Ducky reacted to sweep the leg in 2015 NHL Free Agency
This seems a little much on the opposite side of the spectrum. No way Philly would ever give us that much.

I think the ask is actually too low in this scenario.

Looking at this thread in late August, no-ones got it right yet in terms of roster even....

Ducky reacted to sweep the leg in Jets Prospects
I have no interest in bringing Tlusty back. He's a skill guy without much skill anymore. Stempniak would be great on the 4th line if he's willing to do it for a reasonable price. Seeing as how nobody has signed him yet, it doesn't look like he is.

Ducky reacted to Atomic in Jets Prospects
Petan will come to camp and instantly be one of our top 3 or 4 playmaking forwards. He would be on the second power play unit right away. Tough to ignore that kind of talent.
Not sure what "learning how to play against bigger men" means. That must be a media thing. Petan has been playing against bigger players his whole life, and dominating. I'd say he's even more ready for the NHL than Ehlers.

Ducky reacted to Goalie in Jets Prospects
Not sure if people have paid attention but from DAY 1, the Jets have always said that the plan is to draft and develop. I'm not sure why anyone thinks otherwise to be honest, they have said it since DAY 1. Draft and Develop, won't overpay for free agents, it won't happen and probably never will. The Jets are a draft and develop team and have made no secrets about that.
So we lost Frolik, big deal really... Ehlers and Burmi should be able to replace his production and maybe even do more...
Losing Frolik is not gonna be the end of the world.. Who else did they lose really? Nobody that they didn't want too
Slater,Tlusty,Stempniak? Oh well, 2 were rentals and 1 was a joke really... all 3 were not offered contracts by the Jets and so far, have not been offered contracts by any team in the league...
They just lost frolik and will replace him with the youngsters...ITs been the plan since day 1.
No playoffs? We will see about that but... all i know is, better get used to losing players and seeing youth injected in to the line up cuz that's how they have said it's gonna be.
Scheif,Lowry,Myers,Trouba... all young players that will continue to grow with the team.... Add Ehlers and Burmi and maybe some others like Morrissey Lemieux and Petan or Copp...
It's how you build a team really, you don't go out in free agency and over pay guys... honestly the free agent class this year was the weakest its been in years, when a guy like Frolik is considered one of the top guys available, it's a weak class..
If you actually look at teams like Chicago for example, they drafted and developed there guys too (Toews,Kane,Keith,Seabrook etc) Saad who they had to trade even, so many others too, they don't go out and sign free agents galore, neither does Detroit, they promote from with in and it works... The teams who go out and sign all these free agents to big money deals, hows it work for them exactly? Ask the leafs how signing Clarkson worked for them or Flordia how signing Bolland worked out for them.
The biggest question for the Jets really isn't... can they make the playoffs or what have they done to replace the guys they have lost (the one guy)... It's can they get league average goaltending again? Cuz if they can, then this team probably does make the playoffs... That's been the problem tho, That's the real problem with the team... It's goaltending and until it's fixed, you just don't know what you are gonna get with them.
League average goaltending and the team makes the playoffs, Pav struggles as does Hutch? No chance... Better than league average goaltending? They might surprise some people and instead of being a wildcard team, finish near the top of the central.

You've done about 30 mock lineups. One of them is bound to be right.

The oline is without a doubt an issue but the same thing happened to a pretty good oline in Montreal when Marcel became the OC there too, it's not a coincidence, he's a crappy OC.

Ducky reacted to Atomic in NHL To Announce Expansion
If Vegas and Quebec both got in, I don't see a need for re-alignment. The conferences are 16 and 14 now, they would be 17 and 15 with Quebec and Vegas. Done.

Ducky reacted to Goalie in "There is nothing Marve can show in practice this week"
One question that's been on my mind recently tho... In the off-season, did we fire the wrong coordinator?
Not saying that ETCH shouldn't have been fired but... should MB have been fired too?

Ducky got a reaction from FrostyWinnipeg in 2015 NHL Free Agency
I think a full TC and he would look really nice on the 4th line and even 3rd in case of injuries....I'd sign him for 2 year at at 1m to 1.25m per year.
I'd rather sign him than Tlusty.

Their top 6 is full.
I'm not sure I'd want that guy anywhere near my team. I suspect Rutherford's history with him precluded him from considering Semin.
He and Therrien seem like a match made in heaven...

Ducky reacted to Fatty Liver in Suggestions for us old timers... and thoughts on long term
Sorry Bud, at 34 you're not even getting in the door of the "old guys club". You'll have to add another couple of decades of watching below average football to qualify.

I see Ladd's deal coming in at something around 6 years, 39 million.

Ducky reacted to bustamente in Jets Prospects
This team is not going to win by signing free agent so they absolutely have to hit with draft picks. Like you say the cupboards were bare but now are full so if lets say 5 out of the top 10 prospects ranked this year make the team in the next 3 years we will be in great shape
