December 17, 201312 yr Is there a good reason why we keep bringing Morley back? If you graded out every OL in the CFL, I almost guarantee you Morley would grade out in the bottom 10%.

December 17, 201312 yr you never know how quickly your youth will develop (or not) you never know how many FA you will be able to get (or not) until after the 15th having a proper contingency plan is always prudent (even if it is one that you really hope you won't have to rely on primarily)
December 17, 201312 yr If Morley is the best we can do at guard, then we have failed. That being said... last years coaching staff rated Morley higher than any of our 'youngsters' and the O line suffered when he was out. As long as we didn't give him a big signing bonus, he will at least guarantee that we won't be worse at guard than we were last year.

December 17, 201312 yr Renaud soon to marry Winnipeg girl, as well. Tweeted his excitement at being a Winnipegger for life...good for him. I'm a fan of MR9, and hope he can be even better this year if he doesn't have to work as much. That's part of the problem...our ST unit (especially the punt unit) had to work way too hard recently.

December 17, 201312 yr I'm not worried about these signings. They needed to get done. Morley, at least for vet. depth, and Renaud, the vet. punter. I still think Renaud can be better as a punter and maybe under the eye of O'Shea, he can step it up. He has got the leg, but does he have the savvy? We'll see. I'm a little confused about Morley. Looks lost sometimes but is graded well by the coaches. I'd like to see our O-Line get treated with the respect it deserves with a concentration towards improving it exponentially. Bring in the players and let them compete, hopefully under the watchful eye of a very good O-line coach.
December 17, 201312 yr Morley would be a good option as a backup I suppose, I just don't want the guy as a starter and I think a big problem was the complete lack of development for new offensive linemen so the veteran manages to stick just because he doesn't need as much polishing.

December 17, 201312 yr I think it's a given that even with the signings, they'll both have competition at training camp. Especially along the offensive line. Daniel Bryan is a free agent & he may be available although the thought of Old Goat Face doing the punting & kicking doesn't thrill me.

December 17, 201312 yr i wonder if O'Shea will be interested in bringing in Justin Medlock... I know we will burn a DI spot for him but he is money.
December 17, 201312 yr Lirim Hahrullaha if he is still on our neg list will get a long look I would assume as the next kicker. He is the CIS all time leading scorer. At one point this year had kicked 20 or so consecutive field goals many over 40 yards.
