I don’t have a good feeling about this game (or season right now tbh)  but I’d like to be horribly wrong.

Not too mention Bryan and Jefferson.  Could be a lot of changes in the offseason. But I doubt that they will move on from Zach.

the question becomes then who do you replace Collaros with? and what will it cost. We are paying about 100k premium on a compared to other qbs. The aprox difference of having lawler vs shoen

If you went down to a 2nd tier qb salary, you could add one of the top 5ish none QBs in the league. Or you could in that case add 2 of the best none linemen, or 3-4 db/lbers at a top of the second tier kind of level

But this is laughable.  This team was his in 2019 for the taking.  I know he was young, but the only reason Collaros is here at all is because Streveler was 3-5 with a team that went 13-2 and won the Grey Cup in games with Nichols/Collaros.

If anyone viewed Streveler as a starting quality QB, he'd be in Edmonton, or Hamilton last year, or Toronto, or Calgary.  He's just not that level of player.  He's a good backup with some unique qualities if he's healthy.  Which he's nowhere near.  Watch the guy throw a ball.  He's arm throwing, he's getting nothing from his core, hips and down.  He likely should not have returned until after Labour Day.

Promote Patterson...he came from closer to...and played under the more old school way...is a no b.s guy and would garner player respect ...that's how id go for the yr...also would relate a lot better to the u.s players and see/utilize guys accordingly in regards to skill..usefulness and deserved play

The 2019 game plan/play call was also brutal. Zach would’ve never been a mop in that system.

Hell Zach wasn't amazing at any point in 2019 anyway, streveler played as much jn the playoffs as Zach did.

It's a young coach league now. Age & experience are a negative, it seems. Patterson will be 64 in December. if anything, he would be a transition head coach if they failed to land the guy they really wanted.

As the interm replacement id go with him..not gonna get your guy during the season...after the season tho no sitting on hands till new yr.. get er started once cup is handed off on podium

Interim sure but there's no way Walters fires Osh with no new contract himself. Hey Noeller, you want to lose some sleep? If the losses continue both Head Coach & GM don't have new contracts. Both get fired at the end of the season. Or one or both walk. Have a good sleep.

If both aren't under contract, how do you sell the fanbase on new deals. if they're 6-12?

I am concerned of that too. Though his football IQ is enough that he can succeed on significnatly less athletic explosive ability than he had, if he can get to a new 100% and change his game. I don't think he was actually healthy enough to be playing at all this year.

yeah definately should have had a couple 6 game stints before we rostered him...was pretty obvious...we really pooched that situation....right from the get go...should have signed him knowing we likely could avoid half his salary....give any bonus deferred to lid point of yr at earliest....and signed Lawler.....go big in grey cup yr....or go home

Seems to me that no matter what, the Bombers are scrooged for this season. The main focus is likely to be minimizing the damage to the team and the confidence of the fans. I may well be wrong, but the only way for Walters to avoid the guillotine is for the team to walk on water after O'Shea is canned and/or have a helluva game plan for next season. Either scenario seems a long shot at best. I cannot see Collaros in the Bombers' future and Streveler is iffy.

Thing is you can have mid-season turn around in the cfl pretty easily. The key is you actually have to make changes.

We have seen a few changes on defence, in particular along the d-line....it seemed to improve the group......Now the backfield, they appeared to bench Bridges for Vaval. and Vaval looked decent in a small sample size, he seems to close quick.....I like what Parker brings but perhaps he isn't a safety. maybe put him back where he played well......I think though the the scheme is too much.....multiple times we have witnessed outright confusion...simplify it......hate to go back to the well, but maybe BA is still in shape..Is Cam Allen worth the risk....How close is Kelly to health

Wilson, Bonds, Parker, Holm, Nichols, Vaughters, Person, Adams, Lawson, Willie, Griffen have proven that they can play and be good....They aren't looking good so what is it...they all didn't forget or lose ability's.....Kramdi and T Jones have had flashes, and while Jake get's a ton of heat on here he is fine to rotate in......J Jones has shown he can ball, Maybe try Ayers off and him on.....The two new LB's in Shay an Smith have now got their feet wet in specials, can one or both have some rotation we dress them anyway.....Makonzo has started practicing again, he could help.....I think we can turn the D around without blowing it up.....

On offence, sorry but Zach has been bad, IMO time to give Strev. the reigns for a week or so with true 1st team reps and playcalling.....damn it if Brady is healthy USE him.........The O-line needs to figure out pass blocking,....the receivers are not getting it done Stearns tries and has been fine but is not a 1,2 receiver, Clercius is good for what he is, Demski is what he always is, Wheetfall has looked mostly good....but none are a true #1 barely a #2.... is Mitchel that guy...maybe but we will never know with him sitting in the doghouse all year....Corcoran looks better than I expected...honestly he has outplayed many of the Imports we have trotted out...I think Dalton will be a next year discussion, this is the biggest spot I believe we either need to see if Mitchel can fill, or we need to bring someone in.....

 

Specials other than return, but I thought Case had improved from last year.....have looked really good......

 

What we are doing is not working...let's not go drastic and look at firing coaches and GM's....but something needs to change....or those conversations will gain traction.....the season is salvageable...but for love of all things holy don't run out the exact same roster and game plans next week.........

Remember when we moved on from Nichols to Zach... made a difference right away.
