Trudeau at this point is just an actor. He says a lot of things people like to hear but I haven't seen any substance from him yet. Lots of talk but few actual solutions being presented.

Trotz also likely comes with the former Nashville goalie coach and the preds in addition to being a defense factory also churned out goalies like no ones business so maybe he could have gotten Fleury to be more consistent. Somewhere along the way Trotz has picked up the reputation that he can't coach offensive players, not sure why or how but it's ridiculous. That man is a great coach. You don't stay in one place as long as he did without being one.

Young guys, in and of themselves, aren't necessarily a bad thing .. it's the fact we lacked a bridge or solid leadership presence which ultimately exposed this team .. I mean .. those young guys performed quite well when Richard Harris was still still with us .. he was that steadying rock .. without that .. those young guys looked lost. if your players are young it falls on the coaches to provide that leadership and sad to say Burke was an utter failure leading anything.

This is the most important part for the players to actually remember. If Young and Wetenhall decide they are tired of losing money Braley can't buy every team. The CFL is in a good spot now but it's hardly as stable as all that. TSN decides that they want to save money and not pay up big for the next TV deal where does that leave the league? Wasn't that long ago the Bombers and Riders were on life support, they still have a hell of a time finding owners for the Argos and we're really not far removed from a goof like feterik owning the stamps. Things look stable now but it doesn't take much to make that all start to fall apart.

It's nothing against Ford, just that I don't like that type of back as your featured guy. I prefer someone who can do some harder running if need be. As a backup and change of pace guy I like Ford but as a full time starter it's too inconsistent.

Lucky for him CFL coaches are all experienced in teaching players who've never played by CFL rules how to do it. Is it any different than an american coming in and having to learn?

All you have to do to deal with a guy like Lucic saying that in the handshake line is wish him a good summer and tell him that you hope he gets in some good golf games. He's a sore loser, nothing hurts more than reminding him that he lost.

I'll say this about Kyle Walters, if there's someone he wants he'll go out and get that person. As long as he's correct in his assessment of that player that can be a good attribute for a GM to have.

Because when you're the best player in the world the bar is simply set higher. I agree that the way that team is built is flawed. Letang is a good offensive defenseman, but they really do need someone better in their 1D slot, someone who you can rely on to settle things down if need be and Letang just isn't good enough defensively. Perhaps some of their younger prospects can get there but they ain't there yet. Crosby and Malkin at centre is great, but they still need some wingers who are worth a damn for them to play with.

come on now, Mack moved up in the draft as well and he wasn't afraid to go and get the player he wanted in the draft either. I swear some of you just make **** up all the time. The difference here is that Walters is going more by the book, remains to be seen if that's the correct strategy or not.

See it's attitudes like this that lead to people saying all kinds of stupid ****. Just because people are allowed to think whatever they want doesn't mean everyones opinion is correct or valid. It's true, even Don Cherry points out how over the top it is and he's about as big a "suck it up" guy as there is. That being said the days of having an enforcer play with your star player are over so I think the best course of action is put someone else on Crosbys wing that can do damage on their own and give teams someone else to worry about out there.

Crosby takes a lot of **** on the ice and it can get to him. He needs some better support because if he gets frustrated by what is happening on ice then he can't be expected to carry a couple stiffs all over the ice. Or just get someone on his line who will take care of the people taking pot shots at the guy.

my understanding is that he traded 2 third round picks for the 2nd (was out last night and too lazy to go back and track down the trade exactly) and if that's the case why the hell would anyone complain? If they like the player they can get with the 2nd round pick that much then good move by the GM to get it done.

Since he believes in what the Bible says, is it WRONG for him to claim what his beliefs is teaching him ? Don't get me wrong: I'm not defending Price here. Trouble is the bible is full of contradictions which is why any reasonable Christian will remember one simple thing about their religion... they are followers of Christs teachings so if there's a contradiction in the Bible then the default question should be what would Jesus do? what we have is 3 parties fighting for the middle ground, much better than 2 parties making nonsensical issues the focus to try and woo fringe groups.
