  1. Minimum salary AAF: $75,000 USD, which translates to about $97,000 CAD Minimum salary CFL: $54,000 CAD Even though the AAF is unproven, you can't blame players for seeking employment elsewhere where the pay is almost 80% more. It'll be interesting to see how the existence of the AAF will impact the upcoming CBA negotiations between CFL/CFLPA for the 2019 season.
  2. It's unfortunate, but lots of good CFL talent is moving to this league by virtue of our horrendous foreign exchange rate.
  3. By "does it matter" I was referring to the fact that on both sides for the Als/Stamps game it has some pretty minimal implications... the 'Stamps have already locked up a playoff spot, and the Als are toast. That doesn't mean I won't tune in - and I agree it'd be more entertaining to see a competitive game, I just can't see it happening in Montreal now having even less to play for. Much more excited for the Edmonton/Riders matchup - and I agree a 'Riders loss at home would be a perfect way to end a day off with pay.
  4. Does it matter? With the Argo's loss, it's mathematically official there will be a Western crossover again... the Als are done, and the Stamps pretty much have 1st place locked up... they'd practically have to lose out for the 'Riders catch them. As for the 'Riders... a loss would be ideal and go quite nicely with turkey.
  5. Alright, I understand as a cord-cutter I'm in the minority here, but it is ridiculously lazy for TSN 1050 to just plug the TV announcer feed into radio instead of having dedicated radio announcers... and they wonder why the Argos struggle to remain relevant.
  6. Our only hope is the early momentum by BC makes them obnoxiously confident...
  7. I hate this logic - isn't this why the challenge system is in place? The ref should make the call based on what they see. They'll sometimes make bad/incorrect calls but you have to be able to trust your officiating staff.. having refs unnecessarily rule plays as turnovers (or as scoring plays) because they aren't confident in their own abilities does only one thing - slow the game down. Not only that - relying on command centre to make the right call has proven to be just as much of a coin flip as on-field officiating. The answer is to get better refs by improving training.
  8. Kudos to Weston Dressler for using the field goal post to legally set a pick on his defender whilst running his (eventual) touchdown route in OT.
  9. Personally, I still think they rushed him back from that injury at the start of the year, causing that recent slump in his performance, but that's just me. HH to our STs unit - kept a dangerous returner (Spencer) in check most of the night, and stuffed OTT on that fake FG attempt.
  10. Can't we just settle our differences and agree that the Riders suck?
  11. 😣 oops... well, the way the season's gone, if they make the playoffs by crossing over to their own division... I'd be okay with that.
  12. In terms of both seeding overall in the West, and making the playoffs, we do actually want a tie between the Riders/Eskimos. Odd fact of the day - if the Bombers go 0-0-4, they are also in the playoffs as either 3rd in the East, or crossing over to the West.
  13. I believe the phrase "quit hitting yourself" is appropriate here.
  14. Hey guys, we beat a team that was above .500.
  15. These are the clowns we're up against for a crossover spot?
  16. Any given Saturday doesn't have quite the same ring to it... but every game starts 0-0, right? Cautiously optimistic.
  17. Even the Bombers can't lose a game being played between Calgary and Toronto.
  18. Lots of people here confusing writing off bad debt with forgiving it - two entirely different things.
  19. Well that'll be too bad if Demski can't go, but great news on Harris...that guy is the heart and soul of this team.
  20. You guys are thinking about this the wrong way - we should keep him in the organization... and force him to wear Buzz or Boomers mascot costume and cheers on Regina's rival till the end of time.
  21. Someone has to be!
  22. Well I stand corrected. Hopefully we can steal one on Saturday.
  23. Winnipeg: Edmonton - We lost to them by 3 with Streveler at the helm, they're also in free-fall lately (lost 3 of 4) ... no reason we can't take advantage here. (W) Ottawa - This is the Jekyl/Hyde team this year - sometimes they look stellar, other times... not so much. Likely a loss though. (L) Saskatchewan - These bums barely beat Toronto last night, and their offense is nonexistent... can't see us losing 3 to them, especially since it is at home. (W) Calgary - Realistically Calgary will probably have locked up 1st in the West at this point, so we might luck out and play a game against their scrubs like last year. (W) Edmonton - If this game has any meaning, hopefully our team can step up. (W) Record: 10-8 B.C. Hamilton - They'll be ticked about blowing that late lead yesterday, also the Tabbies are at home. (L) Toronto - BC probably has the edge here, realistically. Toronto's been pretty bad this year. (W) Calgary - Calgary's is just too good, and they'll likely still be playing for something here. (L) Edmonton - Spanked the Lions earlier in the year, though this is in BC and is the tiebreaker. (W) Saskatchewan - This game is in Saskatchewan, and the Lions have been atrocious on the road. (L) Calgary - Similar to our game against them, could be playing at home against Calgary's second stringers (W) Record: 9-9 I fully expect an incoming storm of anger and disgust relating to how this post is unrealistic and optimistic and how I have no idea what I'm talking about. As a fan, I welcome it and would like to point out that this is my casual, slightly-home-biased opinion. I would also like to point out I am entitled to it, just as much as the doom-and-gloomers on this site are entitled to theirs.
  24. Injuries directly impact the product on the field - which directly affects the outcome of the game... I don't understand what is flawed with this logic.
  25. Man... you guys are all over Jones for not kicking the FG when up 7... but honesty what did Hajrullahu do in the game to show Jones he could trust his kicker? I'm not saying I agree with the call, but at that point in the game, he had already missed one FG, and Rainey had burnt the tabbies on punt returns quite a bit. Oh and what did our good buddy Lirim do in OT? Oh yeah, miss a FG... Tabbies should play mean next week at home and hopefully beat B.C.
