3 turds plus ch winds of change

1 mos hogan jy. horrible roster management, lack of adjustments pathetic execution.

2 both lines. no pressure with any front or blitz, couldn’t keep either qb reasonably clean or open consistent holes.

3 zach/chris. brutal in scoring range, un able to move the ball when we needed.

ch a lot to pick from but chris’ pick. three riders given free paths to chris who stands in and still tries to force it down field as he’s hit. that ball could’ve been thrown away and we’d be 2nd down in field goal range.

Dishonourable mentions, kola, sergio, kyrie, jones, vaval, holm, thomas, whole Dl.

honorable mentions, smith for his great stop on the missed fg, kramdi, wilson, demski, brady, and vanterpool.

Zach was on a bullet train to giving that game away long before he got rocked. Not a fun team to watch. Like at all.

  • Imo, if we jettisoned the thomas and kola, fixed the ratio on the lines to have the best talent possible, we’d see significant improvement. But i don’t think mos will have any willingness to make thos

  • Every week same problems, recognition and change from coaches? TBD but probably not. We killed the league when our lines dominated, now we have a bloody useless defensive line and a bad offensive

Curious - what changes do you see them making to right the ship?

I see so many issues with this team that I don't know how they can do that quickly enough to make a difference this season.

I would start by turning the WIL spot to a Canadian spot.  You have that, you have Kramdi and the rest of the D is flexible.  Open up another 2 American spots, use one on O, one on DL.  Woodbey, Wilson, Ayres...no more than 1 of them should be dressed unless you're going to try to use Woodbey or Ayres as an edge rusher.

I'd pretty quickly consider going to 4 Americans on the OL.  Because we aren't going anywhere with this group.  Way too inconsistent both run and pass.  Not going to unearth a Canadian out of nowhere and the ones we have can't play.  Dressing 2 of that group of Canadians would be all I could stomach.  Would be looking at calling back guys we cut, had a crapload of Americans in camp, or guys from other CFL camps.  See if you can stabilize for rest of season.

I'd be looking for another receiver/RB/returner option.  Echols could be it.  But should be trying to sign others for a look.  Looking for a spark from someone as a playmaker in the last third.  Guys like Mitchell, Wheatfall, easy to drop them while looking for that spark because they are providing nothing most weeks.

Going with a 4 American isn't always going work.  Look at BC, 4 Yanks and they still get beat by Canadian players.

I genuinely don’t think any changes we can make between now and the rest of the year can make any difference whatsoever. It’s too far gone.

Start planning and introducing for next year.

I disagree with that. You can make changes and while it might not be significant, it will have a cumulative  effect that just might make the sum of the parts greater.

There's a **** load of complacency going on right now, changes end that PDQ

We’re going nowhere without Collaros. Good chance we weren’t going anywhere with him, but Streveler is bad bad.

If Collaros is out long term, now is the chance to change centres. Based on play, I’m assuming Kolo was only in there bc Collaros was comfortable with him. I can’t watch him chase another dt to the qb.

Echols replace Mitchell. Houston into the starting lineup. Woods in for an American lb. Pray we find a qb…

I agree with you in theory, I just think we are SO far away right now. I suppose if Elgersma comes in and turns out to be Joe Montana …

Wilson, Demski and Brady is a nice three headed monster on O but everyone else is just so god damn useless. Our D is sturdy but has what seems like absolutely no playmakers. I guess you could call Houston a potential playmaker depending on what he’s got left but one isn’t going to be enough.

I just don’t know what change you can make that is going to make us even somewhat impressive at the line of scrimmage.

Well I bet you we see some more intensity if the slacking veterans start losing jobs.

I agree. Pick a guy who’s underperforming and make an example of him. This team definitely needs a kick in the ass.

We've seen our line with 3 Americans, it was better.

Wasn't much better.  Very few running lanes for Brady and still gave up way too much pressure.

The first game with Strev starting, they were solid.

So then let's bench the worst one and get a real centre and see what happens.

Yeah I know but you're not going to find a Canadian who can play in Week 15.

Holm is about the only guy who ever makes a play on the ball in coverage.

My choice would be Willie Jefferson. He knows he's untouchable so he just half asses his way through games hoping for a knockdown. We need someone who will try and at least make the qb have to move or something.

It's unfortunate... Especially in a GC hosting year. But I'm not interested in all the things that were supposedly done wrong... I'm more interested in how we fix it going forward. Time to get to work... The season isn't over.

Of course you're not interested. You've been singing the praises of the Canadian Mafia for 12 years. Despite decisions that negatively affected the team by both Waters & O'Shea the past 3 years. Looks like they weren't as good as we thought &  just extremely lucky in 2019 & 2021 when all the pieces fell into place Twelve years. Time for a change.

I'd like to see how Jefferson with just a competent DT beside him before he's released. And in a four man front... with 2 competent DT's.

Tough to win football games when you are getting beat in the trenches on both sides of the ball

And coaching sucks...and refuse to change anything

Only change we will see is at qb and again...only cause of injury

Osh truly thinks we got a winner...and they doing all the right things and it will just work out....cause it did before...he is completely clueless

Read above...that be the only change...and honestly...based on history they probably trot ZC out there

Fire OC, promote Jackson?  That's about the only big move they could make?

Next season they could use 2 - 3  new starters out of free agency.

At least. Changes need to be made on both lines. We need to upgrade our receiving corps. If there are any free agent qbs out there we need to try to sign one or two of them.

Not gonna win many games in the CFL scoring 13 points.

Was cool to see Brandon Alexander walking around chatting with fans in the tailgate area. Dude still looks like he could play lol

I think they would have to screw up EXCEPTIONALLY hard to not sell out the last two games.

Huge season ticket base means there isn't a ton of inventory to sell plus the aforementioned party atmosphere... And those last two games are STM ticket exchange games

What is a STM exchange game? Asking because I know we can't make the game on the 27th and we've got 4 tickets.

Is Willie just saving himself for the playoffs or simply past his prime. Even then he took plays off.

I've never utilized it but AFAIK you call up the office and say you want to exchange your tickets to ones in the last two games and they make it happen, and your tickets go back into general sale.

The frustrating thing with Willie is that he has shown flashes the past... 8 months. The Grey Cup he was lights out. In Week 9 he earned the highest PFF rank they've ever given out. And then who do you replace him with? At least some of the other underperforming veterans you have someone who can slide in or they are actually blocking someone better... which is probably a huge part of the problem.

3DownNation is hit or miss IMO in some of their coverage but this made me chuckle

3DownNation received several complaints that my postgame column from the Labour Day Classic focused exclusively on the Blue Bombers. To be abundantly clear: this is a column entirely about Winnipeg. If you’d like to read about Saskatchewan’s performance, 3DownNation also has postgame columns from Joel Gasson and Peter Klein that focus exclusively on the Green and White.

One of the changes that ought to be made is to sack the head coach and offensive coordinator. The season is lost, we've been soundly beaten by our arch-rivals twice in a row, and the message has to be sent that incompetence will not be tolerated. O'Shea, Hogan and even Walters have to know that they are almost certainly to be fired in a couple of months and can't be enjoying life. The sooner the overhaul begins the better.

That's a bit dramatic... for all the stupid things going on both those games were still there for the taking without said stupid things.

Start with some roster changes to get the best out of the group you have and go from there.
