My only memory is Tee Martin throwing a perfect dime to Peterson who had his man beat by a large margin only for Kamau to completely whiff on the catch.  I then look at Martin with his shoulders dropping and all of the soul escaping his body.

I listened to that game on the radio and I can still hear the Bob Irving call.

"He dropped it.  He. Just. Dropped. It."

edit: found the play on youtube:

     Wonder where Sheed ends up.

will he wind up anywhere? Is there any money left out there for him?

Maybe it'll be a storybook Clarence Denmark kinda thing where he comes back to us midseason as an injury replacement and tears it up.

that would be a bummer because it means one of our battleship receivers is on the sidelines but man would I be pumped for a Sheed comeback in blue.

Yeah, pro sports are cut throat. They aren't the 1st and won't be the last.

    FUN FACT.

On this day in 2015 the 1st piece of the puzzle was officially signed. #66 the GOAT of Goats became a Winnipeg Blue Bomber.

love me some big Stan but I think the very first piece of the turnaround was the 2013 Alex Hall for Neufeld trade.

Hall put up seven sacks for the Roughriders in nineteen games.  In return, we got a Canadian OL starter for a decade.

I think that was Walters' first trade.  Nice debut.

  4. Have been watching a lot of Clements games lately on Youtube and it's shocking how much he and Collaros have the same style -- extending plays, throwing pinpoint passes on the run, turning sacks into first downs.  He just saw the field so well and could process the game so quickly.

He didn't have any kind of breakaway speed and wasn't going to win any footraces but the dude was a buttered eel in the pocket.

I'm gonna go vintage for my next jersey too.  Either BATTLE 34 or JONES 35.  Gotta give some love to those eighties linebackers.

If you rank the QBs in the cfl among starters the only guy who would be bellow Harris is blm imo, and he’s not gonna be a starter this year I’m sure.

hmmm.  I think Harris vs. Macbeth is a wash and I'd take Harris over Maier.

plus I got serious doubts about Ottawa's situation.  Masoli is broken, Brown promising but unproven, Crum and Adams both flashes in the pan (so far).

We've gone to Jimmy John's a few times in the States and I absolutely can't understand how that place stays in business?

I agree that Jimmy John's sucks ass from a quality perspective but they get your sandwiches out fast.  when I was working my worst job and had regular days fulla meetings that five minute turnaround time was sometimes the difference between eating and not.

This Barriere fellow sounds like the most exciting QB prospect we've signed in a while. No offense to Brown.

I never get worked up about QB signings.

They're all good QBs at the college level, we wouldn't sign them otherwise, but the odds are so stacked against them.  Few of them will be both good enough to make the leap and lucky enough to get the right opportunity at the right time to make that leap.

I would hope that Brown's people were not talking to Ottawa unless the Bombers gave them permission to do so.

If Walters managed to get a draft pick for a guy who wasn't signed sealed and delivered, I will be embarrassed for the redblacks.

man, we've come a long way from the days of the redblacks expansion draft.  Ten years ago they couldn't even find anyone worth drafting on our roster.  now we are supplying them with QBs.

I had a feeling that was the 3rd move Jackubec was talking about..... yewwwww! What a day...

so when the Bombers did the Jade Etienne / Drew Willy pre-FA trade in 2014 they signed Willy the same day as they got his rights.  It'll be interesting to see how quickly the redblacks sign him -- would they have made this deal without assurances from Brown's people that Brown would sign with Ottawa?

He kept saying that "it was the only chance for guys to still play football and have a shot at getting into the NFL".  I don't get why most Americans, who are football fans and in the football industry, are so blind to the CFL.  It's just like the CFL doesn't even exist, despite the fact that so many CFL players do go to the NFL.

I don't think that Darryl Moose Johnson was striving to provide a thoughtful overview of non-NFL pro football in North America.  I think he was just doing his job and hyping his loop.

edit: so basically what jay said.

I can't figure out what limits him or any other QB with the right athleticism and tools, as Prukop received the same input as Brown and has a better body for the job.  Is it intelligence, confidence, dedication to the craft, competitiveness, or the case that they may not have been a dominant player from a very young age, forged at birth.  It's a mystery.

I think the line between a successful CFL starter and a bum is extremely thin. That's why veteran QBs can lose their mojo so suddenly, especially after a serious injury.

Like imagine if Doug Flutie was a quarter second slower at processing the game?  He'd be a short yardage specialist or gadget quarterback instead of a GOAT.
