SNF - Elks at RBs

Was busy Thursday and was at last night's game... Excited to finally sit down and watch some CFL on TSN.

Think both of these teams will be better than most believe... The RBs are better with Dru than Maier, but there's still potential. Faj is still a noodle armed nobody, but with a proper game plan, he can at least give them a chance.

Featured Replies

Elks short yardage qb Snyder gets a yard for the first down and seems to glitch out with a celebration. lol

Pouring rain in Ottawa is going to make this a very ugly game...

Faj and whining about perceived non calls... Name a more iconic duo....

Rain or shine, it's going to be ugly with the two worst teams in the league.

I really thought Ottawa was going to be better... Stillmtime I guess but maybe I overestimate Dinwiddie's actual abilities...

Nick Anderson is good and type lb we need...damn him tho cause it's due to him we have Jones...cut the vet for a raw rookie...see Osh..its allowed and can be done

How patient will Dinwiddie be with JM if he continues to struggle?

What a weird set-up with their qb situation especially with the big contract given to JM.

Surely Dru Brown could give Ottawa a better shot than Maier, Jake blows.

Dinwiddie is a moron. Benching Dru Brown for check-down Maier and benching your RB1 big free agent signing? Genius! Im beginning to think his success in Toronto was a fluke.

But his eyes! His wolf eyes!

His wolf eyes could've seen he had the chance to run for the first down instead of padding James Patrick's stats.

Dude thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room, it was telling seeing his former players almost getting into a fight with him in that Edmonton and Toronto game last season. Say what you want about O’Shea but that kind of crap would never happen. If he really believes Jake Maier is a better quarterback than Dru Brown his stint in Ottawa might not be a long one.

Benching Dru Brown for McCheese is one of the dumbest decisions in the league over the last number of years. Inexplicable.

If the mayor is starting over Dru....wtf was Dru doing during TC? Trying to play flag football? What horrible O the redblacks have.

I curious about th we benching of Bell..even moreso than the Dru thing..I always thought Dru was too low key and not a real aggressive leader type...Maybe thats part of Dinnwitty reasoning...But man Maier is just the poster child for unspectacular adequacy..can't see him ever grabbing a team and dragging them anywhere to be honest

I'm confused why people think Greg Bell was a healthy scratch? It was reported he had a neck injury

I could have sworn I read something online (possibly 3DN which explains a lot, if untrue...) about Bell being a healthy scratch and there was some mild shock about that...

I've said it in the past, I'll say it again. Dru Brown exudes leadership like a turtle sunning himself on a rock. It just ain't there. I think that is part of the problem with the guy & Dinwiddie sees that. The RedBlacks would be better to swing a trade with the Argos for Arbuckle. Dinwiddie knows & trusts him. I don't think Maier was the whole problem yesterday. That team has a lot of holes to fill.

If you have an "inspirational leader" shaped hole, you don't fill it with McCheese.

Probably because they had him on the reserve roster and not the injury list and he wasn’t listed on any official injury reports during the week

You're not wrong. 3DN went off the original depth chart which had Bell on the reserve list (not the 1 game injured list). Ottawa then put out an updated depth chart which led to 3DN having to edit their article.

Editor’s note: The Redblacks originally placed Bell on their reserve roster, before moving him to the one-game injured list and releasing an updated depth chart. This article has been updated to reflect that change.
