Can we give Kramdi some credit. This forum keeps crapping on him and I don’t get it. He’s no all star but he’s by no means a liability.

Brown’s interview is perfect. “Well we won…we didn’t play very well”

The amount of absolutely moronic comments in this GDT thread is embarrassing. Take a breath and touch grass.

Maybe the reason Brady isn't getting a ton of touches is because he's going down on basic arm tackles after 4 yards. Maybe he needs to spend less time making TV shows and paying for his girlfriend's horrible lip injections and actually hit the hole with some purpose as he did two years ago.

The same people who were acting like Jake Ceresna was some franchise changing signing (he's had a great 3 and a half quarters this year) are the same people saying Osh is an idiot.

Tony Jones has been by far our best linebacker for the last 2 weeks, in a system that isn't overly friendly to linebackers, but he still continuously gets **** on.

I could go on, but the moronic comments in this GDT says all that needs to be said.

Clownshow.

Id say Griffin has been our best all yr.....But agree Jones prob had his best game here so far last night

Osh is an idiot....and from some his again stupid roster decisions...his inability to have his team come out prepared and kicking some butt...kina confirms it...There are a ton of issues we need to adress, and we would be prob the elite team again...but wins where we kinda lucked out...or squeeked by when we should have ran away with a game...glosses over it and he see's no issues....

What game were you watching that had Brady going down with arm tackles? Lol. Please see Otts run game as an example of how you keep with it to get results. 4 rushes in the first half doesnt even give you a sample size to determine if your RB is playing well or not. Talking about moronic comments....lol.

Brady is one of the best players in the game. If the run isnt working you get him involved in the passing game.

Edit....I should add that 4yrds a carry is actually a good average.

yeah I didnt see that either...he was just not used....and when he was we ran him into KOLO.2.0 area of line...so was getting contact before even getting over l.o.s for most part...thats not on him

Plus Condell did nothing in any aspect of his game plan to set things up, for certain plays tpo really succeed...aka..the MCI run....that if used and set ip properly could be a huge play when we run it more often than not

Gotta agree to some extent. Any time we are not leading a game it turns into the fire everybody thread instead of a GDT. I was among the pitchfork crew but can say I was caught up in the emotion of the game. Problem is that we are on a 3 game win streak using nothing but our 2nd and 3rd string starters and there are a ton of guys who are going to show up on the forum this week and roast our management, coaching and half our starting lineup. Not the usual amount of roasting that any management or coaching gets, but the kind that is reserved for winless teams. Winning and losing are the metric and yet week in and week out we hear the same thing no matter what, and that is pretty telling. It is no longer a balanced assessment by many here, it's a bias and/or an agenda.

We are spoiled here. Most teams fan base would be tickled pink going 3-0 after losing their number one QB. Not us.

i agree and my issue is the constant unpreparedness which is a common theme now....and at times next to zero adjusting...just the belief that it will work. You hit nail on had tho...We can be more critical of some things when say Dixon..Woodbey and Lawson are back...Maybe a position tweak in the LB/DB group...we have the horses in house..Osh just needs to recognize whats an issue and actually act on it...can he?...will he???

The offence needs a playmaker who is legit 1aaa...will help immensely and the import center idea should be stopped...the bang isn't worth the buck if losing an import elsewhere...Eli will be no worse than Elsbury/Kolo and if given the role and stays there will be fine. He was fine in his start here...but Elsbury was less than Wallace at guard

Back to tweaks on roster...ZC wouldnt have won us that game last night....and there wasnt some real revelation of an adjustment that got is the win...Dru Brown just got er done and you can see if you know what you looking for that many of his 4th quarter plays were all on him and not really on script...Kudus to him...especially working with what he's been handed

God our receivers were brutal... They know they're paid to make catches right? Abysmal effort on some well thrown balls. Nield with an embarrassment of a game between 2 gimmie drops and a penalty that took away a play that would have set them up a couple yards from a touchdown.... Dumb ******* idiotic penalties too, nearly killed them. Thought the D was good except for a period where the O got into a situation where they couldn't stay on the field. I know Stanley Bryant is the GOAT..... But yikes that was bad dude...

what was there...4...5 real bad drops?....worst group in league right now in it's current set up

How isn’t that an issue

and they don’t seem to do proper pre game shows any more. when plays of the week segment is 10x longer than pre game, you know they don’t value the games

right? half the plays we ran brady was getting mauled by the time the ball was in his arms.

Getting back to the receiving group, White and Wilson feel like they are more 2s or 1as than a 1 and Demski is a 2. Neild is a 4. We don't have a guy who is a legit #1 ala Tyson Philpott, Lawler, Hatcher, or Kesean Johnson.

Another issue is Cobb/Corcoran/Daniels at the 5th spot. Compare them to Ottawa, whose 5th is who, Keelen White? Toronto's 5th is Ungerer. Calgary would be who, Barnes or Brissett?

We only ran 4 times where it wasn't RPO with a hesitant, slow mesh and 2 of those were to Chris-Ike who runs completely upright, leaning with no power so he's going down at first contact even if it's a corner. Brady's non-RPO runs were 2 carries for 29.

RPO stuff isn't going to work unless the QB is going to pull it and roll. Pull it and drop to 7, the D doesn't care, they don't have to widen their gaps or worry about the edge being pressed.

Even if your ultimate goal is to pass the ball for 450 yards a game, you need the run threat. We're taking it off the board and that's where the inconsistency comes from. The D has far less to think about so you're just making their job easier.

The only way Condell's scheme will ever work is if you go to NCAA style hurry up. Would be interesting to see someone try a legit full on hurry up offense in the CFL with the officiating.

Tony jones best game as a bomber in a long time. Kyrie was pretty good too.

We aren’t using the dime pack like we used to (since we don’t carry a di db who can cover). When we sub for dime, kelly goes in at free safety and kramdi plays a shallow strong saftey over the slot. Very much the nfl way of aligning coverage. In fact some teams down south are doing this but going to 3 S with a s tweener replacing the nickel db. So instead of a guy to small for the run game or to cover a te, they get a bigger guy who can play both roles. We kinda do the same with bigger dbs like griffin and woodbey when healthy.

I wish it was allen and kramdi instead of kramdi and kelly. maybe when the ratio improves at some point.

Bryant was brutal, elsbury was bad, and no one was good on the ol last night. Change is needed and more than one spot.

Remember when bailey had the drops and our wr was underperforming so we brought in rosie? no one wanted to lose their spot so every one stepped up. We badly need a move like that now. But we also need to get another imp with some size and down field ability on the roster.

Wilson played his worst game ever last night, but yeah we have 3 2s and no 1.

I was bitching about the DLine but really they’re one of the better units on the team, and missing a couple of guys as well. I take it back, they’re not a problem.

WR however is absolutely a weak spot. He did have a rougher game last night but Pokey is a decent #2. The rest are middling at best. They have to find a way to get at least one more American on there.

I’d even sit Tim White for a game and try 2 other Americans. We don’t need another guy who can’t break a tackle running out screens.

This one’s on the entire staff, they’ve buggered up the receiving corps issue for 2 years now. Building your roster around talent you don’t have is moronic.

I think Wilson or White could both be top dogs but you need a Darvin Adams type on the boundary to open up space.

On the 5th receiver....do you think there's a bit of a trade off when you pay a running back and a RT over half a million? That's where that decision was made. Looks increasingly stupid based on who they hired at OC.

Toronto's 5th receiver this week was Tristan Ready out of Carleton. 0 for 0, average of 0.

Ottawa is spending a lot on receivers. Geno Lewis is on pace for 96 catches for 600 yards. They aren't spending on a QB.

That's a fair point.

Read a stat before the season started and it was something along the lines of teams with Condell as their OC have finished bottom 3 in rushing every season. So i wouldnt expect Brady to all of a sudden light it up/get more touches moving forward. What a waste.

I agree though you make two excellent points. Brady and Broxton's money means saving have to be found elsewhere as you've said and we need a Darvin Adams type.

don’t think every season, he had two really good rushing seasons.

but the run game and red zone are classic failings for tc and really bad for us this year

This team needs to find a Canadian Centre, insert an American Receiver and run the ball more, bringing in a few db's for a look couldn't hurt

Center issues again....and like you mentioned in another post...if we did some play action stuff and runs with motion and MCI and BO together....that MCI toss would produce big...as well as spread the dline and give BO less to deal with for his interior runs, or anything off tackle

But hate to beat a dead horse, but that 3rd Canadian WR is not helping us at all....Hopefully when Clercius is back we use him in the slot and it becomes an actual position that needs attention and we not as handi-capped. I hope he and Nield are used in rotation and at times together...Clercius has solid hands and wont drop many...if any. Nield for most part so far has been kind of a disapointment...is it our scheme and use of him...or was last yr just an abberation?...we shall see...he has all the tools so I have high hopes

Cobb give him kudos for the convert catch. His veteran awareness was key as he knew where to go, and recognized to get there immediately. He has value for us as the backend Canadian WR to support the 3 top Canadians...of which we should only really be starting 2 of, and is a steady reliable returner....he isnt a game breaker but he is serviceable and wont hurt you if pressed into action in a game...Corcoran serves zero purpose...We have Daniels to groom as a blocking receiver and a better option mismatch wise to get yards on short range catches...and possibly rumbling for yards. He has upside and potential..Corcoran just is what he is...And I have a hard time seeing him make any other roster

And on the short yardage runs...he was useless...on the Perkins stuff he did absolutely nothing

yeah people say the 5th is a non issue and wont see any targets...thats a load of crap...and doesn't have to be a wasted spot...Other teams use theirs...and if they dont they take attention away from the top guys...its just stupid wasted rostering...and even with just 2 National Oline guys...we still dont have to use 3 Canadians to meet ratio...we can easily use the Nationalized American, and or any 2 of Kramdi..Smith...Lawson...Kelly on defence to support ratio requirement...Its just a choice by Osh...and an extremely useless dumb one at that

White, Wilson, Demski, Nield is like 1/7th of our cap too.

BTW, here's 18 game pace on those guys, with a game in Hamilton where we basically couldn't pass the ball. We have 4 guys that are going to be in striking distance of 1000 yards. I don't think we've ever had more than 3. In the glory days of peak Kevin Glenn our 4TH RECEIVER was a guy getting 400-500 yards.

Wilson 135 1125

White 120 1134

Demski 102 1200

Nield 81 843

Our biggest problem on O is consistency and IMO that all circles back to the OL and the run game.

Sorry, the stat/quote is actually "Over nine seasons as a coordinator since 2013, Condell has never overseen a rushing attack that's ranked higher than fourth. It's usually been lower".

We've finished top 3 for 8 straight years. Somethings gotta give.

I'm not too concerned with dline...WJ is being WJ but thats a result of no other dead weight on the dline, when we used to play 2...at times 3 guys who just plain sucked

Reese is legit and coming on real good...And Gatkouth is too actually...I really like his discipline in the run game and not cheating...Dixon back and will help, and he's versatile...Fletcher is getting better and that comes with reps, and when Dixon is good to go I'd be more than okay with a Lawson and Ceresna DT pair, and WJ...Reese..Dixon...Fletcher and Gatkouth group....Ideally be nice to swap Fletcher with a true line busting nose/DT and we should be on hunt for one but that group used right will be a pretty good front

WR group tho needs a shakeup of some kind....

Sorry but this is the worst D we've fielded in this era.

No ability to get the ball back or get off the field.

We're relying on the other team's ineptitude and if we don't get that, we just get ground to a pulp.

TOP is on the D as much as the O in a couple of these games this season.

We've got a lot of weak points and the coaches that are good at breaking down film are killing us. Moxey, Williams don't seem to know their assignments and just give away space, Williams just stops playing when he short circuits, Moxey is running away from the ball all night. Nichols is way too easy to beat if you isolate him. Other than those guys giving up 300 yards a game we're pretty good.

Give Dinwiddie his Argos personnel and we probably give up 50 last night.

T.O tho had injury issues...Generally its Ungerer...Coxie didnt play

I'd actually contact Rhymes and see if he willing to lace em back up...we could use a guy in the group who has attitude...can play like a dickweed and irritate defenses and add some physicality.

Its not like he some old washed out guy running on fumes...was almost a 1000 yard guy last yr and can win battles...and blocks well...he'd be a nice option to clear/open up space for our other guys, and help in run game downfield....

Have not been impressed with the our defense as a whole, the secondary in particular. Its consistently been a strength but Moxley has been worse than advertised and Nichols has gone from stud to turd. The lack of forced turnovers is highly concerning also. Pretty sure were dead last averaging like 1 a game. Edmonton is at like 20 already.
