Oh there's nothing wrong with having a woman doing the job, but for fucks sake hire one that can do the job well! You can't tell me there isn't a better option out there somewhere, or maybe even send her for some kind of training if we have to suffer through her. I just can't stand her commentary because it is just totally empty and devoid of anything worth listening to.
-
but if I ignore people who will I argue with?
-
but 1 guy in 4 seasons? Gotta be better than that.
-
I am just saying we need to make the right decision here. It does no good to offer up Ritchie Hall as a sacrifice if the player recruitment is still lacking, and there is some evidence all over the team that suggests they are hit and miss at finding players and building a roster.
-
Cassie Campbell is a terrible commentator and it has nothing to do with her gender or how high a level of hockey she did or did not play, she is just horrible. She never says anything even close to insightful and she's about as exciting as dry toast to listen to. It's monotone cliches and bland forced excitement. She has that gig solely because someone in a high up position decided they needed a woman in the position. She's just so bad at the job.
-
All the talk about FA receivers, how about Kyle Walters does his ******* job and find some guys who can play the position and supplement the guys we do have, just like every other GM in the league manages to do.
-
Is it him though? The defensive backfield has been a revolving door outside of Randall and Leggett, as has the defensive line outside of Westerman.... Come to think of it the other 2 linebackers have had tons of changes too. Perhaps the big problem is that this team can't settle on players on D?
-
Implying that our coaching staff doesn't have legitimacy already? I mean for **** sakes both Lapo and Hall have been head coaches in this league! Not like the Bombers have a bunch of nobodies coaching them.
-
I would say maybe just Daredevil season 2 since it introduces Frank in the universe, but this series really felt disconnected from everything else in the netflix universe.
-
Hell we don't even have to bring up the Bombers, Montreal has been a qb away since Calvillo retired. All those years to have a succession plan and they didn't do anything about it and now look at them. Totally squandered a real stable environment and now it's gonna be that much tougher.
-
I'd think our guys can be better than Danny Barrety and Roy Shivers, for one thing our guys aren't trying to pretend that Nealon Greene can be a qb.
-
Loved it. Soon as I turned it on and saw it was snowing I knew it'd be a fun game. Came down to the final play, all you can ask of a Grey Cup. (well that and a Bomber win, but next year, next year is the year)

Everyone knew BLM had issues, he was not great for a lot of this season and the D in Calgary carried them through a lot of games.
-
I personally would like to see him stay with the Stampeders, and I hope he gets a locker right next to Jorden.

rightly trying to purge everything about the third movie.

I am not even sure they played all that well, they just happened to make a couple big plays, two of which can be called flat out stamps errors. They had a huge passing play for the touchdown, they got the fumble on a misguided fight for extra yards by the stamps receiver and then they got the int into double coverage on ego mitchell trying to be a hero, outside of that they were the inferior team all game long, but that's football, make the big plays when the opportunity is there win games.

That's why we need better depth, and that's on Kyle Watlers scouting staff. Lots of fine draft picks and good results in general through free agency, but a bit slow to find our own recruits. Get that figured out and suddenly your depth improves. Now I think we saw some more success this year so perhaps things are getting built up, shall see what happens next year in training camp.

The thing is, every great coach is a rookie at some point. You gotta hire right people and let them grow into the proven winners, and I think Mike O'Shea is well on his way to that. I mean christ, this team has just won 11 and 12 games in the past 2 seasons. It's not like they're barely limping into the playoffs or anything.

They both got fired cause Lyle Bauer wanted to replace them because he was desperate to be the man who brought a cup to Winnipeg. See how it works? You think there's something better out there and you make these rash moves and it winds up setting you back. There was talk that Bauer wanted to replace Ritchie way back in 2001, but they won enough games that year that an extension automatically kicked in and how can you move on when that season just happens? So Ritchie held tight to his veterans as the years moved on cause those were the guys he trusted when he knew Bauer was just waiting for any excuse to can him. Berry was a casualty of Bauer wanting to bring in Mike Kelly for sure, but it was the step back after making the Grey Cup in 07 that made it possible. Again, thinking the grass was greener on the other side. Look how long it took for the team to get back on stable footing after that disaster. Why are we in such a rush to fire people when they are winning more than they are losing currently and we are finally starting to rebuild some NI depth for the first time in god knows how long?
-
This is fantastic.
-
They fired Dave Ritchie cause they were impatient for a cup, made the team worse and set it back years. They fired Doug Berry for the same reasons, made the team worse put it into a huge hole. I'd rather let this regime keep on putting up winning seasons rather than canning them thinking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. If they start missing the playoffs then we will talk, but until then forget about the streak. It matters not.
-
I'd take a winning season and no Grey Cup vs. a losing season and no Grey Cup. Keep putting up winning seasons the Cup will come eventually. Don't over think things here guys. Enjoy the ride and as long as this team keeps winning more than it loses sooner or later the playoffs will see wins.

Has there been any indication at all that Ray is going to retire? Or is this just a case of the media having already buried him last year trying to get a feel good story to run with? Cause unless he himself has hinted at it I just can't see Ray retiring, especially now that he's got a coach that makes his job that much easier and that he can win again with.
-
And absolutely everything we have heard is that guys want to come to Winnipeg and play for O'Shea. Really makes Kyle Walters job easier. Just one more thing to sell a guy on when trying to get their interest.

see Tim Burke.
