  1. They certainly could be. The REDBLACKS seem to play to both extremes in that they have had both big comebacks and collapses.
  2. Thorpe is a solid young player and given recent injuries a good pickup. Carter is only under contract until the end of the season, Roosevelt has suffered some concerning head injuries and Owens is both old and injury prone. Thorpe will look good at TC next season if he doesn't crack the lineup this season but given all the injuries he could.
  3. They have definitely been solid. June Jones worked some magic.
  4. Nope. At a similar salary I'd take Nichols over Glenn in a heartbeat.
  5. "Elite" quarterbacks are few and far between. Typically they have won consistently during the playoffs and have done so over a number of years.
  6. Neither is "elite" imo but Nichols has done a much better job of playing within himself.
  7. BLM is good but not great. The Stamps have an amazing defence and have surrounded BLM with talent so he shines. Being a school yard bully if you smack the Stamps in the mouth early and often they don't know how to react. The Bombers are plenty physical enough to do it.
  8. A big fat no to Richie Hall (been there done that). Sammy Hurl? For the right price I'd love to have him back. Of course he'd not be a starter but in some situations and on teams he'd be a solid contributor.
  9. He's a good enough National to play with every team in the league. Heck, he's good enough to be with the defence in some specific/special packages.
  10. The $50,000 Question is where is Johnny Jennings next season? If I was a Lions fan I'd want more options then just him at the QB position and as much as you have to love Lulay's heart his body is really starting to give out.
  11. Sammy Hurl taking a lot of abuse. He's a decent enough National but he shouldn't be a every down starter.
  12. That cheap shot on Dressler was embarrassing. Hopefully a significant fine will be forthcoming.
  13. I hope Walters sticks to his guns on this deal. Mulumba needs to realize that he has a lot to prove before he can start calling the shots in negotiations. If he signs and starts lighting it up then he will have more negotiating power but for now the three contract is standard.
  14. I thought that he punted it straight out of bounds but it must have bounced. More stellar camera work from the boys at TSN I guess.
  15. Saskatchewan and Winnipeg both win their week 19 games relatively easily. Calgary vs Edmonton? Calgary is trending downward (BLM is rather pedestrian and Reilly is the best QB in the league) and Edmonton is hungry. I think Edmonton wins it in an absolute beauty of a game. Week 20? Winnipeg beats Calgary who limps into the playoffs full of self-doubt. Edmonton probably beats a Rider team which throughout this season hasn't put together more then a few good games at a time. Also, the game will mean a lot more for the Esks.
  16. I hope he gets what he needs in order to live a relatively pain free/healthy life.
  17. Any day the Yankees lose is a good day!
  18. Gray is at least another year away from joining the Bombers.
  19. The kid's insanely talented but he showed his inexperience and youth in his last match.
  20. Smart move by the Jets to dump him. He's a grade a clown.
  21. When people start playing it in the middle of a live football game it is a bit much!
  22. The NBA is not obligated to associate with a State that holds such regressive ideals. Ultimately professional sports' leagues are in the PR business.
  23. Merchandising sales, ticket sales, tv numbers etc say they are great fans. Hell, the fact there is still a team in Saskatchewan after how long they sucked is testament to being great fans. Think you guys have had a dry spell? The Riders up to 1966 sucked, from 1976 to 1989 and then from 1992 until around 2003. Some of the worst teams of all times. Good fans? I'd say.
