Playing a road playoff game and the Grey Cup cost them more than the revenue they earned from hosting a home playoff game.

I can honestly say...I played as a minority most my career...especially in college and was never an issue nor was there any negative things said....any names and handles added to a player was all fun based, the worst and most offensive people and the ones first to complain and try to start a cause is the white's....More times than not...hence the white trash among others is appropriate and shouldn't offend anyone and if it does they can eat a bag of dinks...

BTW I am mostly white myself, and have no issue calling them out...

There are words, but not the equal of racial epithets thatve been used on subjugated minorities. Honky has meaning to some one i’m sure, but it doesn’t have any power to make people feel maligned. Many of the white derogatory terms come from other white people.

We’ve both been to places in the southern us where you palpably feel the difference. We have the awareness and diverse experience to recognize it. But we’ll never know how that feels for the other side. Even in places where we are not welcome or out of place for racial reasons. The experience of growing up in that, and it being over top of you and all like you for generations with countless atrocities under its belt, just isn’t understandable from the outside side. Similarly, attempts to replicate it just aren’t the same.

I used honkey because it can refer to white people but its not the same as others that I would never post. My point was that its not ok to use these terms for sports team names or in every day life. Can we get back to football now?

That’d be good. I think they only help we will see along the dl will be from with in the league.

More like having to give refunds for that smoke game postponement cost the Riders a profit.

When Tyler played JUCO in Northern California he became close with a handful of black offensive players motly from California. There were more blacks on the team than whites. There was a black Offensive Guard whose first name was Cyole (pronounced Kyle). Tyler being the dumb white Canadian thought his name was pronounced See-Yo-Lee. The team picked up on that & nicknamed the kid See-Yole-Lee.

Midway thru the season, some of the black players told Tyler they'd allow him to call them all ******'s for one day only. To which he did. The team was close nit & won the JUCO championship of Northern California. Everybody got along. When Tyler got married, a number of his former teammates black & white came to his wedding. Team dynamics sometimes (but not always) have a way of handling underlying tensions such as political issues/racism without making them issues.

Sure, but literally looking at the numbers what I posted is accurate.

It cost them more to travel for a playoff game and Grey Cup than the revenue they earned from hosting a playoff game.

Overrated, overhyped, fairweather joke of a fan base.

I heard about that yesterday. For those who don't want to watch, he's basically saying that the changes to the field (uprights, size, etc) are going to cost too much and every team except Winnipeg is losing money... So there is no appetite to shell out and make those changes.
