New_Earth_Mud reacted to HardCoreBlue in Bogo out 4-6 Weeks, Enstrom to miss December, Buff back on D
Again, again and again, injuries suffered by the Jets confirms the reason why you don't trade Buff. He's a special player that few teams have. I for one do not want to give that to another team.

Big huge dude with a nasty streak that can play both forward or D without missing a beat.... Ya we should trade that guy.
Weird but ok.

I hope your right.
Royal Blue jerseys with gold pants at home
White jerseys with gold pants away.
I just hope we never ever wear white pants again... that looks stupid.

If what I've heard is true, you might get your wish this year. I've heard a lot of rumblings about the fans speaking with their wallets as it pertains to our current road jersey. Nobody likes the gold primary color. The club didn't want a white road uniform, but the fans might be giving them no choice.

I'd really like to see what Burmi would do under Maurice.
It is no secret him and Noel never got along. With Maurice's experience in the KHL, wonder if he could get through to Burmi.

I think you have to ask yourself what your trying to do. And how making one trade is really going to improve your team over what you believe you have in your system.
If we make the playoffs we arnt going to make it out of the first round ... well we might get to the second but beyond that i doubt we go far this year... So is making a trade for the sake of making a trade worth it? Id have to say no.

For me, the question always comes back to that Thorburn contract. Why so high and so long. A 4th line of Thorburn, Peluso, and Slater is not going to cut it.
As to the playoffs, if we were to make it this year, even if we had a better 4th line, I don't think we are making it out of the first round. Even if we are one and done in the playoffs, we just need to start getting that playoff experience to the top half of the lineup.
We basically need better 3rd line players to push the current 3rd line down. And those aren't easy to just pickup. It would be nice next year if Ehlers were to make the team pushing someone like Lowry down to the 4th. A 4th line of Slater and Lowry and one of Peluso / Thorburn or maybe Klingburg if he is ready would be more palatable.
You could be right on the draft picks, but that is still a left over problem from Atlanta. I think this is going to start changing drastically over the next year or two as the Jets draft picks begin to mature. I thought Chiarot looked good out there last night, especially it being his 2nd NHL game of his career. (He was at Atlanta draft pick). Will be nice when these guys can start pushing out the Clitsome's and Pardy's, who were basically waiver wire pickups to strengthen the depth until we can fill it with our own guys.
On the other hand, look how far we've come since year 1 when GST was our third line!

Id have to look and consider how important he is to the team at that point.... right now his role on the team is to important to trade away IMO.

New_Earth_Mud reacted to Rich in Pavs and Hutch
Good game by Pavs yesterday. He does seem to do better when there is competition to push him. Be interesting to see who they play against Boston. Do you play Pavs again after a good performance, or do you play Hutch against the team that drafted him?
Having two goalies playing well is a good problem to have.

I assume he wasnt arrested even though I would be for doing the same thing.
All these people breakuing the law because they want justice will surely turn themselves into police, right? The people making accusations of racism are the people who only care about the skin colour of those involved, not the facts of the case.
Ofcourse the real answer is, this isnt about Michael Brown. It's about an excuse for lawlessness. No indictment? Riot. Indictment? Riot.

LOL..... Man you complain alot. Pretty easy to just stop watching. They arnt world beaters and im pretty sure nobody expected them to be. Well maybe you did.
When we go up against the elite teams of the league this kinda games are going to happen. You cant just panic and start trading everybody. Its a good game to learn from.

I say they stay on course... patience is important... rarely do you see any team have a great many years of success by making trades with non superstar players....

New_Earth_Mud got a reaction from TBURGESS in Lawless - Attention O'Shea: Fire Etcheverry
I agree.
If it is O'Shea that wants to keep either of these guys then im a bit worried.
I like O'Shea and hope he works out... But some things make me wonder what hes thinkin. Maybe i was sorta assuming wrong when i figured hed be more aggressive.
And if there is a power struggle or whatever..... it concerns me. If everyone's not pulling the rope in the same direction then its not going to end well.

Id like to see Kavis Reed back here. As for OC im not sure.
One thing im pretty sure is a safe bet.... If we keep both Etch and MB we will never be anything more then maybe a .500 team and never see a Cup.
