Sounds like the Bombers need to make between 8-10 cuts by Monday to get down to the 65 man limit. Not sure of how many counters they currently have, but it's at least 73 and seems to be no more than 75 if I have it right - which I'm not sure I do. I'm also not sure they can hide people on the 1 game IR yet so anyone being hidden would have to go on the suspended list (which I guess is the same thing right now) or the 6 game IR.

DB Patrick Hall - Guess they didn't want to cut him immediately after the pre-season game but saw enough.

WR Lavasier Tuinei - We have some very good receiver competition in camp if he was cut...

OL Quinn Everett - Didn't expect that he'd make the roster...but he didn't look as bad as I thought he would

WR Ezra Millington - Jordan Reaves continues to impress? Millington didn't look out of place at all...

DB Dan West - I don't even understand why he was invited to training camp? Maybe we'll hear something about this soon.

Surprised Brown and Tuinei are gone. Also, Millington gets the axe and Jordan Reaves is still here, hope he can continue to get better and make some noise

Tuenei just seems like a victim of very good competition. It's nice in a way that players who sound like they've been very good in camp have to be cut.

 

I'm surprised about Brown as well. The team seems very high on both Johnson & Gibson. Hopefully they both come back...

They're not really related moves. They're fighting for different spots.

Penton just said that Brown has chronic calf problems, which probably led to his release.

According to Milt...the new 5 yard rule...will mean there will likely be a new type of receiver in the CFL. Could be one of the reasons that Tuinei is gone.

Not really surprised by any of these cuts to be honest.   Little disappointed that nobody stepped up to challenge Peach.  I'm probably one of Peach's biggest supporters - definitely feel he's underrated by a lot of people - but I I would have LOVED a more explosive body off the edge .. or at least competition in camp to keep it "honest" and potentially upgrade that spot.

Tuinei is the only surprise on the list for me.  Thought he did pretty well in the game.

If Thad Gibson and Derrell Johnson are back I don't think that's necessarily the case... however having both those guys on "personal leave" does make me a little nervous...

I don't see it as a fail..We gained Westerman with Ivan Brown rotating in as Canadian which is an up grade over having Thomas and Richardson as a constant rotation and on the field. Thadius Gibson is better than what we had last year, and I think is being under estimated and really being away for birth of a child is hardly concerning. Johnson will be back and is gonna be a stud and We also have Fraser who is a year older, wiser and better and come off the edge..I not too worried especially seeing as we are playing a normal defence and guys who seemed sub par or were looking to be in decline will bounce right back

the S.Brown cut has the makings of "this will come back to hunt us" like S.Lemon.

I'm not saying I don't think they'll be back... just "personal leave" means they are gone for some reason that we don't know and we don't know when they'll be back.. that's the reason it makes me a little nervous... when those two are back practising (hopefully this week and in the game Friday) then I'll feel better...

 

I have no issue starting Peach to start the season... but I'd like to know one or both of those guys are around ready to play...
