3 hours ago3 hr Author Ya so the 500 million does seem to be accurate. Being reported that it's a bump of 3.5 million per team, from this.
3 hours ago3 hr Is DZN taking a game from TSN every week, or are they just airing the TSN on their service? I don't see how them taking the game would be beneficial for the CFL. Streaming the TSN feed makes sense....but just taking a game a week would suck.

I can't foresee a circumstance where the CFLPA doesn't go in that direction with the player's share. Maybe they keep a bit for benefits but the lion's share will be SMS and it will be a massive increase. We may see a whole bunch of million dollar contract receivers next offseason.Money in 2027 would affect the 2028 cap. If all financials are reported in a timely manner.

TSN has the broadcast rights to the remaining games. That means DAZN will have their own commentators, production, and so on. Think like the Amazon Prime NHL games on Monday nights.

2 hours ago2 hr .....I think that there will be quite a few fans dropping out of the DAZN broadcast, when a new subscription is required to get one game...AND if that remains the case I will just wait for next day hi-lites

If so, the SMS increase would be pretty large. The CFLPA has to be very happy today.i can’t imagine it would come into place before the deal is being paid out. Can’t believe they got that kind of money. I could see the league wanting to slowly increase the cap with respect to this gain. soo many teams are in bad shape, I think the governors will want to pocket some money before passing it on. 1 hour ago, rebusrankin said:Given the new deal MBB better step up with a raise for me next year.100%, you’ve been an under paid asset for too long. You should get any % increase you want… 🙃48 minutes ago, Stickem said:.....I think that there will be quite a few fans dropping out of the DAZN broadcast, when a new subscription is required to get one game...AND if that remains the case I will just wait for next day hi-litesnew streaming service plus massive rule over haul, I think the old guard (ie us) are going to be hit pretty hard for a while. But maybe it’ll allow the league to reach the demographic it needs in order to out live us.Then again, you are all stubborn bastards, every last one of you. (not me though… :p ) so the old guard might surprise the league with refusal to let go.

Not sure what to make of this? Will Ottawa keep Brown at his salary to sit as 2nd string? Keep in mind they have 3 other QBs that looked very impressive in preseason game 1. Would Ottawa cut Brown loose or trade him? Would we be open to bringing him back if there was the possibility? I WOULD. At any rate, whoever shakes loose from Ottawa, I would be very interested in bringing in and having a look see. They can't keep them all. Dinwiddie is very impressive in his ability to guru QBs. What he got out of Arbuckle the last 2 seasons after his career looked DOA, how he got Kelly playing very good ball in a short amount of time etc.Doesn't seem to be a game or just an extra long look, Dinwiddie has made his call. He let them know a few days ago that Maier would be the starter going forward.Ottawa Redblacks officially name Jake Maier starting quarterback for 2026, demote Dru Brown - 3DownNation
