  1. Today
  2. what about fan loyalty? the blue have the best fans in the league ... friday nite was complete dis respect for the entertainment value of the loyalists in the stands, treating "the game" as another practice ... there is contempt for managements picky self service what is the non loyalist cost of zero competitive entertainment for the season ticket holders and their wallets?
  3. Apparently Lenius is currently injured and may be out for quite sometime, nonetheless it sounds like the Riders are replacing him with rookie Ajou who will be making about half the $152k Lenius was scheduled to receive.
  4. Is O'Shea a huge fan of our punter? He seemed terrible last year and this pre season he was a whole lot of mediocre?
  5. You'd think maybe its the slight competitive advantage - now other teams have 1 less day to pick up a guy from our TC they liked that could be cut loose and integrate them. OR they now have 1 less day to gameplan for playing against player X on our roster in one of our open position battles prior to week 1... ...but at the same time, we're the last team in the league to try and game the system and utilize every inch of advantage (ie starting extra Canadians for the heck of it, refusing to use the naturalized Canadian spot), so it doesn't make sense that we'd be so concerned with any advantage to announcing cuts. Most likely its what everyone has already suggested - we're just too "loyal" and don't like airing our business out until all the hurt feelings have been addressed internally.
  6. LB Tony Jones, fan favourite Global kicker Dean Faithfull among Elks’ final cuts The Edmonton Elks have released 29 players ahead of the CFL’s roster cutdown deadline, including former starters Tony Jones, Dean Faithfull, Marloshawn Franklin Jr., and Deontez Alexander. https://3downnation.com/2024/06/01/lb-tony-jones-fan-favourite-global-kicker-dean-faithfull-among-elks-final-cuts/
  7. Feel like anyone under 30 doesn't really Tweet. You'd have to be getting the Snaps.
  8. I noticed it but was not that annoyed but I am in 202 in the end zone. It does create a nice spot to put extra drinks or anything else.
  9. I was fully expecting to see some disgruntled tweets today that might tip us off but nothing so far....
  10. The way he’s being talked up around here makes me think he’s a guaranteed cut.
  11. Well first of all, the deadline is 10 pm local time for each team so BC has just over a half hour to still make their decisions Secondly, the deadline isn’t to announce them. It’s to file them with the league. So the Bombers have already made their cuts. They submit them late so that they don’t end up processed on the transaction wire until the next day, as do a few other teams whether it’s on purpose or not. Teams announce them at their own discretion, the Bombers choose to announce them the day after.
  12. To submit to the league. They have almost assuredly done that. They just haven’t announced it to us yet.
  13. How is that? The deadline was 10pm was it not?
  14. They all had to have the roster moves into the league by a certain time tonight (9pm. IIRC). When they announce the moves publically is up to them.
  15. They haven’t done anything wrong lol
  16. Winnipeg and BC should be fined for not adhering the same deadline as the rest of the league
  17. Yeah. Bombers tho are classy ******* tho. The rest of the league are whores.
  18. Always last to announce the final cuts and rosters
  19. Bring in Bennett and say happy trails to Jake Thomas. Wall or McFadden over some of the corners we played yesterday.
  20. the rest of the league makes the same consideration, do they not?
  21. Canadian players is more important to me than Canadian teams, but I get it... PaMo vs McJesus would be a hell of a final that I never expected... So here's hoping.
  22. Yes something about wanting to tell all the guys first. It makes sense.
