December 9, 201312 yr Darren Cameron @Darren_Cameron 1m Canadian linebacker @pierreluclabbe announces his retirement after six seasons with the #Bombers. Pierre-luc Labbe @pierreluclabbe 13s Time to move on to different goals. Thanks a lot to the #BlueBombers for the best 6 years of my life #retirement #CFL
December 9, 201312 yr Greatly under appreciated contributor on this team. Best of luck to PLL moving forward!
December 9, 201312 yr Author Labbe had his fair share of haters among the fanbase, but for a team lacking in non-import depth, this is really unfortunate.
December 9, 201312 yr PLL was solid depth, and was asked to do a lot more than he should have been doing at points in his Bomber career.
December 9, 201312 yr Author And just in case anyone was wondering... Kirk Penton @PentonKirk1m Pierre-Luc Labbe isn't retiring to avoid expansion draft. He's following his dad's footsteps and becoming a police officer. #Bombers
December 9, 201312 yr Thanks to PLL for his years of service, he was always one of the hardest working players on the roster. Now let's hope we can move on from the NI MLB experiment.
December 9, 201312 yr And just in case anyone was wondering... Kirk Penton @PentonKirk1m Pierre-Luc Labbe isn't retiring to avoid expansion draft. He's following his dad's footsteps and becoming a police officer. #Bombers Good for him. Labbe was under appreciated in Bomberland in my opinion. Very solid depth and ST guy.
December 9, 201312 yr Good luck to him in his future career in law enforcement. Yes he was under appreciated and was put in to a starting position just because we had to due to the ratio and lack of NI talent.
December 9, 201312 yr Good for him. It's good to see a player making his own decisions. I really appreciated his hard work, and his devotion to specialty teams. I also enjoyed seeing his "Canada Corner" in the locker room. All the best to him in the next chapter in his life.
December 9, 201312 yr I think that retirement is probably the only way Labbe will ever be properly appreciated. We'll notice his absence next year.
December 9, 201312 yr I think that retirement is probably the only way Labbe will ever be properly appreciated. We'll notice his absence next year. I agree. I only hope Stephan can step up and play as well as Labbe did.
December 9, 201312 yr I'm expecting retirement from Cvety not on Labbe. Anyways, all the best to Labbe. Btw, is Cvety doing a Westwood?
December 9, 201312 yr I think that retirement is probably the only way Labbe will ever be properly appreciated. We'll notice his absence next year. I agree. He had a darn good run especially for a guy who was a 6th round pick. He'll be missed off the field too. He's been doing a lot of community work in the off-season.
December 9, 201312 yr ST captain, massively underrated LBer.....frick I loved that guy. My favourite thing about the CFL are the lunch-pail, unheralded CIS guys. Congrats, Frenchie!!
December 9, 201312 yr Good Luck PLL. Man, we are going to have some holes to fill this year. We already had holes. Almost the entire roster needs to be replaced. So, what's one more? Having said that, a good soldier retired today & I wish Pierre Luc Labbe all the best.
December 9, 201312 yr Best of luck to monsieur Labbe, the team just got a little weaker, both in his play and in his spirit. Good Canadian character is not easily drafted and I feel that after all the forward progress made with the recent hirings, we've just lost a few yards in player character. Maybe they'll name a Latte after you at the Stadium. The Labbe Latte. You know, a good blend of strength and character. The only thing is .. you'll have to drink it slowly.
December 9, 201312 yr I'll always remember the great Lobendahn-style strip from behind play he made on Durant in the Banjo Bowl.
December 9, 201312 yr Good guy but mediocre player, do people not forget how badly the guy used to be torn apart on ob.com only a few years ago.I remember how the guy was nearly ran out of town after Lumsden owned him badly for that one game. Nice and loyal guy but he won't be any big loss on the field.
December 9, 201312 yr .I remember how the guy was nearly ran out of town after Lumsden owned him badly for that one game. Wrong NI LB - you are thinking of the game we had to start Neil McKinlay. He retired to move to BC to become a fire-fighter, and then came out of retirement to get a ring in the 2011 Grey Cup game against us.
December 9, 201312 yr Labbe did get owned a lot in his first couple of seasons, but I thought he was steadily improving. I want to thank him for all he did as a Bomber, true class act.
