalties, challenge flags & lame PI rules? ALL of this is killing the CFL in the stands & in the ratings.

I couldn't understand why I was being singled out for a story by Drew Edwards so thanks for explaining yourself. I want every stadium to be packed & ratings thru the roof. I want the CFL to be successful. Seeing BMO Field being half empty is depressing.

Quite alright, KBF. The reason I said I believe I flew  CP Air was because I liked the look of their planes (logo on the tail, etc) back then plus they advertised heavily on CBC & CTV being a major sponsor of CFL games. That & the fact the Air Canada overhaul base was moved from Winnipeg to Montreal in 1968. It hurt Winnipeg's economy & Winnipeggers still had very bad feelings back then that Pierre Elliott Trudeau screwed us & the West when the announcement was made to great fanfare in Quebec & shock in Winnipeg. It would have made sense for me back then to fly CP Air just to say stick it, Air Canada.

I'm no Rider fan as you all know but Durant is a proven winner in this league & deserves his due. He beat Calgary twice in the Western Final. Right now, Durant could start on most teams with the exception of Edmonton, Hamilton & Calgary.

Hard to know how good Durant is anymore. Who's going to look good behind the Riders' jokey OL? 
I bet if you put him behind Calgary's OL he'd be solid.

yeah I realized it was kind of silly to ask you that question given the time that has past, but thanks for humoring me anyway.  I'm an aviation buff, so like to hear stories about old planes.

You remember that trade? Man, I'm truly impressed. It was the day after Labour Day in Regina, Sept, 1974. I flew out for that game & went to see it with my cousin who lived at that time in Regina. I happened to have the same flight back with the Bombers to Winnipeg as I had to work the next day.
The best thing I remember about that flight was Bombers OG Tufuuli Uperesa was flirting with a flight attendant & putting his hands where they shouldn't have been. (I actually saw him touch her ass). He ordered a drink & she brought it to him. She "accidentally" spilled the drink all over him & he became enraged. However, immediately when he saw his teammates howling with laughter he settled right down & started laughing himself. Score one for the flight attendant. You go, girl!
Story was GM Earl Lunsford had consummated the Jonas for Ealey trade on the plane or before & told him as he was getting off. (I don't know if that was true or not, just what I had heard). The 2 teams announced the trade the day after the game on Tuesday.  The game was played on the Monday instead of Sunday back then, IIRC.
At least Jonas went out a winner for the Bombers defeating the Riders in the Labour Day game which doesn't happen often these days.

I posted what Drew Edwards said in his story that ratings on TSN have been down the past 2 seasons & that was the reason for the mic'd up game yesterday to try to get a hit in the ratings. I did it because I subscribe to 3 Down Nation & I read it on the weekend. So, why do you feel the need to come after me? Instead if you don't agree then why don't you prove that Edwards is wrong & you're right? That ratings are up instead of down. Show me how Edwards who has all kinds of CFL contacts with TSN, in the CFL head office, team management, coaches & players all across the league is wrong. I just posted the story as I thought it was timely in explaining why the game was mic'd.

Pretty scary to think that Junior could be our PM into his 60's. Especially if the Conservatives elect Maxime Bernier or any of the other non descript leadership candidates that served under Harper who seem to be reluctantly crawling out of the woodwork to sniff the air whether they should run..

Trudeau will probably have a reign like his dad's, where it's interrupted by periods where he's the minority leader, or like for those glorious 9 months in 1979 - 80 when Pierre had to sit there plotting and fuming in Opposition.  But as long as JT can continue to convince people that $30 billion deficits are the new normal and totally cool then he probably will be at the top for a long time.  Quite a difference from a year ago when he couldn't seem to get his feet out of his mouth. 

Love that someone's calling out Brandon Banks for being a *****. I love to see guys who you just know are cocky assholes get called down by their (sort of) peers...
