A weak link on the OL is a significantly bigger problem than one on the dl. and quite frankly based on preseason I think the offense will be doing more to keep us in games this year than the D anyway. I know that's a strange thought for bomber fans to wrap their heads around but it might be true...

IE. O'Shea was not happy with Halls int at the end. I finally got around to watching the game and yikes that was a poor decision to make. Eat the sack there and they might win the game. I'm glad that you are finally seeing how mediocre Hall truly is. So please no more comparisons to Ricky Ray and dropping passes into the receivers hands. Halls noodle arm and stone legs simply won't cut it. that's an interesting take on what I said.... quite frankly I think Hall looked OK until that int. I didn't see a whole lot from Brohm that would put him ahead at this point other than the fact that the int was just a brain fart and Brohm didn't make any of those this game so to me Hall is still the #2 guy but I think O'Shea is not happy with losing that game and rightly so, they gave the game away with dropped passes and sloppy tackling and other assorted mistakes.

Canadian vs import. Crappy vs exceptional. Start a Canadian somewhere else. where? CFL rosters are always built by slotting in your top canadians then filling imports around them and given the injuries we've had Thomas is one of the best we have. I personally think we would be better off with 6 on offence and one at field corner again, where? 3 receivers? So that if we have a guy get hurt we're using the scrapings of the league to field enough guys? On the OL so our qbs can get hammered game in and game out again and god help them if there is an injury there? RB? We don't have a good enough RB to do that....

My concern with the D at this point is how shoddy the tackling has been. They gave up a lot of extra yards simply by missing tackles.

I am starting to get really excited for that Drew Willy might do this year. He looked really really good in the Calgary game and if his receivers didn't have stone hands he likely puts up a ton more points and likely wins the game in the first half.

Cotton has been one of the most impressive players on the team in the preseason games, if he wasn't starting the year I'd seriously question the coaches here. Guy looks like a very dangerous player.

Have you actually heard any of this, or is that just you making stuff up about Rider fans? I'm not so sure I believe this. I watched it happen. Going to university in Brandon and then moving to Calgary I knew a lot of people from Saskatchewan and I watched almost every single one of them become a "huge rider fan" starting in about 2003 when I knew damned well they didn't know the first thing about football.

I said in the offseason and it's still valid if you ask me, as long as I see a team that battles all game long and never gives up it's a step in the right direction. Got so tired last year of seeing the team face the slightest bit of adversity and just roll over and die. Give me a reason to watch the whole game.

All's i know is this group is oodles better than the QBacking crew we had around last year. we say that every year. there's still a lot to be proven before we get too excited. I think the big difference is that this year they'll be getting better coaching which should make everyone look better. No, I'm not getting excited….just stating a fact. A highly subjective fact... The gong show that was our coaching staff last year made a hell of a lot of players look a hell of a lot worse than they were. Every preseason we get amped up about the qbs preseason performances, I need to see it translate into the regular season before making sweeping statements about the quality from one year to the next.

Exactly. We all thought Stubler was coming here & everyone was excited. Then when that didn't happen, we get Etcheverry. And everything that comes with the guy. Thud!! it's not even that Stubler didn't come here. It's just that Etch is a known commodity and I didn't like his defenses in previous stops so I didn't want him here. I'd have rather given an unknown a shot than go with a guy who I know I don't like.

The problem with the rider fan base in general is that they're mostly band wagon jumpers at this point. TSN started jerking off the die hards and all of a sudden everyone from that god forsaken province jumped on the bandwagon and started pretending to be super fans. It sickens me. For what it's worth Bomber fans are a better fan base than rider fans are, we've put up with so much **** and still turn out big crowds, give the riders that kind of **** show and watch them start holding telethons to fund raise for the team again.

I agree with you, I see it being Willy, Hall and Brohm to start the season with Marve being the development guy. Now as the season goes on it might change depending on what happens but to start I don't expect the depth chart to really change.
