Plus the DBS who came off the bench for Moxey were better than he was too.

This is a pattern with O'Shea and we simply don't know how many improvements never got the chance. They could have left singer on the pr all year and he could have disappeared from the CFL and we'd be hearing the same old song and dance about no one goes anywhere else and becomes good.

We're round about a .500 team when the handicap themselves with roster moves that often are puzzling, you think with better roster management they couldn't have already locked up a playoff spot before the final week of the season?

Who are all these guys being held back? Smith and Singer are the only guys in several years that have come off the bench and played far better than who they replaced. This whole wasted talent thing is being grossly exaggerated. Smith had mental health problems and Singer is starting in his rookie season...thats not being held back. If there is a plethora of talent being held back right now how about some names? If there was in past years then surely these guys went on to have impact careers elsewhere?

nobody here gets a true shot over an old aged out vet...or just a favorite of osh who can have anywhere from 2 to 4 yrs tenure....and we have witnessed that "true"open competition never occurs here in TC and positions a lot of times are pre-determined regardless of what goes on...or went on in TC....That also cant be ignored.

So in all honesty we have no clue who is being held back...or was just released over a lesser player

It's not like the last 3 yrs we have top tier talent across the board that could supplant their piers on any other team, so if other teams see us releasing a guy over the crap we kept...then they likely give Osh the benefit of the doubt that he can evaluate...and he cant

Most guys in all camps come in with great tape...high recommendations and actual ability...Its how you recognize it, and you ability to get most out of them, or find the spot to allow them to succeed that separates the good coaches from the weak

You always get on your pulpit that nobody goes on to be a hero elsewhere, and that is kind of a meaningless point...Teams invest time and money..Sometimes yrs in working to get a guy up here, so they wont kick em to the curb for a "Mighty Osh" cut. Thta's how you lose, and or what plays a part in your scouting staff leaving...see Cyril Penn as part of his reason

Also lost in the argument is the type of player and their "intangibles" that Osh asks for...or what he looks at as key..He relays that to his G.M in his wants...not the other way around and is force fed what he doesnt want in a player, as much as you dont want to believe it.

When we start having TC's here where competition is real, and the guys who show best "earn" and then "maintain" their job regardless of nationality, how they got here or how long they been here then maybe....maybe I would change my opinion on Osh not being the issue and that he isnt a total moron...But until then why would I? And success here can be achieved by just deleting one piece of the pie...Not the whole thing

Cobb & Corcoran starting/playing ahead of Singer??? That's okay?

No it's not but thats the exception not the rule. Osh needs to go there is no argument from me about that, but because Singer is great doesnt mean that all our depth is.

How would we know if they only make changes due to injury? I mean you spent a lot of time explaining that So get actually sucked and that's why he was on the PR... So why we believing anything you say now about how good or bad the depth is?

Plus Texada, Vanterpool, Vaval, Eli, MCI, Clercius, Shay, and more.

****, we didn't even pull Zach last night! You know damn well we would've ridden into the grave of the season on Zach's shoulders without a thought of switching to Brown if Zach didn't go down.

When you lock one spot into a bad player, you don't just block out the more talented guy below him; you block out everyone below him. For instance womack.

Singer and Smith are the only guys who ended up getting through the roadblock of coaching, not by coaching decisions, mind you, purely by mass injury, and played at All-Star levels. That is 2 spots we denied ourselves All-Star performances at for more than half the season.

Just because other guys didn't end up breaking through and performing like an All-Star doesn't mean they weren't held back despite being better.

Since Eli took over at C, we gave up 4 sacks and fewer than 10 hits in 3 games. In the 2 games before that, we gave up 7 sacks and over 20 hits. We lead the league in sacks allowed overall. It is beyond question that Eli is an upgrade over Elsbury. He may or may not be the future at C, but he is a pure and clear-cut upgrade at every single facet of playing C, not just over Elsbury, but over Kola previously.

At that, Elsbury wasn't even our worst OL for most of the year; until around LD, Stan was by far the worst. If we had gone away from stan and started Eli, we would've likely been top 3, at worst right in the middle of the pack at OL. Instead of the worst.

Even at that, Vanterpool was our best OL at points over the past two years. To keep Bryant and Elsbury in over him is insane.

Vaval, Texada, and every other non-starting DB got a raw deal too. Nichols was brutal for more than 1/3rd of the season, Moxey was worse, Griffin wasn't the same post-injury, and we played Kelly more than any other backup imp DB, no matter who it was. Kelly played starter reps at DB, basically. He's barely a fringe 3rd safety on D.

Clercius and MCI rode the pine for Daniels, Corcoran, and Cobb.

Singer also sat while White and Wilson couldn't catch a cold.

The same thing has happened year after year. It's not the exception; that is the rule. The best players do not play here. Opportunities are not won; they are lucked upon by injury.

You dont know if a backup or pr guy is better unless they get reps...or opportunities...plain and simple...and to say our best are playing and backups and pr guys aren't is because they aren't better..and based on osh's history..and instances weve witnessed i will call bs to that..Osh picks who he thinks is the best option..and he sucks at it

We just waste young guys with non use..I bet on any other team Clercius and MCI for example would be used..and very effectively.

Christ did touchdown Tommy even play yesterday? Or all games for that matter, cause you'd never know..does he not have ability to get open or get in a good position for the QB to see him? And his hands suspect too...all Clercius does is catch it when thrown too..not sure what we paying him for his 40 catches and barely over 500 yards..but it ain't good value and not sure how he was coaches choice all yr as a starter...stuff like that just irks me...let underperforming guys play with no accountability..and neglect guys on roster who could actually do something...all due to a stubbornly dumb hc who can't see the 300 foot view

And many aren't earned...or justified to keep their spot week in and week out...osh likes u...u are a lock all yr...regardless what u do...or dont

You mean Zander Horvath?

yeah he's playing today - I saw that idiot out there for the Riders. Booch was asking about yesterday. Xander Horvath was potentially going for the record yesterday.

I have to say I love what Lapo had to say last night On the post game show. He said when he was coaching Milt, and talking about getting him the ball no matter what because he’ll make a play. He said Ritchie used to say “but yeah what about ___” and Lapo would say doesn’t matter just put it in 85’s hands. I feel like this is something Condells offense can learn. How many times did we use Brady efficiently down the field then just to try to get too cute or go away from him in the red zone. Same with Singer he caught all four of his targets for 119 yards. Let’s start making plays for him and getting him the ball because good things happen. Wilson and Demski combined for 7 catches on 13 targets for 49 yards.

Stevens is a joke. So is Horvath. Stevens can't even complete a quick slant & yet he challenges Milt for touchdowns scored in a season. MIlt scored from all over the field. Stevens from the 1 or 2 yard line.

Imagine Cobb playing 13 games instead of Singer? This is why I want O'Shea fired. For absolutely brain dead decisions like this. There have been much too many decisions like this that have affected the performance of the team. .

Yeah White was good. Nearly 1200 yards and 6 TD’s top ten in receiving yards. No problem with him he’s a low end one or good number two. But yeah imagine seeing Singer cook guys in practise during TC and for 13 weeks and you think no we have the best roster available to throw out on the football field.

Wilson too... 1k. Some people are just grasping at straws at this point.

Absolutely. But White was not who Singer should have replaced

So I'm not sure if this was noted anywhere but Vaval was 10 yards off from having the most return yards in a single season in league history?

Ended up with 1546 KR yards, 1066 PR Yards and 256 FG Return yards for a total of 2868. Eric Blount has 2878 in 1998.

1000 yards is not some incredible success indicator, especially when you go 88/130. white was dropped more then he caught half the year.

When you’re wr 1 and force fed the ball 130 times a year 1000 yards isn’t impressive

1 hour ago, Noeller said:

wilson dropped more passes then any bomber since k9

White and wilson are wr2s at best. neither is a guy you go to in the clutch and expect a tough catch.

reality is, a completely green rookie played 1/3 of the games this year and was our real wr1 the whole time.

White, demski, and wilson had a couple good performances each. but for much of the season the production from all 3 was basically padding stats. High percentage short passes short of first downs. Of that 3, demski was probably the best most of the year. He was far more reliable even though he isn’t what he used to be. Wilson is the only one with a future here.

Hopefully wilson will bounce back, and be able to flourish as a wr 2/3.

So I know AI isn’t always accurate but I saw Oliveria had a very efficient season. Nearly 1500 yards rushing and 1850 total yards but the 6.3 YPC stood out. Allegedly it was the third highest YPC for a running back that had 200 carries or more in the modern era! Very underrated season from Brady. I’m not going to lie early in the season I thought he looked a step slower but he was great down the stretch. I think we just take it for granted. Like we know how good he is but I feel like every week is just another day in the office for him. Very spoiled in that regard.

13 hours ago, Noeller said:

He said expressed it wrong, but the point is right. Wilson White and Singer should have been day 1 line up.
