I'd love to be a fly on the wall for convos about what the team wants the OL to look like this season. Still no word on Stan and Paddy is curious just because they're usually among the first to sign back on. I'm not sure a wholesale change on the line is a good thing, so ideally you'd like to see SOME continuity but we're off to a good start....

Judging by some of the recent contracts I'm not sure we have the same information as the GMs around the league.  Kramdi at 180 and Katsatonis at 200k are mind boggling number that make zero sense unless the SMS is getting a huge bump.

The 2026 SMS increased by the $400K that was implemented in 2025. Most teams didn't get a chance to spend all that was available last year. Regardless the new SMS is being spent on some players being re-signed to higher level contracts.

Nope, leave the ratio alone. My concern is with individual contracts we are signing, not the composition of rosters league wide. If we are signing Ford to Kramdi's contract I have no issues.  If we are signing an elite NAT OL for 250k, I got no issues. It's about the amount we are signing guys compared to the average at their position groups. I don't like our GM resetting the market. The history of the SMS has shown that GMs who do that tend to be pretty unsuccessful. It is something we have never done until the past 2-3 years and our rate of decline is tied to it.

All I can hope for is that these mind boggling contracts we have seen, not just here but around the league, are because of a big increase to the SMS or we had a heck of a surplus of SMS left from 2025. As I have stated before, if that is the case I reserve the right to walk this back. However, based on what we know RIGHT NOW, KW appears to be overpaying. I love he has committed most of his dollars to NATs, I will give him credit for that.

All these "mind boggling" contracts are signed Canadians for the most part except for wide receivers like Lawler who are game breakers. Canadians get paid more because only 7 start therefore they are a more valuable commodity. The only way to stop it is to get rid of the ratio. There is no other way.

Kyle Walters taking out the trash.

Kolankowski was a bad player and ought to have been gone long ago, but it is unnecessarily unkind to call him trash.

Koala & Thomas are gonzo as players. Great news for the OL. It's too bad that Osh hung on to these guys for so long. They were so bad that they actually became the butt of bad jokes here & on the rest of social media. Any respect fans had for them as players disappeared years ago. That should never happen.

Jarious Jackson waves buh bye...

Onward and hopefully upward. It’ll be interesting to see who we fill qb coach with now. I hope this was planned on our part, i suspect it was since jackson is taking a lateral position.

I feel like we either go with a club retread, khari, glenn, maybe nichols, or we go with an upside guy from the us.

Id also love to get masoli or he retires.

Not convinced he was ever even really "here" here.

Walters freeing up cash for the big Jefferson extension!

Maybe.

Schmek, improved before his injury, as a back-up rotational piece with Lawson, combined with his play on Jumbo packages, he is a perfect fit IMO. I could be wrong but I don't think he will be ready for the start of the season anyway......

Kola moving on and Thomos transitioning into coaching, in conjunction with signing, mostly Canadian starters thus far has been IMO a great offseason start...

Imo, he’s perfect as a 3rd/4th dt / 6/7th dl. Like you said he’s very useful as a package guy in heavy sets on both sides of the ball.

We really need a great imp 3 tech who can  kick outside in both 30 and 40 fronts. An imp nose to rotate with lawson would also be fantastic.

Major props to schmekel whose crafted himself into a very good end of the roster canadian. Love to see a young big do what ever it takes to be useful. If he takes another step forward that would be incredible, but i’m not expecting that.

Nichols would be really interesting to bring in. The other former Bombers don't have any connection to Osh, so I'd doubt we see them.

Well now that the deadwood is removed....it's Tui's to lose....Pretty sure he'll step up

I’d still go after woodmansey if he hits FA, but Vibert is also a real sleeper at C too.
C is also a spot you can get a high floor draft pick to contribute at right away. Not every year, but many years. And we have historically drafted very well at C under the mafia.

Really?  doesn't a centre need a little bit of seasoning to call the blocking?
