Personally I think revenue is unique to each market. There isn’t anything they can do to all of a sudden make 30000 ppl go to game’s in toronto. Same with Calgary and whoever else not Winnipeg or Saskatchewan 

 

rules? There’s 5 or 6 games left. Field size? That is more work than people think and would cost money. 1 division actually might make the most sense here. Or it’s a merger but that ain’t gonna go well. I think going American when ppl dislike everything American right now would be the beginning of the end here. Read the room guys. We avoiding the USA. We don’t want to be them currently 

 

also what works here may not work elsewhere. Wade has created a social like environment centered around a football game cuz the soccer team ain’t drawing ****. Meanwhile in Toronto the soccer team draws but the cfl team don’t. We need a person who lives in torontos perspective to fix that mess.

Then again normally when ppl announce significant changes it’s not with 5 games left so if it’s immediately implemented then it’s 100 percent replay related. It’s something to do with replay or roughing the passer penalties cuz honestly you can change rules all you want but a significant change is protecting the starting QBs cuz nobody paying to see backups play. Thats a league wide problem and would make sense. Or AI reffing.

I honestly don’t know why you think that they’d be holding a press conference on a Monday morning to announce replay changes.

This is obviously a much bigger deal than you’re making it out to be.

15 yard end zones still keeps them unique. Uprights at the back of the end zone means teams that were kicking from 45 yards have to make it to the 30. No rouges out the back of the end zone gets rid of the weird bitching about missing field goals for the win. End zones 140 yards apart might make it easier logistically for shared stadiums with Soccer or to attract sideshow NFL games for... whatever reason.

I would be fine with almost all of these changes. Although when you change a bunch of things at once it is always hard to tell which ones are working.

For a league that wants to up the scoring if they do that, it'll kill it. Why do I think the boys & girls from Genius Sport are behind this? 

I certainly hope they get rid of the coaches cap.  It was a dumb idea to begin with.  However, I have a feeling the “major announcement” will be much more than that issue.

I said numerous times I wont say names for most part, especially names of other posters...Trust...confidentiality and respect is paramount in my opinion....but of they who know wanna offer up any info to you to make you feel just a tad better...giver....maybe it will tone down your constant rhetoric and denial of things I say....either way it doesn't really matter to me....Some posters make it entertaining as heck for me and would almost ruin the pleasure on my end...

The part I don’t get about this is I literally remember the days when GCn would talk about hearing things from players because of working in the hospitality industry.

I don’t get his obsession with doubting that players could talk to mere CITIZENS. I’ve had Wolitarsky in my basement for drinks, I’ve worked out at the same gym as Hefner, Suber and Willis. I’ve got to house parties at Swiston, Kowalczuk and Andre Douglas’ house when they all rented together. I’ve had to get Charlie Roberts a taxi home from the bar so he’d stop begging people for smokes. The stuff I’ve heard and the stuff you can hear as people around the city is out there. The interaction is there all the time, these guys aren’t millionaires with their own circles - they’re just dudes. Why is there so much doubt that Booch has similar access when we all know he’s got history coaching camps and being involved in training?

Because it’s the cfl. That’s why. I think it’s likely revenue related. If it’s on field it’s replay RTP or something they could introduce today. Why announce changes when there’s 5 games left. Could be as simple as starting the season earlier even. Major on field changes being announced but then not implementing them until next season seems like a dumb thing right now. Why not wait till season over. If it’s on field it’s something they can introduce immediately without really effecting things. You can’t rip up fields In 4 days and I’m not even sure Hamilton and Ottawa have the room.

During my 20's and 30's I had lots of friends/co workers who were friendly with Bombers/Jets players.   It's not out of the realm to believe that people on here have inside stories.    I'm still waiting to find out who knows what blackmail that Jake Thomas has on O'Shea... anyone?

O’Shea sees himself in Jake. A Canadian who has played a long long time. O’Shea didn’t go out on his own terms did he. Maybe he thinks Jake should. I think it’s probably that simple. It’s about having respect for the veteran but not having the heart to tell him it’s over cuz maybe O’Shea didn’t know when it was over for him. But he did release him years ago. Brought him back but did let him go so I’m not sure.
