  1. For those interested, historical regular season records of crossover teams, to date: Year - Team - Record (W-L-Ties-OT loss) -> Playoff result (in bold) 2017 - SSK - 10-8-0-0 | 1-1 (Lost East final) 2016 - EDM - 10-8-0-0 | 1-1 (lost East final) 2014 - BC - 9-9-0-0 | 0-1 (lost East semifinal) 2012 - EDM - 7 - 11-0-0 | 0-1 (lost East semifinal) 2009 - BC - 8 -10-0-0 | 1-1 (lost East final) 2008 - EDM - 10-8-0-0 | 1-1 (lost East final) 2005 - SSK - 9-9-0-0 | 0-1 (lost East semifinal) 2003 - BC - 11-7-0-0 | 0-1 (lost East semifinal) 2002 - SSK - 8-10-0-2 | 0-1 (lost East semifinal) 1997 - BC - 8-10-0-0 | 0-1 (lost East semifinal) Combined: 90-90-0-2 | 4 - 10 Things of note: (1) There has never been a crossover from the East to the West, for most of the leagues history, there have been five teams in the West versus four in the East, making a West->East crossover more likely than an East->West crossover. (2) To date, no crossover team has ever advanced to the Grey Cup - let alone win it. Personally, just based on historical results, I'd say through the West is best... for starters because I want to see this team beat Calgary in their own barn, and secondly if they were to somehow become the first crossover team to win it all, 'Rider fans would always put an asterisk beside that win "well yeah, but it's because you took the easy path through the East..."
  2. Well - if the script was flipped and the Bombers got steamrolled by their rivals 31-0, I think most of us here would be pretty crotchety and irrational too.
  3. Fecal matter is also everywhere, what's your point?
  4. No you're missing my point - the announced attendance was about 26,000 people, that's how many seats they sold. In terms of actual people at the game, I would be surprised if it was 17,000.
  5. Well, unfortunately the 'Riders already have the season series. Add to that the terrible weather - and that's what you get. It's not the Bombers attendance is dropping off, the announced attendance was still about 26,000+.... just too bad the season series wasn't tied, otherwise that place would've been rockin'.
  6. HH to the Bombers equipment staff for supplying the 'Riders with a broken bench heater for most of the first half. Both hilarious and effective.
  7. I don't care how cold my wife (she's always cold) and other fans will be. I love outdoor cold weather games... just fantastic to be at.
  8. WHAT'S THAT? I'M SORRY I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER BEING SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN AS THE LOUDEST FANS IN THE LEAGUE.
  9. By definition, in order for it to be a trade, we'd have to give something back to Montreal. Could Jackson improve the team? Maybe. But this isn't the time of year to be rolling the dice with an unproven player. Also, don't you think that might cause some dissent among the ranks? As for the internal workings within the Bombers - absolutely we're kept in the dark. For all we know they may have tried to make some of the trades suggested in this thread, but we'll never really know.
  10. This is the atypical argument of change for the sake of change. Also - why would you gamble on him? We've got three games left - time for the team to gel and gear up for the playoffs, if you're bringing someone in you're desperate.
  11. The thing that's really nice is we hold the tiebreaker over BC, and we'll get the season series against Edmonton if we win in the last week, or if that game ends in a tie (since we currently are winning the point differential in the season series with EDM).
  12. If only Reilly could've got a leg up on the competition. ....I'll show myself out.
  13. Looking forward to playing the 'Riders this weekend but man, what a missed opportunity that Banjo Bowl was, otherwise we could be vying for 2nd place in the West.
  14. I have to respectfully disagree, if it was that simple, there is no doubt they'd to it to make more money, no?
  15. Mike Reilly Vs. the world is looking like it will be cancelled for next season.
  16. I love it. Let them be fat and happy going into the playoffs.
  17. Alright when the stamps visit us in a few weeks we just need to make sure their offense is hungover and I think we'll be alright.
  18. I hope our conditional draft pick for Bowman was based on his number of drops.
  19. Attending this game was what caused me to get season tickets for the 2011 season. Never looked back.
  20. I don't think the concern would be so much for Canadian talent going south - most Canadian CFL starters get paid a bit better than their American counterparts simply due to the ratio rule. I think the bigger issue is American talent staying south (in the AFL), instead of coming north. I also wonder how the legalization of marijuana will effect the ease with which Americans CFLers working in Canada will be able to reenter the US.
  21. Minimum salary AAF: $75,000 USD, which translates to about $97,000 CAD Minimum salary CFL: $54,000 CAD Even though the AAF is unproven, you can't blame players for seeking employment elsewhere where the pay is almost 80% more. It'll be interesting to see how the existence of the AAF will impact the upcoming CBA negotiations between CFL/CFLPA for the 2019 season.
  22. It's unfortunate, but lots of good CFL talent is moving to this league by virtue of our horrendous foreign exchange rate.
  23. By "does it matter" I was referring to the fact that on both sides for the Als/Stamps game it has some pretty minimal implications... the 'Stamps have already locked up a playoff spot, and the Als are toast. That doesn't mean I won't tune in - and I agree it'd be more entertaining to see a competitive game, I just can't see it happening in Montreal now having even less to play for. Much more excited for the Edmonton/Riders matchup - and I agree a 'Riders loss at home would be a perfect way to end a day off with pay.
  24. Does it matter? With the Argo's loss, it's mathematically official there will be a Western crossover again... the Als are done, and the Stamps pretty much have 1st place locked up... they'd practically have to lose out for the 'Riders catch them. As for the 'Riders... a loss would be ideal and go quite nicely with turkey.
  25. Alright, I understand as a cord-cutter I'm in the minority here, but it is ridiculously lazy for TSN 1050 to just plug the TV announcer feed into radio instead of having dedicated radio announcers... and they wonder why the Argos struggle to remain relevant.
