Nope

Thsts the best line looked all yr..and if nobody noticed no guys free wheeled un touched on the inside..or edge rush..right blocking calls were being made...by the effing center....plus he manhandled guys all night

disagree. To quote Doug Brown on the post game show, “the o line was atrocious today.” He went on to mention how the Stamps frequently got pressure rushing 3 or even 2.

Heck when Collaros was pissed off on that last drive it appeared to be because he had no chance to get the ball off.

You can have a favorite player but praising Eli is a stretch on a night the oline was terrible.

Great gutsy win overall by the bombers. And well called game by Condell. The O put up 400 yards of offence. Surprised some here are still criticizing him for this game.

Agreed... OL looked so bad. Stan on rollerskates all night. Woof.

Looking at the highlights it looked like Stan got out of his stance real early on the Demski TD and the Stamps end pretty much stopped playing trying to get a call.

Wonder if they play ends up any different if the guy just gets after Collaros there.

That’s the tie breaker against the stamps and the riders right?

And DT said something to the effect of "if there's a 3 way tie, along with Sask and BC, the Bombers would come out on top". ...and could, in theory, host a playoff game. But I think they basically need to win out and have everyone else lose out. Something like that...

I called out Demski and vaval and I’ll gladly eat eat crow!

Now I’ll call out nichols for shite tackling

Calgary did not rush 2 at any point tonight. The 3-4 they rush are also in the top 8 or 9 in the whole league when it comes to ability to disrupt and pass rush.

The pressures almost all came off the blind side from bryant.

No other performance by the ol comes even close this year, and thats the most talented dl we’ve played. Calgarys dl is finally 100% and rust free.

It was far from perfect on the ol, they still have a lot to improve on. Big stan is a real problem, wallace eli and neuf will also improve if they keep starting together.

Remember, you don’t normally see instant improvements from an ol change. generally it takes a couple weeks for guys to gel. Even though eli has been here a long time, he hasn’t played c flanked by neuf and wallace. Wallace also hasn’t had a good supporting crew to work with at any point.

The fact we took a good step forward in the first game of the change is huge.

Plus, we barely ran tonight. that makes it worlds harder on the ol. if we ran with brady 15+ times the ol would’ve been even better.

Giving up 2 sacks to that dl, when you only run 3-4 times up to the 3 minute warning with a change at C and a turnstile at LT is fantastic.

Well called game when the offence relied on zach landing deep shots at well contested db with some great grabs is a wild claim. Why do you think zach was able to complete all those deep balls? What exactly did you think condell did well? What strategy did you see him employ and what tactics did he use to accomplish them?

The best the Bombers could do would be to tie the Lions at 10 wins.

If its just the Bombers and Lions, they'd need to beat the Lions by 17 points... or have the higher quotient of points if its by 16 to get to 2nd... past that the next valid tie breaker would be aggregate points in the division... i'm not sure where the Bombers are with that but they are 110 points or so behind the Lions overall so I'm guessing thats not real feasible.

If its the Bombers, Lions and Riders all at 10 wins, the Lions get 2nd because they'd have gone 3-2 (2-1 vs the Riders, 1-1 vs the Bombers) in common games and then the Bombers would finish 3rd by nature of their tiebreaker over the Riders.

this team isn’t good, little on not great. No one has forgotten the previous dark eras. most of us have been here for multiple.

Also, we have not been spoiled for the pasts two years, that’s just silly.

We didn't win a Grey Cup for 29 years yet we were spoiled?? I was there for every agonizing season.

Yeah I not sure what db was smoking.. this was by far the best the interior looked all yr..first pockets we had to work from all yr really

The leakage cameoff from outside for most part. There were no guyd coming absolutely free with big shots..and also based on looks ZC changed the plays at least 10 times from a run to a pass..so they never got to settle in on a ground and pound to abuse and wear out the defence.

One game together was worlds better than what weve seen for a long while..a few more to get cohesion as a group will only make them better

For first time together against prob the toughest dline..can't complain one bit. I shudder to think the results if we went status quo

Lost in it was the snaps and the effect that has..which is huge and was mentioned earlier

Fact of matter if anyone can't see that Eli is the better center....not sure what to say...and was first game in long time too ZC actually looked more comfortable back there..wasnt in turtle mode..or doing panicked things that were making him look like a rookie...there was a reason for that

Win one of our remaining games and were in. That would have us finish 9-9, which is the best Calgary can can finish now and we own the tie-breaker with them. If Calgary loses next week were in too no matter what we do in our final two games. Calgary is at 8-9 and have a bye last week of the season.

Agree Stan is sadly the biggest liability on that line. Agree to disagree on the line overall playing well. The fact ZC was visibly angry about the constant pressure supports that case. If he wasn’t able to roll out and make plays better than he has all year that sack total would be much higher.

As for Condell, he got the results yesterday. All year he gets criticized for no deep ball; or he doesn’t run enough. His results on the year are less than mediocre; but I won’t criticize him for a game when they put up 400 yards.

Just getting around to watching the game now. That Jaylen Smith hit on McMahon was nasty

They better lock him up long term. Guy has all the tools, plus the passport.

There seems to be a difference of opinion regarding the O-line last night. I thought that aside from Bryant, who I think the majority of us feels should retire, the line did OK with pass protection and opened up holes the few times Oliveira got the ball. I felt that they gave Collaros ample time. However, Zach is notoriously slow when it comes to his release and it seems that he's always looking for that long one so it seems like he is always under pressure. Anyway, the Bombers got the W and now it's up to them to cement a playoff position. (Magic number is 1, I think.)

P.S. Wallace was really aggressive on the run where Oliveira fumbled and may have caused it. Eli looked fine at C and even Elsbury in a limited role was knocking bodies around. The line is a work in progress but it's moving in the right direction. (This coaching staff has to be hit on the head with a 2x4 to get them to realize that they can make changes that just might be positive.)

There were some misses on the OL for sure but to my untrained eye the interior didn't get caved in quickly like it has in the past few years and you saw Zach able to step up and throw downfield like he loves to do.

So from that standpoint I say Eli looked like an upgrade.

People said the same **** with singer on the pr. Coaches never make mistakes and if guys should be starting they would be. Well there is no universe where even a raw rookie singer wouldn't have looked better than Cobb or Corcoran on the roster from game 1. Makes you wonder what other bad roster decisions like that have gone on all year eh?

I tri d to watch Daniels a bit when he was in as he gets alot of heat on here...from what I saw he did well blocking.....tried to watch Eli, but honestly it's so hard to try and focus on the line like that...so I honestly could say much either way....

Tinfoil hat for a second here...Zach seemed to change many plays....I wonder how much of this game was Zach saying flub it to the play calls and just adlibing. The offence looked different last night...

Tinfoil hat off....it was Avery exciting game to be at the atmosphere was great the weather amazing, and we get to close out this season with a win on our last home game!

No tinfoil hat needed.

On the post game show, ZC said there were probably a dozen run plays that he changed at the line, based off what the defense was showing.

I tried to watch Eli, too and it is difficult to assess play whether at the game or on TV but from what I saw, I thought he looked fine with blocking (don't know about calling blocking assignments) and, IMO, his snaps were noticeably better than Elsbury's. (Every split second counts for the QB.) IMO, he is better than Elsbury. Why the coaches went with a rookie American this year over a veteran Canadian, who was trained as a C, is baffling. Could it be some deep-seated grudge that O'Shea has against Eli for refusing to get a covid vaccination back in the day. I'm not clear on this but was Eli suspended over it?

Ah, Daniels, the forgotten (invisible) man. I hope he was blocking OK because he certainly isn't being used as a receiver.

Yep, I noticed Collaros doing a lot more audibling than normal. And, that's a good thing!

It's unfortunate that Zach appears to be our best option at QB still. I had really hoped Brown would show better.

Yes, to get second place... Bombers need to win out... beat BC by 17 or more... hope BC loses to the Stamps... and the Riders need to lose one more... simple!

If this exact scenario unfolded... all 3 teams would be 10-8 with the Bombers holding all tie-breakers...

IMO The biggest difference in the OL was Zach himself. He turned back the clock, got out of trouble, shed tacklers, and made plays like it was his first game in Blue.

A few comments n the game last night"

  1. Collaros had his best game in a t least a year, but he had time and good snaps for a change.\

  2. Just because Collaros had a very good game, it is unrealistic to expect this to be the usual at this point in his career.

  3. Jaylen Smith is a baller, and I hope his injury is minor.

  4. This lineup ought to have happened months ago but for O'Shea's stupidity.

  5. It only took 16 games for Eli to start and solidify the interior of the line. How many more before O'Shea sits Bryant out? He is definitely the weak link now and a major liability, risking the QBs every snap.

  6. Maybe our scouting isn't all that bad. Maybe the biggest problem is our head coach and coordinators.
