I am thinking that if we do get a fully healthy Schoen and O. Wilson back that could be real game changers too.

IF we have a Wheatfall...Wilson..."healthy"Schoen...Demsji and Clercius then yeah thats a good group....Is Sterns relegated to PR/IR or do we DA him over Logan and let Vval do double duty, or does Dandy and Houston take the corner spots and Vaval is the extra db abd returner?

I wanna see Logan get a few more games in and get his sea legs back as he could be a real nice extra piece for us

Well, all those choices now become tough ones, and that's much better than the choices we've had lately. Good lord, we've had a choice of Corcoran or Cobb....yikes...choosing between Schoen/Wilson/Sterns is like night and day difference. Getting Mitchell and his 2 catches for 6 yards a game off the field is a no brainer so I'm not including him.

I've been saying for a while that Sask isn't what their record indicates. They've skated by on some smoke and mirrors. When I look at the last game, it gives me some optimism that we can turn it around, and once more punt the riders on the back-to-back.

When I look at the previous month and the games most of this year, though, it gives me cause for concern.

I think, as it often has, the roster makeup will be a strong indicator. If we get Lawson Jr. off for Houston/Dandy, get Woods on somehow, and get a serious boost to the WR somehow, it will be a great sign we are going to move in the right direction.

Our DBs as is, with the heavy rotation of the 3 NI DTs over all imps, I don't think our D could hold up to the riders' O. And with out a much improved WR core, I don't think our O has a chance at keeping up with the riders O.

yeah that last game as well was pretty revealing...ther DB backfield was weak as it was, and now will have more injuries to deal with now it looks like

And yeah...a few roster tweeks....an addition....we may be just setting up for that late season run...Is Houston/Dandy this yrs Taylor/Maston?

And we really need Woods on with Adams, Person..WJ and Vaughters and then just pick the the best of Schmeck and Thomas to roll with Lawson...Or better yet sit one and give Bailey his shot and see how that works

yeah...we've had no choices lol

If Demski is ok, I expect he will go no matter what, but we need him ok at least, and Schoen is better than the replacement level imp we've seen this year (which isn't asking much), and we get Wilson back in this 3-4 game stretch, our WR core should be plenty good. Also, if Sterns is ok to, he's not lighting the world on fire, but he's filled the Bailey role in the WR core. Tons of effort, toughness, busts his ass no matter what happens or where the ball goes, reliable catcher who Zach can lean on.

I'm not wild on Houston, but if he smartens up, it's hard for him to be worse than Lawson Jr./Bridges have been. I don't think Vaval is the answer at the other corner currently either, but I also don't expect massive changes in short order.

It's crazy how much DL success we had with the rotation and limited NI reps, and then when Lawson is healthy, what do we do? Give 90% of inside reps to NIs and go back to more than 30 fronts with all Canadians.

If we don't see the full bolstering of IMP WRs, I'd look long and hard at dressing Vanterpool when healthy. But not taking Wallace off, I'd play a lot of 6 OL packs even on passing plays. Say, play Vanterpool inside of Randolph. He's better inside than out, and Randolph has played a lot of blocking TE stuff going back to college. Vs 40 fronts, you have 3 blocking 2 on both sides of the line. You take the decision away from Kola largely as well, as he'd be blocking mostly away from the strong side. Then you have 2 guys who can split off doubles to pick up blitzes, twists etc, plus Brady on block and release.

We aren't spreading the field or stretching Ds well any way, I'd rather give zach extra time than an extra shallow target under neath the D.

From what I know Demski will be good to go....so no issue there...Sterns tho I think is a no-go....slight chance but wouldnt bet on it

Yeah Randolph is/was a TE...so he's also be an option to slip out for a pass...I'm sure that would catch teams off guard and do it only 1 time with a pass to him...and teams will have to account for him making space for a play maker

I don't hate this move, actually. Doesn't have a ton of wear on him, really interesting athlete with good experience and reasonable success. He's got a great first and second gear, very twitchy, explosive. And has a top gear, but is missing about 2 mid gears to make the most out of his top-end speed. He has probably 3 gears more than you can even use in football. He was a really good 200m runner, 100m, and amazing jump ability. He's a real solid back up PR/KR as well. Could do a lot of damage in catch and run stuff, and also on the sweep plays.

Always liked Swerve, had issues tracking the deep ball at times, but generally sure handed.

He has a bit of tread on him, but he’d be similar to Sterns at this point in his career.

Yeah...intruiging for sure...has good hands too

Wonder if we see him and Moore ...or both in lineup this week?

Schoen I think is a foolish add at this point..let him heal even more...the fact he trying to get back in with a brace on is something I don't like and has red flags all over it

Totally forgot about him kicking around out there...maybe he got glasses as his tracking on deep balls was an adventure

Maybe both.

Hard to believe he's 28 eh? Bout to turn 29 though. Still, younger than Echols somehow. But yeah, he's an undersized guy who plays hard. 5 seasons and almost 300 catches under his belt. He isn't shot, but he isn't fresh as a daisy either.

I like both moves better than running out Cody or pushing Schoen back early. Plus, I like how these guys are a reasonable balance of vet experience and youth. They are great guys to push who we have.

We need receivers, obviously, so these signings aren’t a big surprise, but it also makes you wonder if they are directly related to Demski, or more likely Sterns injury.  Also possible conversations with Wilson have lead the team to believe he’s going to hang around down south hoping for another shot.

100% this rings alarm bells. It seems like one or both could be down long term.

I can’t see Wilson staying down south.
