Regardless if what happens the rest of the way... Do you bring back Nield next year?

As depth. If they want him as a starter then please. No. He & Cobb can leave through the back door.

I feel like with his contract it's start him or cut him

Depends how much the cap goes up but Nield needs a paycut.

making the money he is....those were some real bad drops this yr that he just cant be making....and really he has been basically invisible all yr

I'd prefer we run 4 imports...Demski as our main Canadian..and re-up Clercius and actually integrate and evolve him

With the cap increase, I’d spend deep on offence this off season.

I’d bring in the imp wrs to run 4, the ni wrs to run 2-3, the ni ol to run 3 or more and the imps to run 3 atleast. Bring in a 4th vet qb too.

Let guys battle for positions, accept that you may cut some one who got bonus money or sit em on the inactive/ir waiting for injuries.

If you're Clercius, do you really want to come back?

You know it's Osh, right? He already knows who his starters are next year.

Guys, don't worry about next year. I'm a Season Ticket Holder and Wade Miller has reached out for my feedback. That survey will fix all of our problems.

The Bombers, Jets, and the Provincial Government all seem to be going in the same direction (we know what you want people and we see what’s wrong, but we’re doing what we want anyway 😤).

There's zero reason to run an American kicker next season if the rule changes hold. Find a Global or Canadian, run an Aussie punter.

That American spot can be a rush end, OL, or offensive playmaker to give flexibility.

We need to fix both lines. We need a pass rush. New rules are going to mean more teams avoiding kicking field goals so the bend, don't break **** will kill you because teams are going to actually push to keep drives going all the way down the field.

yeah we definitely have to switch up our thinking and not keep looking back at what was...and worked. Teams already have been morphing things to an extent while we have been standing pat, and well we have witnessed the real time decline

I'd prefer we go a national kicker who could do all 3, and the new rules we dont need to have some long bomb field goal guy as they gonna be few and far between now

There's a lot of global talent out there hat could prob give you more value elsewhere if you did your homework than a punter anyway.

2027 needs to be the yr...probably 3 yrs over due now where we abandon this rigidity of our roster makeup in regards to where we pre-designate our Nationals...actually pre-designate many spots national and american. Actual open competition should reign supreme and if it means a vet gets cut/pr'd/bumped to a backup...so be it

A new guy/second yr guy if good enough...and with adequate coaching can play...they don't need seasoning on a PR...Thats just nonesense

We broke camp...I recall saying Reese should have been on the active...Singer as well and starting...Fletcher should be in rotation...Our best center was Eli...No reason Smith should be second fiddle anymore

Down the stretch and especially in the last reg season game and in the playoffs...who made some real key plays and helped get us o the ESF...Singer...Reese and Fletcher (who has gotten better and better) ...Eli solidifying the interior and making proper calls (Just look at the game winning TD series and how he was key in keeping the pocket from caving from the middle allowing Dru to have the confidence o stand in there and drop some solid pass from pocket) Not to mention until he got hurt Smith being one of our best impactful defender....Its no rocket science to see/assess talent and where and how to best utilize if you take off the Bias glasses

Imagine where some those guys would be if given the reigns right outta the gate...and wonder what others may have same potential buried behind Osh and his piss poor ideas and assessing?

Across the league, mid tier guys (Clercius etc.) needing new contracts will make out like bandits because there is only so much quality to go around. This would even make Nield's contract look palatable.

I wonder what a guy like Geno Lewis could command next year?

Personally for our WR group I'd retain Pokey (as your 2nd or 3rd import) as well as Singer (tho I can see the serious potential of him being a legit #1) and I would then sign the biggest play FA available in FA...At whatever it takes. White I don't hate...but also don't like as your top guy, and really if its a question of 2 of him and the other 2 already here...you gotta go with the upside and the youth. Singer was on a 1455 yard pace this yr based on his 8 games played and Pokey has just got his second 1000 yr in a trash offence. That's a pretty good 2 and 3 behind a legit playmaker.

Demski comes in as the top Canadian...and I like the big body and hands of Clercius as he main sub....And if we carry 3 national receiver's then let Neild earn a spot in camp over any draft pick or National FA signing. Him and Clercius gives really nice depth behind Demski. Corcorran and Cobb have zero reason to be back and would be jus a waste of cap space and bodies in camp...Neither will supplant the 3 mentioned so we even bother??

But our main offseason plan needs to be bringing in legit speed demon and big bodied dominant guys to camp..we have enough guys like Singer..Pokey...Demski..White...We need that extra body type/Athlete to compliment those guys

Same can be said with DB...we need to get away from this love of waifs and smaller statured DB's...Our secondary for most part last several yrs has been a group of pipsqueaks...waifs and weak tackling guys who strike zero fear in anyone and continually get out muscled ...Bigger guys can cover too...jump...and run...But also can lay a boom and have WR have a tendency to get alligator arms....not just free wheel thru our secondary with no worries in the world like we see converting big play after big play

Wade was smart to make the survey mainly about sponsors and partners. I don't think they would enjoy (or are even interested in) our opinions on the way the football side of things has been going.

If it was one game where neild had some dropsies that's one thing, but it happened again and again and again. Dude had like 2 game where he played good, several where he played bad, and mostly he was just a uniform filler doing nothing much of anything.

Just a waste of a roster spot IMO.

Agree! I do not believe he is of value and not needed IMHO going forward.

If he was a backup he’d be whatever but they’re paying him starter money and he simply isn’t worth it.

yeah for a guy who never cracked over 540 yards in a season before, never had a pro rated pace higher than just over 700 (and that was his great yr btw) in 5 previous yrs should have been an indicator of what he was...average kinda guy...good depth/role...Not sure who was the biggest driver for that signing but with the other wr available in FA that yr, and for money we put in to his deal...utter flop.

He's signed for next yr and based on history and Osh...He a slam dunk to be back starting sadly even if not a ratio requirement...you can take that to the bank

Now if he earns it and shows not just a flash of brilliance in camp...but all camp instead, and clearly beats out the 4th or 5th best option in all of camp than so be it...But if he doesn't...and is gifted the starter spot when another new Singer out preforms and shines in camp...Osh needs to be kicked in his empty sac.

He would be a more than decent backup and teams player...and earn back his spot...if he is able...That goes for any spot too...Not just Neild...

I’m betting that will be true. I think nield will still be a bad deal, but we are no stranger to paying canadians before they perform up to a level.

Don't see that this was mentioned yet but we made a few futures signings the other day.

OL Temi Ajirotutu (was in camp with Hamilton this past pre-season)

DL Norell Pollard (had cups of coffee with Calgary & Ottawa)

DB Clay Fields III (also an Ottawa cast-off).

Ottawa cast offs? That's like rummaging through the dumpster behind the 29 cent store.
