You absolutely do. But you need those glue guys to contribute, and you can't have too many guys whose contribution is unquantifiable. The rosters just don't have the flexibility for that up here.

Id argue that some of our biggest glue guys in the GC wins, were guys who played at a high level as well. Kongbo, Hansen, prime Jake, biggie was a huge glue guy, etc.

I agree we've gone a little too far in using glue guy to keep some ppl. Just responding that you can't be entirely void of them either

I was looking forward to watching the QB battle. Certainly has the appearance of hurt feelings...but who knows what happened.

Also not sad to see him leave and thought there was probably a good chance he would not be on the final roster after camp anyway.

Good thing we have that Bison QB in camp, at least there's an arm around for throwing drills, unless Danny Mac wants to step up...

Writing on the wall is what's happening. Thorne was very clearly likely to be cut and Wilson knew he was likely 4th string with not much chance of moving up.

Well the QB fight for a spot on this team ended with a thud. Wasn't really much of a fight cause two spots were already spoken for.

I'd say that Wilson was behind Perkins for 3rd string as well

I'm not too sad to see Wilson leave, it's clear Elgersma will be the next QB hope (whether it works is TBD). It is definitely concerning that we have no other CFL experienced QB on the roster behind Zach. Wonder if we try to change that.

Yeah

Elgersma has been getting second team reps the entire camp. Perkins can be the SY guy and veteran ban-aid if needed. Thorne could have been our PR guy - but I guess didn't want to. But Wilson was getting cut if he didn't force himself into the back-up role and he didn't. So he beat Walters to the punch.

How is Perkins a veteran back up? He's no more a veteran than Ermergerdsma.

This game tomorrow will determine a lot. If the two rookies look good, they won't airlift a veteran like MBT or whatever... They'll find a neg lister to bring in.

If the rookies look like ass, however, then they might panic and being in someone with CFL experience (a "veteran", if you will ..)

Perkins is a veteran pro, just not a veteran CFL pro. Multiple years in NFL, UFL MVP, etc.

He’s more of a veteran in that he’s played professional football before.

Wilson shouldn’t have been kept around unless he had made major progress, so no big loss. Have to imagine they will bring someone else in, need at least 1 QB on the PR

I think bryce and elgersma made them quit. Thorne because no chance at qb3/4 and wilson because he wasn’t going into games as qb2.

yep. now maybe small chance it’s some family stuff or some thing important that took him away. but if that happened we would hear about it soon at the latest

as much a vet as wilson was. All 3 are in the same tier. No real live regular season action. Dividing up cfl tc vs nfl pre season regular season ufl play offs etc is beyond splitting hairs
