Singer is evidence of everything wrong with our coaching staff

  • Yeah Singer needed to be playing earlier and they should have tried a couple games with Broxton at LT and Poncius or Vanterpool at RT, even if they had to say Bryant was injured, whatever just make it

  • Bombers needed to win tonight and they did, good on them

Build team to play bully ball, hire a guy who think a running back should just play WR instead. Make it make sense

I can't with this guy.

"I know running the football up here solves world peace and terrorists,” said offensive co-ordinator Tommy Condell. “But what we need to be able to do is we gotta be a physically violent football team, and that’s with the run or pass, but we have to throw to score points."

Dude is just clueless.

Just out of curiosity to test an assumption, we aren’t getting the same exact game tape as the BB coaches have correct? ie rewatching a televised game that predominantly follows the ball versus BB coaches having video on each position per play that shows more than the televised game?

The teams get a wide-angle view that shows the whole field, as well as more stationary views of positions.

I'm quite honestly flabbergasted that people think this was a poor game by the OL.... Like do people just ignore how bad they've been most of the season? They were 1000% worse against Montreal just a week prior.

Because Doug Brown said so. Because he played pro football so he knows more.

That being said... wasn't it 2007 when we watched Mike Kelly a pro football HC insist that using shotgun is for amateurs and running his sweeps and motions with Brock Ralph was the correct decision all while everyone on the board was in the complete opposite opinion.

The O-line was noticeable better, how can anyone say not? Collaros HAD time to throw, he did not have guys in his face within 2 seconds like how he has many times throughout this season.

No.

Thank you, so there may be some things we are missing, good or bad, that we don’t have access to is my point from that assumption. :)

Yeah....baffles me too...People crying for change...we get a change and looked better than all yr..ZC actually looked comfortable and confident and made some plays like he did in prime ZC moments...Be interesting to see if this game coming up is a continuation of that...and they tighten it up more....If Eli is back at center does that also mean Osh has seen the reality that he is better?...If he isnt and we were as bad as some claim would we not go back to the other version??

They use the all 24 for that..They will use some tv clips but it's hard to see errors and where we gaffed if you cant see the whole field and what the other team was showing

Also there is a guy or 2 grading and charting everything...well there should/better be

The thing we don't get to see well is initial coverage depth, especially outside of the tackle box. Though if you understand how coverage works, you have a very good idea with a before shot and an after shot.

Booch also makes a very good point. The guy charting plays is the one who really guides the film work. If a team rewatches every snap as a whole, and only spends 1 day on film review from the previous week, all you can be sure of is that they aren't getting anything out of that retrospective.

Generally, if you don't have the ability to pick up on issues from live snaps on TV, different angles won't help.

You can't really assume what others see or miss, especially if you don't see the finer details at all. v

yeah....and if he wants to clear out the backfield....Have Neild out wide and BO as a slot or a hybrid type guy...closer to the action...and where teams may have to have 1..or 2 guys in close proximity to account for him...to allow more space...and if anything as an outlet if nothing is there

When he is split wide...he is insignificant for that play and we basically neuter ourselves for the play.

yeah usually DB is pretty good...and calls things out and will call out the coaching...But that comment last game makes me think he was either drunk or high..made zero sense

yup...Plus from watching tv for most part it's hard to determine who effed up an assignment when you don't know the calls, tho some of the instances if you know what you are looking at and based on other teams alignments, you can decipher some of it..there are several posters here who can.

I rarely...if ever noticed Big Legs pointing out and calling things at the line pre-snap...to get the blocking schemes correct or identifying the Mike so the oline knows who's keying the run fit or blitz, or who is taking who if the defence is showing thats it rushing more guys than we have in to block.

Eli was doing that and there was less chaos in the middle and guys routinely getting beat clean and looking real bad in doing so.

He also was doing his job with letting the guards and tackles know which side needing a double team or chip before peeling off to the second level...That part was very noticeable and was a lot of good tandem work going on....didnt happen much before

ZC made several deeper shots from the pocket, as well as outside...some were called as such...and others he was able to cause the oline had basically clogged up the l.o.s and he could escape to make off schedule throws as opposed to being chased or in sheer panic and make a feeble attempt...That game he was able to make quite a few of those...was pretty obvious

You trying to preach to a hater tho..I rewatched again and they hardly hot garbage...eli never really got outpowered or overnatched at all..guys may have penetrared eventually but that always will happen..the times it did he had time to make a read and escape if wasn't there..he only got really popped once and was glancing on that back handed flip pass he made

Multiple deep shots were designed if a person was to rewatch and several were also made from in the pocket..and if we used 6 man protection at times..our double tights at times isnt that good scheming and usage of assets? No? To me it is..and what teams dont do that?

Mtl prob does and did way more than we do..and way more than anyone..guess they are hot garbage too then eh? So claims the site eli hater/osh boot suckered

Also..in our hey day the majority of ZC succes was outside the pocket..scripted sprint and roll outs..was never great stuck in the pocket..that is lost on many here too

The biggest thing with the center play last game was every snap on the money..chest high..crisp..and kept ZC eyes focused on defence..which allowed him to look almost vintage..just like when Couture was here...that was the biggest thing

Anyone who didnt see/recognize that and effect it has with just fractions of a second of time saved is for lack of better term an effing douchball..straight up

I also didnt see really any bad or missed blocking calls or him getting pegged with clean shots over and over with the amount of plays zc changed on the line of scrimmage in itself shows that the center in that game had his sh!t together

You said out line is trash..and zc can't thrive behind it..yet he prob had one his best games of the yr...and Eli has had 2 starts at center..and in both looked bett we r than Big Legs..so woukdnt the smart coach go with who looked better? Honest question..

Another thing...if we have a hc who doesn't use camp to evaluate and allow best players to play..and pick his roster with the guys who played and showed the best...does it really matter who is in camp? Another honest question as we know all too well how the roster at camp break comes out

It absolutely matters who is at camp. What kind of question is that? If we don't bring back over the hill veterans than he can't pick them. Like I said OL hot garbage, we finally utilized our 6 and 7 fronts properly and got BO involved in pass blocking. That was the difference. Hater? Yep. Not liking our OL at all for the past 2 years. I don't think that's a hot take.

He's human.

I am thinking he was dead on but we actually game planned better for it.

ZC rarely threw anything deep from the pocket, he was escaping the pocket then throwing long. BIG difference.

Doesn't matter cause we see how osh picks roster...history..yrs worth show it..he will select a lesser over a better..that's why I have reservations that it could be irrelevant

So you're saying it's been a coaching issue all along?

Not entirely true... I watched the highlights and there were some he did roll to get away, there were some where they used play action to get the opportunity to move collaros out and throw deep and there were some where he stood and delivered from the pocket.

The couple sacks that showed up on the highlights were interesting too. Was pressure from the edge but you can clearly see the centre had his man blocked up on both those examples.

Exactly what I saw...there were 3 deeper throws from pocket..3 designed as a roll out...and for most part no immediate pressure all game in his face straight thru the middle..only the one where he did the backhanded shovel to I thjnk white?

Anytime he was flushed was primarily from the edges...both edges...and even then several were after he was given some time to make a read but nothing was initially there...that happens...but he had escape room cause guys were not just free wheeling clean from everywhere

And to mention again...the snaps..all bang on the money

And the center obviously was making the right calls..how many times did we see free guys..at times multiple coming free straight on thru like most games...I dont recall any

WinnipegGordo solidly back on the good guys list with this attempt to hex the rule changes. 😉

Good point. No one wants to call out big stan publicly either, so it could well be a way of not singling guys out.

Also, for 4+ years we had the elite OL. In comparison to that, everything is shades of bad.
