Cut him some slack, he just lost his franchise MOP QB. He's an Argo fanatic and is clearly in denial. He is extending way too much benefit of the doubt to a player known to have big behavioral problems, but he is also viewing it through the lens of a fan. He will come around once the shock and awe wears off and he realizes this was a fair and just punishment. The CFL could not let it's reigning MOP act like a total creep and embarrass the league with a weak response to it.

Nah, he's been trying to turn this on the woman from day one.  Has nothing to with Kelly being suspended so I'm not inclined to cut him some slack.  Had he taken more of a wait and see attitude, I might buy the "in shock" excuse but he's been this way since the allegations first came out.

I see validity in both your points. Thinking back to what it was to be a bomber fan in the past two dark ages this would be crushing. Even with that I and many others defended Harris during his ped positive test not long ago. (His claim was very valid but we never did hear about his independent testing of the allegedly tainted supplement)

with that said, the whole victim blaming culture is such a big toxic issue in society right now, the regressive attitudes are much worse on this. Not to mention the victim suffered directly, Harris either way didn’t victimize people.
Some of the defences and devils advocate positions has come off really gross with Kelly. Guilt or not, just some real ick factor stuff.

I hope all this in the end helps some of those people to see the importance of protecting alleged victims and treating them appropriately. Some times good people get wrapped up on the wrong side of disputes. It’s certainly happened to me in the past.
I still think bluto is good people and a good poster.

That’s soo odd right after the team and Kelly denied any wrong doing. You know that’s why they marched good ole pinball out to deliver the message.

This only pushes home that the league needs to come down swiftly and harshly on the Argo’s brass.

yup...basically...BUSTED!! now time to about face and clean the mess

Yea...I mean Bluto did victim blame but I think it was more he hoped and prayed the victim was lying, and it came out all wrong. We now know for certain based on Pinball's comments that Kelly ain't a victim of a smear campaign. I am sure Bluto will do the right thing now.

I think the fact that CK is in Toronto and will be at Training Camp in Pinball's words "because the league says he could" is a real bad look for the Argos. If he can't play for a minimum of 9 weeks, IF he does the assigned tasks and is approved by a third party he shouldn't be around the team until he has at least begun this work. I did not get the sense from Pinball that he gets it, mostly that he's trying to toe a very fine line with the league but really is trying to protect his guys.

Maybe more than ever I think he and Murphy as a minimum need to go.

I believe Lawler was required to stay away from practices while on the suspended list last season.

What a big F U to the rest of the league & the safety of women in the workplace by the Argos.

Yup Pinball could have said something like:

While CK works on things he needs to work on as a human being, we want our team to be lasered focus with minimal distractions in preparing for this coming season so respecting that CK will remain offsite until his suspension is lifted.

Only the Argos can say a suspension is not really a suspension. The blow back on this is going to be monumental. And according to Clemons, the CFL & Big Leader Commissioner Randy Ambrosie  says it's okay??? What garbage.

In case anyone missed it, Osh was asked about the Argos/Kelly situation yesterday:

WEIGHING IN: O’Shea was asked after practice Wednesday about the nine-game suspension levied against Toronto Argonauts QB Chad Kelly. He said he would not comment on the length of suspension because ‘that’s not in my wheelhouse.’

“But I do feel very strongly that the women that work in our league deserve a safe workplace and deserve to be respected — everybody deserves to be respected and have a safe workplace,” he said. “The women in our league, and there’s a lot of them, really deserve to feel safe coming to work every day. That kind of question should be posed to the women in our organization to see if they do feel safe and respected in this workplace — I believe they do, but far be it for me to answer that. They certainly deserve our support and I know organizationally we make good decisions.”

Chad Kelly is on about his 5th chance to improve, accept help and counselling.

If the Argos are serious he's gone and so is Murphy.

Remove the toxicity or allow it to fester.

The first in a thread where DT goes off on Pinball. Excellent read.

Too bad he posted it on Twitter.  Not giving them any traffic.

He wasn't in Canada.

The fallout from this isn't over. Pinball, the Argos and the CFL are getting absolutely dunked on Twitter right now. This might end with more people losing their jobs.

Yeah, this can't continue. The Argos will bow to pressure & tell Kelly to stay away as he should. John Murphy should lose his job.

Yes, but Kelly's suspension does not start until the end of TC.

No it doesn't.  While Kelly can currently attend practice, he can't participate due to the suspension.

Ok...well then that's no different from any other suspended player then. Can't practice, can't attend meetings but can attend the workplace. Really stupid of the Argos to allow it though.

yup...even so as per the CFL's allowances...they should not have him anywhere near cap and the facilities during the suspension.....at the very least in the publics view...epic fail there on the Argo's.....saying they ant to be/do better, and look at the organization as a whole and be better...as per Pinball....then allow that....a good start would be to remove him from the scene for now....him being there does what??

According to Naylor on X, the league did not agree to allow Kelly to attend yesterday. The CBA allows it, and this was 100% an Argo decision to let it happen. I don't know how to embed tweets but Naylor said that the league couldn't stop it without violating the CBA.

Definite fail.  The Argo's also have a very loose definition of what participating means too. The video of him, running and throwing looks pretty participatory to me - allowing him to be at the facility is one thing but I don't think he should be on the field.
