  1. I assure you I've given myself a stern warning
  2. Overall, things have been really great on the site since we opened in terms of poster activity and poster civility. We thank you all for that, especially for the type of season we've had this year. In reality, there hasn't been a lot of "modding" work to do, and that can sometimes lull us (mods) into complacency. However, we did want to send out a quick reminder of the Code of Conduct of the board which can be found here: http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules Specifically we would like to ask everyone to reread the bolded bullet 2 up above. Lets keep the dialogue, discussion, and disagreements on topic and not degenerate into insulting each other on a personal level or name calling. It really isn't necessary, and does nothing to promote discussion and participation in the board.
  3. Any interest in participating in an NHL Pick 'Em Pool?
  4. Really depends on the level of interest. Not only would it be a lot of work for me to setup, it would be a lot of work for people to constantly make picks. One of the suggestions I've had is to just do Saturday night games. It is usually the busiest night of the week, so you get a good set of games.
  5. Fixed
  6. Seems the favorites mostly won last week. Atlanta / New Orleans was split 50/50 by entrants as well as The Giants / Cowboys. Tony Fresco holds the lead with 13 correct picks, I have 12, with the remaining having 11 or 10 correct picks. Deadline for Week 2 picks is tomorrow (Thursday) 7:30 PM as the Jets take on the Patriots. Week 2 picks can be made here http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=2&wid=14
  7. You mean you don't just know who I am? There were some people who put their picks in for the week already. Good news is that it is smart enough that if you picked Saskatcehwan as a Visitor, you still have Saskatchewan picked now that it is the home team. However, if who is the home team between the Toronto / Saskatchewan and Montreal / BC games will affect your pick, then you will have to go in and edit them.
  8. A thread or PM. Either is fine.
  9. I'll fix this right away. The addon was built for soccer where they tend to swap which side the home / away team is set. So while I can customize how it displays, not how I enter it. So when I'm entering them it is opposite from the cfl website I read it off of. I've caught a few myself but let me know if you see others.
  10. Yeah I was thinking this as well.
  11. Watching the repeat of the game on TSN right now. Those really are sharp jerseys, live and on TV. They just pop on the screen.
  12. I haven't seen anything unclassy about Buck himself, only about his play on the field, which has not been good. If you are in pro sports, then that kind of criticism is valid. No no, nothing unclassy at all. So one post from one poster deserves criticism of the posters "in general". Sometimes you need to look at the source to decide if you need to lend credence and weight to what is posted. Who you allow to post here reflects on you and the entire community here. I don't really want to de-rail this thread, so if you would like to continue the discussion in PMs or another thread, would be happy to. First, I don't really want to limit anyone to post here. As a general rule, we don't want to overly moderate this site and control what opinions people should have. The post probably should have been deleted or edited. We missed it. But if you see a questionable post such as that, it is best and I would ask anyone to report it so it can be dealt with appropriately. To Smokinlue, I will apologize for call you out publically. Shouldn't have done it.

  15. I don't think anyone hates Buck. You have to admire the guy's will and warrior mentality. He is just no longer able to be a starting QB. And for this organization to move on, he had to go. People are happy that we are now moving on. Professional sports sucks sometimes.
  16. There seemed to be some odd clock management on the second last play of the game where the game clock ran down a few seconds when it shouldn’t have. I could have sworn the game clock started running before the 20 second clock. Then on the last play they completed a nice pass to get into range for the game winning field goal., but the Bisons receiver was kept upright and time ran down to 0 by the time they blew the whistle for stopped forward progress. Argument could definitely be made that there should have been 1 second left on the clock. But the whistle did blow with zero time on the clock. Overall, it was an entertaining game. The best game I had seen in the new stadium up until yesterday at the Banjo Bowl. The Bisons O looks to be potent this year. They seem to go for the big play a little too often for my liking, but it was very entertaining. I used to go to Bisons games regularly a few years back. I don’t know if it is just sitting in the new stadium, but the quality of play from both teams seems to be far superior to what it was back then. If you have never been to a Bisons game, should definitely check it out. Good entertainment for a $15 game ticket. Concessions were at full price. The new stadium has to be a huge boon to the Bisons. There was people constantly getting up and buying beer and food. Compare that to basically the hot dog cart they had before, and I’m sure they are making more money from concessions then game tickets.
  17. You can't say that the lack of blitzing was Burke projected on to Creehan. The defense yesterday was more like the Swaggerville D we had when Burke was calling the D. If I didn't know better, I would say that Burke was calling the defensive game yesterday instead of Creehan.
  18. Its possible they didn't think they would be able to protect him and lose him in the expansion draft next year. Making the trade gives them an experienced backup and presence in the locker room for an asset they could have lost.
  19. I'll be there

  21. Bombers are marketing a new cup for the Banjo Bowl
  22. Hmmm... At one point I did have them up there, not sure what happened. I will re-add them
  23. Not sure how many NFL fans we have around here, but I've set the pool up for this season. Ravens at Broncos open up the season tomorrow (Thursday) at 7:30. Get your picks for the week in before then!
  24. A number of people missed getting entries in last week, so that had an interesting effect on the standings. MOBomberFan not has sole possession of first place with 9 wins. Jpan85, myself, and Tony Fresco in second place with 8 wins. Robynjt, TrueBlue, voodoochylde are tied for 3rd with 7 wins. This week opens on Friday at 8PM with the Stampeders battling the Eskimoes. This is the deadline to get your picks in for this week. http://www.morningbigblue.com/community/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=1&wid=4
