Kind of hard to do well when Winnipeg is the least desired city that players want to play in by a large margin. This is why we have to always settle for older over the hill free agents and "hope" that they can reclaim some success from the past.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
I like Vaccaro and the futures OL pick also. I do think WR is a need also especially if the plan is to perhaps start 3, but dudes knee injury is a pretty big I don’t think I’m taking him there thing. Perhaps later on but not there. I’d want a guy I know is healthy. I’d prob grab Rohan Jones if he’s actually not going to the league or the North Dakota receiver instead. I like the nodak guys. Maybe I’d talk to Edmonton tho and see if 13 and 20 for 3 and like a 3rd or something works and just get 2 guys i want in Vacarro and henning. Yes 2 OL back to back. And grab the future OL there if still available. I think ideally I’d want 2 guys in camp for sure instead of just 1 really. OL needs some Canadian depth badly. Cuz right now Eli and an aging Neufeld are starting. I mean. We need some depth there. Maybe you consider trading a Wallace even or I dunno. Depends on the OL plan. Starting 3 Americans? Maybe Wallace has some value in a trade.

I just think chevys job is a lot harder than most gms in the league and honestly he’s done well. We do generally make the playoffs or are right there. We won the presidents trophy. We have never actually been a bottom 5 team in our history as our only top 5 pick was Laine and we won pick 2 In the lotto, moved up from 7. I think there’s lots of unknowns I think with Chevy and what he has to deal with with the no moves and no trade clauses. We don’t have a generational McDavid Crosby ovi to help us out. The leafs have won 2 rounds or something since 1960? I thought I saw that. We were in the conference finals a few years ago. Won a round last year. I mean. Toronto doesn’t have the stigma the peg does. I think Chevy is criticized for things he has no control over. I know for a fact that jets have had deals in place but the no moves or no trade lists came into play. Andrew Ladd said it on a podcast. Winnipeg has a perception problem. But once you there you don’t want to leave. We need to fix the perception and specifically Ladd mentioned Chevy and chipper treating you like family and how much of a class act organization they are. It’s just getting guys here that’s the problem. Chevy has tried. I think development might be an issue tho so I’d prob get rid of the moose coach to start cuz outside of Salo, who has the moose recently developed. Lambert is looking ok but he’s tiny and needs to bulk up. I just draft and development right. The development the last few years hasn’t been there. Maybe our scouting needs improvement also but guys like He and Walton look like they will be ready soon and perhaps be contributing to the jets in the not so distant future. We were good for a bit tho so you go for it, looks like outside of an 11 game losing streak jets were ok also this season. Helle being hurt kinda killed the season. That’s not on Chevy. I wouldn’t get rid of him just yet. We just won the presidents trophy last year. I’d tell him to fix the 2C hole by any means necessary except by trading Josh Helle mark kyle and gabe. Everyone else? 2C is what we need most. Toronto might make a good trade partner honestly.

Game 75 : @Shoot For The Stars
I thought they would lose tonight. It’s unfortunate the teams we trying to catch all won tho and Nashville beat LA. Sweeping the table would prob = playoffs still. I think 1 more loss is ok tho but that depends on Nashville also and LA. That last game against SJ might mean lots or nothing.

At that point we clearly will be talking about the TC MVP, who will be cut before he can be handed the trophy. I don't see any great football names as of yet. So I'm pulling for it to be major williams so we can have some major paine gifs in chat when he makes plays- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
100%, this stretch is awfully slow. Vaccaro at 4th? Yes please. I'd love Henning as well. Cenacle is a make-or-break pick for scouts. His testing and knee injuries are massive red flags. 4.8 40 is turning the wrong kind of heads. Very good 3 cone, middle of the pack at best short shuttle, and declined to do the bench press or any of the jumping tests. His pre-injury unofficial jump numbers and 40 were fringy to begin with. Is he healthy? Does he have enough left in his legs to make plays in the cfl? You like his hands, size, build, and how he plays with the ball in his hands. As well as his production. Needs real polish in terms of route running, tons of talent in the kid though. It's a weak draft for WRs, but to take him high you really gotta have a good read on him as a player, person, and health wise.- Around the NHL 2025-26
The bolded part of your comment sounds like a nice out for Chevy, as in 'hey we want to win the cup every year but let's be realistic we're a small market Canadian team that has to work harder than most other teams with one arm tied behind it's back so it aint going to happen unless the moons align perfectly so until then be patient, support us by our merc we're doing the best we can but there are many things out of our control. So in fact it's not a goal to win it all every year but more just be competitive enough be entertaining enough to ensure a healthy profit is turned. All good but don't tell us something that isn't true. Professional sports is a business it's all too complicated for us simpletons to understand. Gag.- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread

Buck designed his own, and borrowed heavily from Lapo, when he was OC. The room working together during the season is not the same thing. That is tweaking the already existing playbook according to what the QBs have experienced once the playbook is in use. Same thing will happen once Condell implements his playbook. They work on progressions and tweaks according to the personnel that actually make the team. Structure, formations, and some progression design is usually by way of the offensive coaching staff.- 25/26 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season Thread
