We increase the number of linebackers on the roster to 11.

I, for one, never had any doubt...

  • Best game we played in several yrs. This looked more like the team we have known before and they definitely did their work during the week. Now if they can string this kinda effort and execution toget

16 point lead blown, 3 points in the 2nd half.... Yeah better stand pat.

Why would Kyle Walters do this.

Seriously what happens if Montreal hangs 50 on us?

'We took a step back today, for sure. Now it didn't help that (insert name of player or players) was playing/ got hurt and a couple of bad breaks here, a couple of calls that didn't go our way that really set the tone of this game but that's no excuse. Montreal was clearly the better team. Guys need to do some searching, there's going to be some tough conversations coming up. Next week will show us who we really are'.

You mean when......

The answer will be watch film, make a few tweaks, dot a few i's and cross a few t's, re-evaluate commitment of certain players, vague comment about vets needing to follow their lanes, less penalties, capitalize on opportunities, etc....

Kind of freeing going into a game with no expectation of a win.

wasnt it 38 yards of offence too....or something along those lines?

you want the honest truth...absolutely nothing

and if we look putrid on offence again with no real threats to do something big ever...again absolutely nothing

But I can guarantee one thing...Osh spinning B.S after the game tho as to why...That's a given

We do what we always do, watch the film.

yup...discover a few more things that need this finite tuning, and be assured that we "are right where we need to be" u-huh

forgetting to mention I think the guys just got tired....always a good excuse for a professional athlete....i mean 45 of them...all got pooped right out

I think you mean we are gonna go 4 national receivers cause then we can add an American olinman to help out with pass protect for ZC...And that way Pokey gives us great depth in case of injury and can come in with no affect to ratio.....Oshea likely

No frigging changes. Not a single one. The insanity of this organization is totally unbelievable. Wade Miller should be ashamed. He gave this damned head coach a 3 year deal.

Nichols is a GTD, so yeah let’s not dress another DB. Let’s dress 10 linebackers. No idea who makes that call, I’m assuming O’Shea but there’s talk he lets his coordinators be pretty hands on and that could be part of a bigger problem where O’Shea really does nothing except stand there. Everyone assumes it’s O’Shea and just O’Shea. I feel it’s not. I feel I’ve heard multiple times In the past that the coordinators have quite the input here. No doubt O’Shea has the final call but in his press conferences when asked he says we I mean I quite often so I think it’s a collaborative effort amongst all coordinators with O’Shea having final final say. Like dude certainly isn’t ruling with an iron fist. Tommy Jordan and Mike Miller all have a say. Sounds like Marty has a say also.

Personally the next coach I meet or see who likes playing rookies over vets in any pro sport, he will be the first one. AnY sport, O’Shea is really no different than Paul Maurice in hockey or Joe Torre in baseball with the old Yankees teams… when push comes to shove it’s vets over the kids in key moments in all sports really.

Jets got a 3 2 lead game 7 Stanley cup final. 40 seconds left. They ain’t sending out Viggo. They sending out Lowry or Scheif. Yankees gonna send in 40 yr old closer to shut her down. Who was the patriots backup when Brady was playing? lol. Coaches love their vets. Always will. Why? Cuz vets are trusted to do their jobs. Rookies gotta earn it. Weird part tho at one point every player was that rookie tho. It’s like an office job really, once you get that vet status you do less ,get paid more and start to lose that motivation cuz you ain’t being pushed no more. You notice In office jobs the higher up you go, the less you actually do? It’s the young ones doing all the grunt work. It’s the same with the bombers, once you reach vet status, you basically don’t even have to practice anymore.

As others have said, going to credit @JuranBoldenRules as saying it first, we're built to win games 23-18, while others teams are built to win by scoring 30+. Hard to win that way.

Yup, agreed. Others built to score a TD a quarter. We built to kick a FG a quarter.

And O’Shea loves his vets. He can’t see some are washed up. Just listen to him talk about Nichols on YouTube today. Just delusional. It’s truly, I wonder if Oshea’s boss Kyle feels the same way?

If so, at this point O’Sheas boss is doing nothing at all so I’m assuming he does feel similar. So what’s the final solution really.

Do they actually watch the film? There's no evidence that the coaching staff makes the neccessary adjustments and we know they'll only change players due to injury.

I font think we were purposely built that way...just a sad reality of what we are

dont think they actually see what the issues are, or have ability to change or fix it if they even did...They too hung up on their process and beliefs of the past...when we had a whole different team and makeup of players...Worked well with elite guys...in their prime...pretty much across the board

Now we have a large group of the former...not in their prime...no longer elite, with a big group of neither prime or ever elite, with zero potential sprinkled on top...But we act and coach them (i use the word coach lightly as I see zero going on...especially in game) like the 2019 to 2022 teams who essentially self coached themselves and allowed their talents to take over and prevail. But now when we have to actually figure out a roster...utilize players to their best abilities in the proper positions, and then scheme and adapt in a game...game in and game out we have zero ability cause really...never really did it before

Same can be said for the preparedness, or lack thereof...Osh relied on his room and players to police and do that..He even said so himself...and now thats not happening and well...we come outta the shoot too often to count like a team of newbies in their first pro game

If you've watched film for half the season and can't make it work then the answer is blindingly obvious... The players you have are physically incapable of executing the game plan.

The record for points in a cfl game is 111, if we are gonna win and give up 50 we better beat that record. Though the argos put up 68 in that game.

They'll watch the film. Get some rest and add another linebacker to the GDR.

Or the game plan/ scheme is garbage. Perhaps a combination of both.

We study the film and work on improving things we did wrong. We add more LB's to the PR and / or the AR. O'Shea tells us players are working hard and we're on the right path? lol
