Oh I know. It's not like some magical coaching is gonna give him the gift or reading defences or improve the amount of time it takes him to process that info and turn him into a franchise #1. But...with the right coach I could see him improving his mechanics, even at his age. He's the kinda guy that would/could commit to putting in the work to make the change...and wind up as a serviceable backup somewhere.

If I'm not mistaken it's been mentioned here more than once that The Blue aren't really known for finding and developing QBs

Fajardos base deal this year was 180k, mbt 185k. Patterson in the off season was 88k. Iirc strev was in the 100-150k range with incentives that could’ve brought him up to 300k range. 

Given all that, I think you will usually spend about 900k on your 3 qbs in the cfl right now. With starters in the 400-600 range including starting incentives. 

I think established vets, high value qb2s market is in the 175k-250k range. with fringe starters in the 200-350 range. 

Obviously how much you budget for qbs 3 will trickle down. for us, i could see elgersma getting 150-200 with incentives and opt out. While what will happen depends a lot on zachs health, I think we will likely be in a position where we want to pay for a vet qb3. 
 

So for streveler, i could see 150k, if he’s bringing enough value. which would be fairly easy if you can take the kids gloves off and use him as a full on battering ram. 

 

That said, I think one of he and zach needs to go. so if zach doesnt retire due to injury, id rather go in another direction. 

 

Wanna give a HH shout-out to Brady for soloing our O.  Vintage performance, no quit.  He was the only thing we had and they still couldn't stop him for the most part.

I don't know what people are hoping for with Streveler. He's been here pretty much 4 complete seasons, he's had 8 career games with more TDs than interceptions, 1 career game over 300 (304!) yards passing, 7-9 as a starter. The only QBS this year with a worse efficiency than him that have taken any significant snaps are Morgan, Masoli, Walker and Shiltz. 

If you want him here as that QB Sneak guy... sure I guess but that seems expensive and tbh Wilson seemed stronger in that role last year... but he absolutely should not be the guy you have out there throwing passes. I can't think of any one who has had the start he has had to his career and then put it together, past 31, post ACL Surgery.

Strev is done, time to move on after this season.

 

I'd prefer that we move on from Streveler. He's never going to be a starter. He's struggling as a backup. Hypothetically he could be a CFL Taysom Hill but I feel his salary is better spent elsewhere and I also fear that if he stays he'll be penciled in as the #2.

I agree with most, Strev. Looked bad.....but so did Zach for the most part......I can't fully defend Strev. but our offence has been garbage all year.....including Brady's usage. 

 

I really believe the issues are far deeper than Strevelor...far deeper

Collaros has not been great but he has been better than Streveler.

Oh I think no. I was just saying for QB Zach has been our best. I think we are screwed at that spot 

ZC has always needed top notch protection to be effective. He moves well but he rarely gets rid of the ball quickly. He also needs more guys who are effective downfield. This year's struggling offense is not a surprise at all. If not for warriors like Olievera and Demski, it'd be dire straits.

Yup. We now have 3 guys on O tho. Brady Demski and Pokey. Sterns was also looking solid before getting hurt so 4 plus Wallace and Vanterpool and Randolph on the oline. Almost there. Another big play receiver and a couple OL should be on the off season priority list. Along with DL.

Yeah...I am of same thought...I will pass final judgement after camp...with real coordinators....some legit offensive players...all we can do really...nobody is gonna trade us their starter

our lines are bad... that's why the team is bad... if you could magically make our DL and OL top notch and leave everything else as is... this team would be in the mix for 1st again...

Seriously though... what do we have to lose starting Terry Wilson next game??? Accidentally finding a good QB?

There will be guys available...id even target the 2 best Canadians and go 3 Canadians and save the import spot for dline

If we had a top dline...pressure defwnce and scraped the 8..9 men in coverage...even with this Canadian high-school offensive playbook...i bet we are at least a 9 win team right now

Yeah not talked about enough is the D is schemed like they still have BA and Bighill running things. I’m not sure I’m a fan of the very little pressure on purpose D. It doesn’t seem to be working cuz we lack the talent. How many sacks do we have. I’d assume there are players on other teams who have more or close to what we have. That’s a problem. Younger scheme not as effective as Richie.

Or, as some have posted here, TW is not good enough, CS and ZC are the best we have. If factual, wtf is he doing on our roster then? If we are reluctant to play our depth because they’re not good enough help me understand how that is not a huuuge problem.
