I don't think Ryan Dinwiddie should be critical of anyone's arm strength

  • Absolute master class from Dinwiddie on how to show everyone that you were propped up by incredible scouting in Toronto

"Dru is a quarterback that would see acres of open space downfield and choose to run for a first down. I want a QB that will throw an INT instead" - Ryan Dinwiddie, probably

Yeah, you do have to have some way of getting the best out of your teammates, especially at critical moments. That side of leadership is extremely hard to see from the fan standpoint. I hope Dru has that; he for sure has a lot of the intangibles going for him. The thing that gives me the most hope with respect to his leadership is the late game-winning drive when Zach got concussed, and the big comeback win after Zach was pulled here. He stepped in, and the team stepped up. You see that with general QB changes sometimes- not leadership at that position, but that is usually when the situation is easy, and the comeback is a surprise. Dru came in and elevated us and carried us to wins.

My biggest concern with Dru is health/consistency. If that is good when the day comes for him to take over, we will be in a great position.

Thanks, and yeah, the ops cap is a dumbster fire. It needs to be directly tied to league revenue or the player cap. If anything, that is the best place for the league to invest money on a team-by-team basis. Better coaching and scouting means a much better product and more money for everyone.

I'm hoping we see a change next season with the new tv deal. Tha admin cap is eiminated & the salary cap is again substantially increased.

Just off field but not on field.

to get a starting QB and one who likely has you set up already for 2027 with zero panic come season end...thats pretty par for course...actually a pretty good deal as we didnt have to give up a current asset and we improved our second rounder.

They are swapping the 2027 first round pick for the Bombers 2027 2nd round pick they used to go grab Daniels aren't they?

So they moved back 9 spots to get Brown, plus the conditional pick if he sticks next year

depends what we running...some 2 true safety sets..we will use 2 guys...then run it again flip em around...sometimes add a totally different guy onto it...so someone has to fill their spot...will have the sam play a hb role and role the hb into the sam spot...we bring kelly in...and not sure wtf role he is..and who comes out cause of it...we will play a lb at end or as a modified rush end/jack....then sometimes run Kramdi up to do it and not sure who falls back to his spot...or we swing Griffin there to do it, so someone has to pick up the SAM spot....Just too much moving parts, and guys playing a role they not really suited to, just for "confusing" the offence?

If you want a rush end/Jack kinda guy for some sets...dress one who is bult for and is actually suited for it...Not a db or tweener LB...You want a strong safety type gig...Dont use a Kelly in that spot...as he is not it....We used to fail miserably using Hallett there...now its kelly...Smith played a role like that in College...and played it well...Know your fricken players and use accordingly...thats just some the examples

Not just, the guys on D are looking around at 5 guys running onto the field every play and wondering who is lining up where and they will never work as a unit when the unit is never the same for even 2 plays in a row.

A big part of a defense is knowing what the guy next to you is doing and who has your back and who might need your help depending on what the offence throws at you. You have too many guys coming in and out it's really hard to get that chemistry

yup...that too....how are guys supposed to be in any synergy and basically just react and know player X is doing what he supposed to beside hi,...and Player Y is supporting...etc....when you have to know the traits of 2...3 different guys ...never gonna work

And from an ex. defensive player talking from experience you need to be out there play after play...and with same guys to get into any flow and a groove...and be able to recognize and take advantage of who's across from you in a game and hat they are doing....or not doing and exploit it...if u are getting random snaps..here and there at your position...then multiple snaps in someone else's....well good luck with that...Or scheme and philosophy just puts guys in a disadvantage right outta the gate...and a good reason why a lot of times...more often than not we seem unprepared and confused and take a half of football to figure it out, only to have the opponent adjust to our "adjust" and guys finally being in a flow and putting the dagger in us when it matters...we see that alot

Just watching last night alone...other teams playing fast and free...intense...aggressive and hitting hard....but we almost seem like we playing in mud...tentative...minimal intensity ....there's a reason for that

I mean....they scored 94 points. Im not sure yesterday is a great example of intense defenses. There was plenty of missed tackles, lack of pressure & bad coverage from both sides.

I never paid much attention to the Stamps as I'm a Bomber fan but my eyes have been opened having watched them in Kelowna & last night in person. They run with 3 American receivers & two Canadians. It may be four if Clark Barnes is American, not sure. Every receiver they have is dangerous & can catch. They have their possesion receivers but they have two guys who can go deep & make contested catches in Jaylen Philpott & Tevaughan Campbell. Every receiver is used & is dangerous. They have the best DL in the CFL. It makes you wonder what the actual "you know what" we are doing as an organization. We can't compete with teams that are fast & physical. Our offense looks slow & ponderous. We certainly don't seem to have a physical defense. Especially on the DL. What kind of scouting & recruiting do we have?? After the game, Dickenson said on 770 CHQR that there is going to be changes on defense. He isn't happy with the talent & effort defensively & guys will be replaced. Different culture on the Stamps. They look good.

They run 3 Canadian receivers ... their Canadians are Philpot, Brissett and Barnes. I also don't know what you're trying to get at when you say "every receiver is used", they had 2 guys with more than 3 targets yesterday and they put up a 50 burger. Also, Tevaughn Campbell is not only not a WR, but he plays for Saskatchewan ... not Calgary.

Still played fast and free tho...tackles are gonna be missed as a good functioning offense is gonna be playing like that too..so you would think they gonna make plays just like the defenses did...thats football

And there was a lot of pressure..and a lot with just 4 guys..and also was guys in same role..same positions for most part..also both teams..actually all teams for most part this yr if you watch their defenses run with their starting 3 LBs basically for entirety of game save for a few looks..give a guy a rest/injury etc..not the nonesense we see

Okay, whatever... The guy who wears #4 for the Stamps. Tevin Jones. Not Tevaughan Campbell. Jones is a dangerous receiver. As is Philpott. Their 3 Canadians all can catch. They all contribute. Brisset was quiet in Kelowna but busted out for 2 tds last night. The Stamps don't put in a token Canadian as a starter just to run routes as a wideout. We all know that defense win championships. It starts on the DL for the Stamps. You win by controlling the LOS. The Stamps DL only had one sack last night but they pressured & hit Kelly play after play after play. That's where it starts on the LOS. We'll never win if we get into a track meet like last night.

You can say what you want about Dickenson. I know that he's an unpopular figure around here along with his brother. However, the culture of the Stamps is far different than the culture with Winnipeg. This FIFO thing we suppoosedly used to have has been replaced by favouritism & politics towards certain players on our team. the "favourites" we'll call them. Veterans that shouldn't be starting over younger prospects. Roster decisions that hamper our team. We all talk about it here so it should come as no surprise if it comes up.

In a thousand years, doing a million interviews, Osh would never call out his defense in public saying that changes are coming. That the personnel isn't good enough. Even if the Bombers gave up a hundred points in a game he'd have nothing to say. Dickenson did it on the radio without being asked. He just said, "Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, even though we won tonight our defense just isn't good enough".

Dickenson's comments caught play by play man Mark Stephens off guard. He stammered in surprise but Dickenson had something he wanted to get off his chest. Dickenson said the ending of the game really stuck in his craw & was very unhappy about it. So the team will be looking at bringing players in for a look see. Other than the DL which has played well, all the Linebackers & DBs should be nervous about coming to practice this Tuesday.
