So what's the deal with Oak Park... Do they just go out and recruit the best of the best? Like they look for already great football players and then pay them to go to school there or something...? Or is Dakota actually a factory with good coaching ...

Got to ask, why the ask about Dakota High School?

Dakota does have a really good program. Back to back champs if I recall correctly.  I know they draw kids from all over St Vital. Can't so I know they recruit but I hear rumours.

Oak Park, I know pulled in kids from all over Pembina Trails back in the day.

I know I shouldn't but I'm already looking ahead for next season (with the assumption that this season is a write off).

I'm going to assume next season Hogan is gone and we either bring in someone from the outside or Jarious is promoted.

I'm done with Zach being our QB,  we are stuck with a huge contract next season and I can't believe he will improve after 2 terrible seasons in a row.   Strev also isn't the answer.

With all that being said... if possible would you straight up trade Zach for Chad Kelly?   Coming off an injury, the off field issues,  and Toronto appears to have moved on from him.  Outside of MBT , Tre Ford,  and several fringe back ups... I don't see anyone that we could grab and start immediately.

He's on his last year of his contract and a much higher upside then starting Zach for another season.    Outside of complaining about him being a sex pest,   I would think that's the best player we could get.

Dakota gets pretty much every good player from the Southeast part of the city. The Mustangs recruit players as kids, who then go to Dakota.

Wade Miller is really pushing co-op’s to get French Immersion schools attached to English schools so like Windsor Park can eat into Dakota’s ability to pull all the players.

Oak Park and Dakota have a huge advantage on all the WSD, RETSD schools plus rural schools in WHSFL who obviously have very limited catchment to draw from.

I get the advantage Dakota has, since they were the only LRSD school with a team before Windsor Park added their's this year, with Beliveau being able to have their kids play there. Oak Park however while dual track has Massey which is also dual track in their area and that's been a good program too. As for the rest of LRSD, I'm not sure where else you add a team, I mean possibly Glenlawn but there's no french high school nearby.

Another big imp G trying to translate to T. Played some DL as a redshirt freshman. Next year, he started all 12 games, first 4 at rt rest at guard. Next year, he played in 6 games, starting just 2, one at each guard spot. His last 2 years, he really excelled. He allowed 1 sack each year on 270 and 428 passing snaps. Had a stellar 95+% win rate on passing downs.

Quickly looked at the games left and the standing and my perfectly imperfect crystal ball has the West playoff picture looking like this;

Sask 1st at 13-5 and awaiting the winner of the western semi between BC at 11-7 hosting Cal. at 9-9 in that Western semi.

Wpg. and Edm. end tied at 8-10, but due to point differential Wpg crosses over to face Mtrl. in the East semi as Hammy who has the season series with Mtrl. awaits the winner

So in summary our Blue Bombers are East division champs winning the Grey Cup handily against who cares. Nice.

My crystal ball has the same matchups but I think BC may have to travel to Calgary. You have Cal at 9-9 meaning they lose to Tor & Edm which I don't see.  Toronto is on their what 5th string QB?  Edmonton is still scrappy but they aren't playing the uninspired Bombers again, and should be eliminated by that point anyway.  Calgary probably goes 2-0 to finish at 11-7.

BC has Edm & Sask so they have the tougher match-ups but it may come down to what Sask does with their roster for that last game.  If Sask wants all their guys sharp for playoffs then BC has a tough time in Regina.  I think BC also goes 2-0 or 1-1.  Going 2-0 gets them the WSF but 1-1 may give it to Calgary it so it's going to be a tight race all the way to the end.

A Bomber- Rider Cup game would be a once-in-a-lifetime event and great for fans. Sadly, I do no think the Bombers will survive the east final or semi-final.

I dunno, 2007 kinda sucked ass

Plus that would mean the Riders would be in our dressing room.  The thought of watching them beat us in the GC at home and then going to celebrate in our room is just gross - no thank you.
