2019 CFL Season: Around the League

Pre season action 1PM PT

BC at Edmonton

3 Areas To Watch

Number 2 Pivot: Who Steps Up?

BC - Ricky Lloyd and first-year Leos Austin Apodaca and Cole Sears will handle the quarterback reps in hopes of getting a leg up on sticking behind Reilly on the depth chart.

Edmonton- Danny O’Brian, Logan Kilgore, Briscoe.

- One big observation in the first week of camp is the depth at receiver. Standouts at the position have included Joey Augustin, Marquis Bundy and Mexican additions Fernando Richarte and Gerardo Alvarez. All CFL clubs are required to keep one global player on their roster beyond training camp.

- Defensive Line: Calling On Another Bookend

With Odell Willis having another strong showing in camp, the big question remains who will line up as the other bookend.

- Linebacker Adam Konar gets to battle some of his own teammates after he was cut loose and quickly picked up by the Lions on day one of camp. He’ll start at MLB

No doubt to go to the NFL. He's been the best back in the league for the past several years and it's a wonder he's not playing down there already.

Best back? He's not even a great back anymore. His NFL days are done, I think. He may get a chance with another CFL team.

Yes folks, I couldn't have been kidding more lol.

I'm an extremely sarcastic person and i give no indication of my implications when writing online- my problem haha.

Anyway, I was taking a dig at Wilder for wanting high end CFL money a few years ago thinking he was some superstar who would eventually get onto an NFL roster. 400 yards in a season in the CFL ain't gonna get you there.

He asked for his released because he was Chamblin-ed.

He'll probably sign with Trestman's XFL team in Tampa Bay.

He played for Trestman and he is from Tampa Bay, so it make more sense.

LMAO

He tapped out

Talking **** on Twitter the night before, but it got real 24 H later

Edit: A sports hernia is a pretty legit injury

Definitely pretty upsetting to have an injury that knocks you out of the biggest game of the year.  Banks was showing up for the game to that point (72 yards getting knocked out early in the third), and probably felt like he could have helped turn the game around.

And so it begins...

Which head-coaching gig Lapo will choose?

a. Ottawa - can tag Nichols, Streveller or Collaros with him. Arbuckle and Masoli are options too.
b. BC - opportunity to work with Reilly
c. Edmonton - opportunity to work with Harris
d. none of the above

😁

Rick Campbell will take over for Edm...you can take that to the bank

Maas to BC? LaPo to Ottawa?

I could see the reverse as well.

If Lapo and that's a big IF gets a HC opportunity next season.  I see the best fit to be in BC.

I doubt Mass gets a HC for a while..too volatile and not a good leader

I don't.

It is hard to win in the West and BC has gaping talent holes.

Ottawa is a steady starter from 3rd place in the East

The rumour I read before the GC was Campbell to BC. Maybe that's changed now that Edmonton has an opening.

3 HC jobs available and Toronto's not included in the list. Lots of opportunity for PLAP and MOS if they want it.

Logical.

His buddy Ed though...

The problem with Ottawa is, working with the GM.

Easier road to wins though.

If not O'Shea, would Argos chase Lapo instead? I think it will give them the better chance to sign Collaros also.

Honestly, If LaPo leaves, I'd give Maas a chance here.

I think Osh would keep him in check as OC

How come there 3 Off-season threads?
