  1. Well finally got around to watching this movie... and I really do believe there was a good movie in there but peeeyeeeewwww the writing in that movie was just awful. I don't even know where to start there are a lot of things I really disliked about the movie. I don't outright hate the movie as a lot of people do, I actually felt that they did justice to Kylo Ren and I did overall like the ending of the movie (despite the flaws there too) but the first 2 acts? god awful and mostly because of the writing. Poe becomes and unlikable insubordinate who fucks everything up, Finn has a completely useless storyline that accomplishes nothing, seriously if he was never in the movie it wouldn't have changed anything about it. Luke is done OK at times but ultimately too wasted. You build up Snoke as an all powerful big bad in the universe and then have him die like a ***** without ever explaining a single thing about him. I can live with his death like that to further Kylo's character, but you can't just say he's the biggest baddest dude around and not give us any further information. Far too much telling rather than showing in this movie. I also hated the bullshit forced tension of a space chase. The resistance ships are faster than the first order ships and that's how they get away, OK I can buy that, but you're telling me that they can't pull away after that much time and actually get out of range? That's soooooo lame and symptomatic of the poor writing in this movie. In the climax if they were determined to have Luke die than I woulda had him show up in his X-Wing at the end and **** **** up and then actually duel Kylo Ren and not waste the opportunity to give the "If you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine" speech. Since they are so determined to rehash things from the original trilogies that was a wasted opportunity in my mind. Which brings me to another point, yes we all like Yoda, but I can't help but think it would have been more impactful to have Obi-Wan show up as a force ghost to Luke instead. So yeah, I don't know a whole lot about Rian Johnson but the problems with this movie all seem to be his fault. Bad writing, bad directing, no one to blame but him.
  2. It's not dependent on him signing, it's dependent on the ticats offering a contract. So as long as Hamilton makes an offer they don't lose his rights even if it takes them a month to negotiate a deal.
  3. Well most of the busts occur when someone gets beat in a one on one situation... Presumably if you don't need to always bring your safety down you can sometimes leave him back to help, or change your coverage up so that someone else is providing more help over the top. There were a lot of times last season where it was the dbs having to stick with a guy one on one and if they got mixed up in their coverages it was a big play against. Now we can go round and round all day long about whether that was a scheme issues or it was a problem of covering for a sub par linebacking corps (cause let's face it we were lacking at both the middle and WIL position until Santos L. Halper stepped up late in the season and Wild returned)
  4. One might argue that with a better all around stopper in the middle of the field that the safety would then be more free to help over the top as opposed to having to basically play linebacker as well.
  5. Rider fans are insufferable.
  6. Nope. They fully expect him to play.
  7. I hate you both
  8. Now there's a hair cut you could set your watch to
  9. People need to stop and think for a second... Hamilton did better with Masoli than they did with Collaros last year. Now I believe that Collaros is better than he showed but let that sink in. Masoli! You got outplayed by Masoli and you're the saviour for the green team? **** off with that noise.
  10. and if they don't sign collaros it will be a disappointing 17-1 season.
  11. Yeah any team that has to play a receiver at DB is not going to list the secondary as a strength IMO.
  12. plus wasn't there talk about Bond trying the NFL? Can't really do that if he signs a new deal.
  13. Bottom line is the guys on D have the go ahead to try and turn the ball over and we got some ball hawks on this team. But you know what really stood out to me on a bunch of those big returns? 22 Walker was always down there blocking for guys. He had some rookies oopsies, but I really like that kid. Lotta hustle and lotta skill.
  14. He is the typical self important media personality. Someone who actually thinks they are a big deal and that their opinions carry more weight than the regular Joe. No you're just some dude with a platform, you don't have any more insight than anyone else. **** I hate radio people so much.... Pricks the lot of em....
  15. Downplaying O'Shea, oh my goodness the things some people say. Dude was a legit MLB. It is unfair to hold him to the standards of today, the position has changed a lot since then, but he was as good as you wanted from a MLB back in the day.
  16. Like I said, bored. Those experimental things are the absolute best ones to try cause it's just this idea someone had and bam, now it's a beer.
  17. "Front runners" More like only guys who haven't given them a hard no.
  18. The way some people tell it he got into coaching during his playing career. I believe the story goes that in 2000 he was basically the OC here.
  19. Resurrecting this thread cause I'm bored... Haven't had a lot of new or interesting beers but since I know there are people here who like beer I was wondering if anyone else has actually done any brewing themselves. I got a kit last Christmas and have made about 6 batches over the course of the year (mostly in the fall) and I am quite enjoying the hobby. So far they've all been drinkable (well the last one isn't ready to drink just yet but it should be fine too, hoping for good results with it truthfully just based on the recipe and how it looked while fermenting). Nothing I have made has been phenomenal but tasting at least somewhat like they are supposed to for the styles is a big win. Step 1 make beer you can drink, step 2 refine the process so you can make good beer right? I wish I'd started the hobby years ago but I was always a bit intimidated by how complicated some people make it sound. It's really simple if you're just trying to make a beer you can drink though and aren't caught up in trying to get it exactly perfect and repeatable. There is something satisfying about turning a bag of grain into a beer. Anyway if anyone else has tried I am curious about your experiences with it.
  20. but sportsnet called him a Canadian legend when they interviewed him during a hockey game for some reason....
  21. Montreal Alouettes:
  22. It's not Jones, everyone simply wants to play in front of the best fans in the league!
  23. Well it just seems like half the reason for a guy to have an agent is to do this kind of thing with NFL teams and not having to resort to the lowest of the low begging on social media. Kind of makes me think less of the guy. Desperation is an ugly look for most people.
  24. Walters has been an OK drafter. He's got a plan for the draft and he pretty much sticks with it. I won't give him the best marks cause I feel like his must draft linemen with first pick can leave other areas a bit lacking, but he has improved the depth on the team.
  25. Ritchie Hall just to watch the epic level freak out on this board.
