You know what? Let the tackles shake out whatever way works best..better to have too much talent than not enough..remember what happened when Hardrick left 2 years ago?
-
Last season he had 11 games with 19+ touches , 5 games with less (including the two games where he was injured) one with 18 and another with 15. 30 might be a bit high, but the 20 number is the average number assuming he doesn't leave the game injured.
Tyson Philpot had 61 receptions and 2 carries ... Brady had 61 receptions and 201 carries. Add in the intangibles of having to block and Brady is significantly more impactful then Philpot.
It's easy to put an import in at RB when your team is loaded with talented Canadian players elsewhere. This team is razor thin on Canadian talent (outside of Brady/Demski). Dumping the best player in his prime who is Canadian simply to "hope" that you can land a talented Canadian oline/dline guy in free agency would be a terrible idea. Pay Brady, dump a guy like Neufeld who is over the hill and save money by replacing him with an American at a cheaper price. American Olinemen are a dime a dozen.

TommyClements got a reaction from BigBlueFanatic in Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion ThreadI watched the presser. My takeaways were different from some of what I read on the board. Walters all but admitted it’s time for a rebuild and set the bar high for this year by saying it can be done quickly. No pay cut for Zach, but that’s partly due to how bad the supports were around him, he said. That suggests there will be hard conversations about the OC, receivers and Oline.
He even admitted the Bombers squeaked out some wins despite playing bad football. Only quality wins were over B.C. and Hamilton. That suggests he has his eyes open.
The entire organization under achieved this year, except for maybe Vaval and Carol in the ticket office.. It sounds like this season stung the people in charge and course correction is ahead. We will see.

Calgary hasn't hosted a playoff game since 2019 and hasn't won anything since 2018. They've been down for a long time by CFL standards, especially when Edmonton and Ottawa are so bad too.
QB play in the league is bad.
If you protect Zach and give him some receivers we could have the best offense in the league pretty quick. It's basically Rourke, Alexander and everyone else.
Harris is consistently average, BLM and VAJ had a few good games but are terribly inconsistent. Arbuckle and Fajardo can get you 6-7 wins.
Keep in mind all these other QB's were scrap heaped long ago. Harris was dumped by Edmonton and Montreal 4-5 years ago and just won the Grey Cup.
Who do you go get that gives you a better chance to win a CFL game than Collaros tomorrow? If you're thinking you're just going to throw a rookie on the field and magic....well go back from about 1995 to 2016 and live that over.

The WR that I like on our negotiation list (for what we need, imo) is Eli Pancol from Duke.
Bryce Kirtz is an okay name to bring in, he might even be a good player for us but it’s been a while since we had that go out and get the ball type dawg as a receiver, the kind of guy that can just body DBs and be a tough haul to bring down. That’s the kind of guy I want to see us bring in.

TommyClements reacted to Colin Unger in Permission to talk: Is O'Shea leaving?I would like Oshea to return and would even be ok with him receiving gm duties with Brock doing all actually GM stuff save for making the final decisions on players. This would free up operations cap space to hire LaPolice as OC. Talk of moving on from O’Shea is crazy to me. Yes his roster management is annoying but we won’t a lot of games over the past several seasons with his linebacker heavy lineups. Be carefull what some of you wish for.

$$ changes a lot of things
He literally can't make any more than he already is. I absolutely want him in B&G for the rest of his career, but if they're giving him a big raise, they're a losing team next season.

TommyClements got a reaction from Bigblue204 in Als at Bombers GDT threadThis forum continues to be obsessively negative. Even when some new recruits look good, it means O’Shea is bad. As if the forum recruited the impressive players and not Walters /O’Shea.
Win or lose, same old thing. Not sure what some posters get out of this.

I don’t hate him. He’s done a fine job overall in his tenure. I just think he and the rest of the front office half assed this past offseason hard.

MOR too... most outstanding Rourke.

TommyClements got a reaction from Tracker in Bombers at REDBLACKS early chatI know it’s fun to blame the OC (see Pierce, Buck; Lapolice, Paul) but what OC in the league would have done better with Strev at QB (arguably not even a good third string, short yardage guy) mediocre receivers and average OL?
it’s a lot of chicken s-t that Walter’s and Osh have handed Hogan. He may also be bad — but I didn’t think we know definitively yet.
