I’m at camp today. First observation is DeShaan Dixon has the shortest shorts I’ve ever seen on a football player.

You know what’s kinda sad but weird at the same time? People on the forum here go on about a guy like Frederickson, myself included, there’s like 50 guys we don’t mention at all so despite the narrative a guy like Frederickson actually stood out. He was noticeable bad game 1. Noticeable better game 2. Singer was consistent. The DL guys were mentioned lots. The guys they kept did stand out and outside of maybe Clinton, but honestly that’s already a log jam at linebacker, and he may have turned down a pr spot. nobody else who was let go, they didn’t stand out good or bad. They were just there. Scouting could use some upgrades tho cuz Frederickson actually stood out. Was getting balls his direction so was either read 1 or doing something right.

Rando mcrandolpohersons' name will only be remembered if he goes else where and becomes an allstar.

Almost forgot about the best part of camp, the awards!

Best name, Stevie rocker.

No first guy gone, because we had a pretty crazy amount of retirements pre- and mid-camp this year.

Camp? who needs camp? Oladejo.

Made the club from the tub, List is too long and uncertain.

But most importantly, the MVP of TC, Taylor Elgersma. And for the first time in a long time, camp MVP has made the team!

Someone quick make the ideal depth chart and then make the one Osh be Oshin with the remaining players We have left here which still appears over the allowed limit.

Also we weren’t really that bad last year. The O was amateur hour all year with the Hulkster calling plays brother but we managed a respectable record with an O that did not exist most games. If the O improves even slightly, I dunno, logically we should win more games.

Now do I think Zach finds the fountain of youth? Nope. Impossible i tells you but I think there’s a better chance he stays healthy this year than last. And hopefully gets hit less cuz once he starts getting hit, he starts sucking. In the end CFL appears to be which QB can stay healthy the longest or all season even. Healthy Starter = good chance of winning more.

RE: Daniels. Perhaps we all start coming around when he makes the block that doesn’t get Zach carted off the field. Cuz he’s Dante Daniels the Canadian Marine, lead blocker extraordinaire. Or maybe cuz didn’t do **** preseason.

Jake Thomas at every position.

We were really mediocre overall, and one of the worst bomber offences in over a decade. Overachieved win-wise, which is kind of crazy.

The offence will be better from addition by subtraction. How that will translate to points scored is up in the air. Never know with a new OC/system. Hasn't Condells teams had red zone issues?

Daniels didn't do anything in practice either. He should start out on the PR to develop some.

Kinda late going.

Edited by Bubba Zanetti

I like the idea of adding a guy like Addison to the staff. Doesn’t replace anyone, another voice in the room and without knowing anything about his personality, he’s got the type of story you’d think players can learn from and appreciate.

and he was pacing as a 1000 yard receiver last year so I’m sure if we have an injury in the playoffs, he’ll be lacing them up.

He was a guest coach for us since rookie camp and I guess they like what he brought. He spent most of his career with Condell as his OC so he should be able help guys there.

Its a good add. A QB coach would've been better, but its late now for that. He must've been very well received by the O and the coaches.

Also, ott picks up Bailey. Probably just for the told-ya-so crowd on here 🙃

yeah...we have an aging core...we let a lot of young promise walk tho...and we need to change that. I not saying dump all yhour vets, but many canbe replaced by younger guys with upside and more skill, and not hurt you in the least

outside of Clercius/Demski/Neild he is the best backup Canadian as he can play inside...outside...return...run jet sweep

we go 3 national recievers...we have the worst group in league again...especially if one of Demski or Neild goes down...Clercius is already hurt, and there no guarantee Demski goes injury free...heck he didnt even make it outta camp with zero contact.

Add to that the fact we know damn well Osh will play a hampered/injured Demski who will offer minimal results as well...we\'ve seen it before so not a make believe story to trash Osh....

I'll wait to see what we do when injuries hit first but I agree the 3NAT receiving is extremely thin. I would kick Mayala's tires if I were Walters. I would hope that we would go 3NAT OL if Nield/Demski go down. It's unfortunate that Tui couldn't win the centre job because that would have allowed us another IMP receiver.

Mayala would be worth a look/workout/physical for sure.

We should get a preliminary look at the injured soon. I'm worried the pile of DNPs this week will be long.

Considering the number of american OL brought in did we really expect we were going to go less than 3 americans on the OL?

This all seems very much intentional in how they decided their ratio, regardless of what the roster might actually be best suited for.

Anyone seen any info from camp today? First official practice of the season today... Curious what the 1s looked like.

Don't think he will be close to ready this week, but he could've still won it.

Wheatfall was given every opportunity be the guy last year. He completely vanished after the first few games, when the team needed someone to step up. Wheatfall beating out the #3 import is something I'd be completely fine with.

Daniels did what he was asked to do. Remember when Walters wanted to draft him because of his exceptional catching and route running? Isn't that what his quote about Daniels is? The guy isn't going to be catching 5 passes a game. He's here to block.

Agreed about Rocker...though I don't know why they'd even bring him in to TC to begin with.

And I don't take anything away from Pre-seasons game either win or lose. But in 2019 in one game they scored 3 points. The Offense blew people TF up to start that year. I was pointing out that shitty preseason games don't point to anything other than shitty preseason games.

last yr shouldnt even factor into anything for this yr...the whole offence in general was disjointed and sad...There was lotsa vanishing

Not being targeted or a QB not having time to target a slower developing route cant be blamed on the receiver...and for a neglected receiver on a bad offence 650 some odd yards and 4 scores over 16 games isnt really vanishing.....350ish yards less than Demski who is considered elite, with less targets and being further from the QB and not a focal point of the offence really isnt that much of a gap for a 3rd/4th option at best....or does it say Demski isnt as elite as we tend to like to believe...I believe he is elite, when used right, and not subjected to heavy runs into the belly of the beast like we do, and how we continually knick him up, but not bringing a guy back after really 1 yr of developing with no real answer to replace him is pretty poor management...Bring him back along with new recruits and if he shows no more progress its an easy cut then

His blocking...especially in pass protection was not good, and sure he not gonna get 5 passes a game...thankfully. And not sure what he was asked to do that we didnt have to trade up and get a limited use guy for, where we already had people on roster who could do exactly what he did in pre-season is my point. And what he did do wasnt really anything that screamed...we gotta keep this gy around whatever way we can...Maybe they were playing sillybuggers and arent releasing the kraken until games matter....but what I saw in camp didnt really indicate some secret weapon to take the league by surprise...guess we will see

he's prob a better option than any import not named Wilson or White in all honesty lol

I like the add...as well as the Condell add as it seems we have learned from past and have moved on from just internally promoting even when not warranted...so kudo's to this decision

yeah...agreed Mayala should be on speed dial immediately as the season hasnt even started and Demski is already questionable...guy is proven and a cfl vet so no learning curve

If Eli isn't starting then its from injury...He didnt even take what...5 snaps at center did he? Elsbury was decent but not great. And if you are building your best roster you need to look at ripple effect of ratio adjusting.

Elsbury eats up a import spot swaying us to this stupid start 3 Canadian receivers and we don't have the horses for that, nor the depth and to do such a move that import has to be lights out good....it also takes away the ability to add that extra import defender...say a legit DT or another tweener gy who can play inside and out...so you have a avergae center...a weaker wr core....and a leaner defence

Turn that around...Start ELi who will be no worse than the pylon we had last yr....and likely after a few games settled in as one the better centers...a better wr group with 3 imports and possibly a new guy in that group that lights it up, and a deeper defense as you can add another difference maker there....And if Eli is knicked let Vibert at it, and didnt we draft this Daniels cause he was this shitkicker where we could forego using an OL in TE sets?....or so we were told

One dumb move can make the offence, and the defence weaker when you look at the whole makeup of things...who wants to wager cash on if we make a smart...or dumb decision?...lol

Other than injury, I think the only chance Eli doesn't start at C is if Mos is still that enamoured with the 6th OL role. Despite or maybe because of the TE.

Elsbury, I really hope his run game was hampered by not playing with the 1s enough, and that he takes a big step forward when he is in with them. His pass pro was a massive improvement over Kola, though he still wasn't what you would want or expect from an IMP interior OL.

Despite being 6'6 335ish, Elsbury is about as elite an athlete as you could want. He is very likely the most athletic guy on the team this year. 1.69 10-yard time is insane. Most of his agility/explosive measurables would've been tops or close to it for his position in the NFL draft.

He needs to translate that, though. Especially in the run game.
