  1. Lol Not exactly what I meant. Bladek, for example, was a second rounder who quickly passed St. John a first overall. In a deep draft with a lot of uncertainty surrounding who will show up an who won’t I’d definitely take two second rounders for a first rounder.
  2. Huge game for both teams. These are the fun ones to watch as a fan and where you get to really see what kind of team you have.
  3. The CFL draft is really becoming a crap shoot. These early rankings are interesting but not super helpful as far as using early round choices go. As far as the draft goes I’d take more draft picks over higher picks if possible.
  4. What has Streveler done to make Nichols replaceable? The kid has looked good with limited reps but the proof is in how does he look after teams have a decent amount of film in him. Certainly you want to keep him around and he is worthy of being excited and optimistic but he’s likely a ways a way from replacing a legit starter in Nichols.
  5. This means nothing to the Trump base. The term “deplorable” doesn’t come close to describing that crew.
  6. All they need to do for manure is follow a few of you guys around for a few minutes. So much BS.
  7. Says the goof from the land of pot $hitters. Priceless.
  8. What happened to the guy who made that trade for Toronto? That was a job ender.
  9. You think you get a first rounder for him? Doubt it. A second or third rounder or a solid NI and a neg lister seems realistic but Kavis is the Als GM so the sky may be the limit.
  10. So if a head coaching job comes up in BC will the Bombers let LaPo interview for it?
  11. Really? O'Shea sets the roster. If O'Shea says they need to start a NI at linebacker what choices are Hall left with?
  12. Richie Hall had a combination of Rey Williams and Mike McColluough in 2013 with Diamond Ferri brought aboard for the playoffs. Quite a far cry from Hurl (who's a decent back-up/teamer). Hurl is a good depth guy for the Bombers and has his place but again depth problems at NI necessitated a weak starter in a key position. No way that's on Hall.
  13. Richie Hall's defence was pretty solid in 2007 and 2013 when he had a middle linebacker that didn't suck. A lot of posters here are taking the easy out and scapegoating a coordinator when the truth is Walters and O'Shea are as much or more to blame for the defence's shortcomings. Avoiding the real issues will never solve anything so I hope the Bomber braintrust follows what most of you are proposing. Unfortunately, as a Rider fan, I think they are smarter then that.
  14. Not only is he responsible for defensive schemes but he's responsible for player recruitment and retention. No wonder poor Richie wilted under the pressure.
  15. Fan support and finding an ownership group are not the problem in Halifax. The real reason why this is tough to see happening by 2020 is even a barebones 25k stadium build will be a tough sell in an economically challenged community.
  16. Pretty much every team in the league has a massive free agent list. It's simply the new reality.
  17. Does firing Hall suddenly make the Bomber secondary not suck? How about Hurl? Does he become a starting MLB without Hall? Richie Hall forgot more about defence then most of you will ever know but it is hard to compete when you simply don't have the horses. The best part? Walters and O'Shea should be inline for extensions.
  18. Again, good but overpaid. Save some money on Dress and Medlock and find a MLB or improve NI depth.
  19. Good luck to Medlock finding another payday like he's receiving now. He's a talented guy but overpaid.
  20. He certainly was an example of showing up when the lights were brightest.
  21. Anybody want to change their vote after yesterday's game?
