  1. I can't see the league allowing that. All interviews will now be handled internally. We will control the message.
  2. Well, that is a depressing stat.
  3. It was a tough week with a few upsets last week. 100% of participants picked the losing BC Lions over Montreal. Iso_55 led the way with 3 wins, everyone else had 2 or less wins for the week. Overall leaderboard has iso_55, MOBomberFan, and robynjt tied for the lead with 6 wins, with a 5 way tie for second between bluto, Jpan85, TonyFresco, TrueBlue, and voodoochylde. Leaderboard can be found here: http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=1 Labour day weekend usually provides a few surprises. Get your picks in for the week before Friday at 7PM, with the week opening up with the Ticats at BC.
  4. I downloaded the program, but don't think I ever went back in after that iniital time.
  5. I'm not going to disagree with your overall sentiments, but is this because they didn't have faith in the kicker or because they (in Lapos case moreso, it's pretty clear Burke didn't like Palardy) had so much faith in the defense that they preferred to try and pin teams deep?Faith or not in the defence. With the exception of some rare circumstances, if you think you can get 3 points with a fg you take it.Especially when your punter has a knack for getting the single when trying to pin them deep.
  6. Reinbold isn't even available. He is the special teams coach in Hamilton.
  7. I'm part of a group of people who share season tickets to the Jets. We did our game draft yesterday during the Bomber game. 3 of us in the group have season tickets to the Bombers as well. We were trying to decide over the last little while what to do about the November 2nd Chicago Blackhawks game which is in direct conflict with a Bomber game. Wondering if we should risk picking it, thinking they will probably move one of the games to allow people to go to both. Stanley Cup champions ... Jonathan Toewes coming home.... By the time we did our draft during half time, didn't care anymore and I grabbed the game. If they move one of them, great, I get to sit outside in November to watch the Bombers lose. If they don't, then I don't have to sit outside in November to watch the Bombers lose in what will probably be a meaningless game This team is bad, and once the weather starts to turn cold, the people who actually show up to the games will be less then the season ticket base. A sad statement for the inaugural season of the new stadium.
  8. I've had some comments about the news articles in the News Feed site dominating certain areas of the board. Specifically, the "View New Content" and the "Recent Topics" section on the right side of the forums page. The preference being that actual board content show up there over news articles. On a daily basis, we do get more news articles then new threads being created. I've disabled that forum from showing up in those areas for now, the problem being is everyone tends to use the board a little differently and what someone likes, someone else doesn't. So I'm curious if people have thoughts or preferences on this. How do you use the board and find new posts or content? What do you want to see in there?
  9. That gif is awesome. Had to watch at least a dozen times to appreciate everything going on in there
  10. thats true.. he said.crowtons offense had extra stuff for the players to attempt to follow and not simply one set play.. crowton out-thunk himself out of a job it sounds like... but i am curious, were they that confounding or are our offensive players that dense? Doesn't necessarily mean either. One of the issues when you have that many options is that the QB and receiver have to be on the same page. They have to be able to see the same thing and make the same decision about which option will be / should be run. An even tougher proposition with the carousel of QBs and inexperienced ones we had playing.
  11. Another game, another upset. With 73.3% picking Toronto tonight, Calgary took advantage of an injured Ricky Ray and came up with the 'W'. With 60% picking the Tiger-Cats tomorrow, does this bode well for the Bombers?
  12. This is the first part of Higgins bio on the CFL website: I forgot he was the coach in Calgary that cleaned up the mess that was Calgary in the early 2000's. 2 - 3 years of Higgins at the helm might be exactly what we need to get some stability and get this team back on track.
  13. Montreal was blitzing all game and they had no answer for it
  14. Interesting start to the week. Montreal winning over BC with a last second hope and a prayer pass & catch to get them in range for a field goal for the win. 100% of the entries this week chose ... BC.
  15. Wow. Kick return for a TD Montreal. This is a crazy game.
  16. Lets face it, our offense under Crowton has been offensive. Can you imagine the outrage in this place if we gave up a first rounder to get Reilly, then he would have likely of struggled the same as all the other QBs did. We probably would have still had the QB carousel we did this year, AND we'd be down a first round pick. Before we go wishing we had made that trade, lets see what the QBs we do have can do now that we have Bellefeuille
  17. I emailed the HOF and asked them Here was my question to them: This was their response:
  18. After our first week of play, we have two players - MOBomberFan and robynjt who were a perfect 4 for 4 last week. Good job! A logjam of 8 players with 3 picks correct, and the remaining 7 with 2. First game this week is Thursday at 6:30PM. Get your picks in for the week before then, as that is when the voting closes for the week. http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=1&wid=2 Calgary / Toronto looks to be the toughest matchup to decide this week, though will Winnipeg show a spark of life with a new OC calling the plays? If you missed picking last week, it isn't too late to get into the game.
  19. And the CFL website says it was the Winnipeg Winnipegs who were nicknamed the 'Pegs. http://cfl.ca/greycupcentral/year/1935 And the Bombers website say 10. http://www.bluebombers.com/page/grey_cups The Winnipeg Football Club was founded in 1930. Changing the name of the team from the Winnipegs to the Blue Bombers doesn't change the fact that the Winnipeg Football Club has won 10 Grey Cups. Well, tell that to the CFL HOF. Because according to them, the "Blue Bombers" have won 9 Grey Cups. The Bombers officially celebrated their 75th anniversary in 2005. This means the club considers itself to have formed in 1930. So the 1935 Grey Cup would belong to them. I would say that the CFL HOF is wrong. It is no different then a sports franchise moving cities and / or changing names and carrying the history and records with them.
  20. You can see your results by going back to the Week here http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=1&wid=1 You can see the leaderboards by going here http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=leaderboard&pid=1 I'll be having an update / preview coming out later tonight.
  21. You can. Touch in the post and it should open up a menu where you can choose quote
  22. Would you sign somewhere where there is no clear cut starter and you have the chance to be that guy rather then a backup under an established QB?
  23. This would be true if Buck was obviously better then the other guys, but he hasn't been. If Buck plays, it will be interesting to see what he can do with Marcel calling the plays, but I'm not holding my breath that it will be much better or that he can stay healthy. If Buck doesn't give us a substantial increase in QB play over the other two guys, which Mikes advanced stat thread shows, then we are delaying the advancement of Hall or Goltz by one more year for no good reason.
  24. I can't find the exact rules, but it does look like shareholders get a say in the board. http://www.riderville.com/article/roughriders-hold-annual-general-meeting-20130622015438
  25. http://www.cfl.ca/page/game_rule_ratio But really, if you have no one else, why wouldn't you dress Buck to have him on the sidelines, even if he is hurt, just to have his input.
