  • So long as Collaros is drawing breath, O'Shea will start him. Should the Bombers win, it will be in spite of the coaching, not because of it. So far as Dru Brown is concerned, his previous starts were

  • Yes I'm a dumbass, I know, but I'm my defense we all knew I meant offseason... But I will accept my deserved mocking.

its not just Coxie...how many 1000 yard guys they have?

We need a sound game plan...Maybe even do something we haven't done all yr right outta the gate and hopefully get up big early before they adjust

Personelle used in packages as well will be big...Kelly will get eaten alive

coaching is gonna be the key factor in who wins this game....And if that's the case, I feel the Argo's will cruise to the win

Yeah...some weird maneuvering...I have a sick feeling in my gut that we are gonna see some strange, and bad roster moves for this game....and like where have we seen that before??

Hope I wrong...I bet tho there gonna be at least one guy dressed who wont even touch the field and serve zero purpose/impact to the game and have been better served having someone who could have...cause again...In a big game where have we seen that before...dont have to look too far back to see multiple instances

The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour, so yeah, O'Shea will be consulting an ouija board or goat entrails.

Go up by a TD, feed Brady, win the TOP and keep Kelly on the bench.
On D, keep everything in front of the db's. Toronto wins on deep shots.

Definitely a recipe for success....especially "keep Kelly on the bench". (Is he a relative of O'Shea's?) Oh yeah, Toronto's Kelly, too!😂

And that's basically it right there.

If I put on my D Coordinator hat to try and stop/limit Chad Kelly, the recipe is to take away his big-boy throws or at least try to. Force him to be patient and play small-ball because he simply has never been able to stop himself from trying deep balls in those situations. He has total belief in his arm and burning desire to win the game on his next throw. Every defence that plays him like that knows that he won't try to Fajardo his way into taking what he is given to have 10 play drives, he will attempt a haymaker toss and sometimes no matter how well you defend him, the pass will still get to a double blue receiver (and those guys are all good)... but other times he won't see the extra coverage and the pass rush will hit him during release, tip a pass at the line or make him force a ball. And that's how you get him. Bend but don't break was made for guys like Chad.

Lucky for us…. We have a coach that loves the bend, but don’t break defense.

It just often breaks after bending.

On a diff note...with all the discussion here as who is to blame...who needs to go with staff..coaches...etc...If Mr Brown pulls the rabbit outta his hat...gets us to the EF...Walter's should get deserved praise and acknowledgement for that no? And salvaging the seson? AS many here say the poor roster here is all on him, and Osh has/had no say whom is brought in ...so safe to say he had no input in bringin Brown in...and was a savvy GM move...by him alone with no input? Should go both ways no?

Brown has pulled one Rabbit getting us to this point...does he have another...and another? To at least get to the Cup?...Weirder things and unlikeliest of hero's has happened before in playoffs...we are due for some luck again...so here's hoping

Sean Salisbury & the 1988 Grey Cup Championship team say hello.

I'm interested in time being a flat circle, and having arguments in January about whether the QB the Bombers traded for during the season as injury insurance is actually worth forfeiting the conditional draft pick he was traded for after taking the Bombers to a Grey Cup victory.

I would like to miss out on the world-wide pandemic that costs a season this time around though.

Hmmmm. Novak moved to PR and Peterson added to AR. I'm not specifically complaining but this is another surprise. Since we moved Hansen to the PR earlier, we already had an open roster spot for another Canadian. Peterson doesn't play on ST's while Novak does. Will Peterson see the field as a RB either in rotation or in a 2 RB set a few times? This is a heck of a time to make these changes IMO.

Is there a surprise addition of a 2nd Canadian that isn't obvious at the moment? Gatkouth or Smith???!!!!

I'm still trying to determine why Vanterpool was added which puts in a situation of having 1 too many imports with 2 back up import OL. It might have been better to add Vibert as OL depth, drop Elsbury and add Ayers back to the AR.

If we win another cup, we can deal with anything.

Are you talking about arguing over conditional draft picks or world-wide pandemics?

yeah its all about how we use our assets...or more specifically how we haven't been. Like you said MCI has been a demon on teams, and when he has had some touches he has been good....We really need to learn how to utilize him....Why we dont run sets with both him and BO starting out in the backfield and pull Neild of is baffling...And same with why do we not utilize Clercius in situations where a big bodied physical receiver would benefit...He has shown since he has been here he catches the ball...And doesnt go down by just coughing at him...another talent we just been stagnating.

If we actually draw up a game plan for Dru with a good mix of in the pocket and roll out/sprints to move him around he seems to excell...always has...construct based on talent and skill set....we seem to lack that aspect in our coaching..we go in with ideas and wont...or just cant deviate

Another thing I forgot to mention earlier in regards to players...and their work/ability....That kick coverage of ours after the Singer TD....Shay...the way he was able to stretch out the returner across the field and keep him in his sights the whole while not allowing him to get any yards and basically boxed him to thesidelines while the calvary showed up...Thing of beauty and how as a coach you would draw that up, or use a filmwork example to relay what you should do...Dude obviously has sideline to sideline playmaking ability....athleticism and has size....dude needs opportunities, but isnt given any and thats a shame

While Clercius showed flashes in previous years, he was benched for the ESF last year and, at least to me, looks terrible. I’ve been extremely disappointed in him. Throwing something to Daniels off a run fake would be nice though.

Love lots of these takes.

Zach is done.

if he hadn’t been injured, Osh would’ve kept him and in and no playoffs. Similar to Strevy only losing his job to Zach bc of injury in 2019.

with the right gameplan and dru taking short stuff and not overthinking (why he’s best off the bench), bombers can win. But who trusts Tommy Condelusional or Osh?

Clercius hasnt been targeted when on field much...but when he has been...he catches it and gets positive yards...we are majorly just stunting him...And why he was benched last yr made zero sense...and for who replaced him even less sense. He has been huge tho in the run game/jumbo and short yarfage..Perkins big TD run he was key in that run clearing the path...same with MCI...Both them just opened the red see..MCI as well all yr has been lethal on teams and his use in short yardage sets and his minimal touches...another guy we have sadly under used and TC has zero clue how to even use him...Most athletic guy on the team....has size...and prob top 3 guys on team in pure speed too...what a shame

A bidry eye in the sky tells me ZC likely isn't dressing for he ESF...But with Osh here always a chance to play a wounded guy who will hamper things again

Hopefully we actually create some kind of package for perkins and do some quick tempo/no huddle stuff after a short yardage play and take advantage of an Argos defensive package where his ability/threat to run and quick pass attack reaps some rewards

But that would encompass some kind of actually planning and prep and work during the game week above and beyond the "process" and we absolutely suck at that...but one can dream

I’d be utterly shocked if we had any new wrinkles or player usage for this game. I’ll hope for it, but I have zero faith it will actually happen.

a few years ago we had a true and effective bend/don't break defence... teams would drive but they'd often settle for FG attempts... and big plays were almost never seen...

Now, we seem run a "bend and always break" defence...

more of a bend and snap style...sometimes we totally ignore the bend part too and just snap

It's the explosions more than anything. We never used to see this many explosions but it's been getting progressively worse with each passing year. They used to have that 0-1-3 mantra.... Never give up more than 3 points in any drive. Now... It seems like someone is constantly getting beat, or a guy falls down, or there's confusion in the secondary and someone misses an assignment... It's been a mess for so long.

Clercius hasn't done anything different from when he got here, other than piss off Zach and seeing fewer passes. Its Oleary orange all over again, and tbh a long string of wrs before him.
