  1. Maybe but people got to have a thicker skin. The horrible people one just wasn't as funny.
  2. Anything to get butts in the stands is ok.
  3. For sure. If there is no threat of aggravating his injury play him.
  4. 2015 is supposed to be a deep draft but really flipping a third for a fourth rounder isn't a steep price even in two drafts. If the Bombers were involved in a deal like this I'd hope they'd be playing the role of the Hamilton Ticats. For a team like the Bombers acquiring draft picks is pretty important. For other teams, less important. Just like in real life, it's tough to get assets if you don't have assets. The Riders didn't give up draft picks but rather just position. They will have two four rounders instead of a third and fourth rounder in both 2015 and 2016. Not a huge issue. However, if they were giving up picks that is another issue.

  6. Etch has to go. Probably. It won't happen until the off season now and who will replace him. Is there a talented young assistant out there somewhere?
  7. Yeah, why are they sticking with this bum? If they were smart they'd put in the guy who started the first 6 games. Now that guy was decent.
  8. With most of these lists it's tough to make a poor choice. yep, unlike the Riders the Bombers have a rich history Who's the troll? Gee I wonder.
  9. Please explain - honestly, I don't remember noticing him in the Sask games last year... granted I didn't watch all of them. How much did he play? He played in a few games but was a victim of Rider depth. He never looked out of place but he was behind a lot of National depth and the Riders signed Adcock who was younger and better.
  10. Riders have had very good late round draft picks the last couple years. Steinheurer, Vonk, Anthony, Moore, Webster, Etc. Those aren't exactly "very good" picks. You have to consider where they were picked on the board and the overall quality of the draft.IMO Taman have been pretty average in draft performance but has shined in free agency. He certainly hasnt been the abject failure at the draft that I feared so that is a good thing. Anyway, flipping third rounders for fourth rounders doesn't usually amount to a hill of beans as by that point in the draft it is a crapshoot and usually only depth guys being picked. There are always exceptions (Getzlaf and Bagg for two) but I am more concerned about the neg lister. I'm considering everything. I'm not asking them to be stellar players, but what makes them good late round draft picks? Do they stand out in comparison to OTHER late round draft picks? Not really. They fit right in there with guys like Cam Thorn, Shane Bergman, Elie Ngoyi, Matt McGarva, Derek Jones, Michael Klassen, Neil King, David Menard, Thomas Miles, Alex Dupuis, etc etc. Nothing special, just decent young players who can fit in if necessary. And that's all you can really ask of them. But that doesn't make them VERY good. Derek Jones takes offence to that. True. Some of those names, Jones included, probably deserve a bit more credit than I'm giving them. For what it's worth, I think some of those guys (Bergman, Menard and Dupuis) WILL be very good. I'm just not sure they're there yet. I'll never be accused of being a 'homer' but of all the teams, the bombers have had the most success with late picks - probably in part because these guys get more chance to prove themselves because of our depth issues... But the percentage of players succeeding who are picked after the 3rd is super low... Thomas, Filer, Walter, JFG, SInopoli - these guys are few and far between I agree the win/loss in this deal is likely that neg list player To me, the vast majority of guys in the third round and later are depth/special teamers. If Taman was discarding picks outright I would be more concerned but exchanging third rounders for fourth rounders is no big deal.
  11. no it's clearly the Rider fans that are the problem. Coming in and posting in every thread acting superior like only rider fans can. If it were my call you'd all be hit with the ban hammer. http://dev.bukkit.org/media/images/33/412/banhammer.png
  12. Etch wasn't a bad signing. They went after Stubler, who would have been better, but what known defensive coordinator was available that would have been better.

  14. Nothing unusual there as head coaches often pick their own staffs. I know, but Brice is stating that if Etch is still here next year, the blame should fall on Walters shoulders. Which is incorrect. Ok. Etch is a big risk big reward type of guy. No questioning his intelligence or his innovations but sometimes Etch can outthink himself.
  15. Signing him to be our backup would've been nice. Crompton had the misfortune to be in Edmonton when the circus was at Commonwealth, much like Elliott was here in Winnipeg last year, so in both cases, their real value was unknown. I'm just nitpicking, but Elliott wasn't here last year. It was the year before. What's Eliot's arm strength like?

  17. Walters needs to be given a few seasons to show what he can do. He already succeeded in securing two major pieces by getting Willy and O'Shea. The Bombers are improved and they are playing in a very tough West Division. Should the team take a step backward next season then it will be time for the long knives.
  18. This move was similar to the Alex Hall move but less costly. The Riders were trying to keep Calgary from Boudreaux as well. Unfortunately without Durant the Riders are a long shot at repeating.
  19. You're hilarious. You really shouldn't complain as the over all quality of your forum has improved. Yes, all the childish bickering around here has really made this place shine. Before I joined here I did a bit of "lurking." Blaming childish bickering on recent Rider fans is quite a stretch. All message boards have childish bickering for better or worse.

  21. This thread has fail written all over it. What minority group is getting over the top stereotyped next? Crazy stuff guys.
  22. Goodell needs to be gone. His hypocrisy won't play well in the short run let alone the long run.
  23. Wonder Pets. My Daughter's favourite.
