Eskimos @ Lions

The game that probably has the most bearing on where the west playoff final.

I know either outcome can help us, and ultimately it will be on us to control our own destiny, but I think a BC win might make it a little easier.

If BC wins, then Edmonton will be 8-9, and one win for us at home next week against Calgary will give us 10 wins and an automatic playoff berth.

Of course, I'm also counting on SSK to choke away their last two games so if we win ours they'll forfeit second place and we'll get it and a hosting of the WSF.

Lions defence just crushing the Esks. Posey and Sutton big additions for BC. That team looks scary good. Maas likely done as HC in Edmonton.

Reilly has always been a little over reliant on the deep ball, but he's ceased being a quarterback this season.  They don't hit anything between a deep ball and a screen pass.

That's all he does. Chuck it deep. He always got away with a lot but circumstances are catching up with him.

That's a big rouge.

What the hell kind of moneyball horsepoop call was that?

Maas has lost his mind.

Well, I guess the logic would be that when time is at a premium, Mike Rielly's arm has longer range than their kicker foot. That said, I agree that's still just a stupid decision...

Really hope that salary cap is the reason we didn't try to sign Posey...

Watched the game this morning on PVR. When Lulay is healthy and on his game, he has to be considered one of the top two or at worst, three QBs in the league. Wally just out-coached Maas, particularly in the second when it counted, so he hasn't lost all his marbles to old-timers' disease yet. Maas doesn't have much job security left. Bombers may not have been able to sign Posey for one reason or another, but Lordy, he would have good in blue and gold. Sutton was a great pickup for the Lions.

Too many people gave up on Lulay way too premature. Yes he has health issues but I've always respected his play. His football IQ is extremely high, too bad it was never used in a Blue and Gold uniform.

Lulay has always been a damned good quarterback, just keeps busting his shoulder.

Bottom line just beat Calgary next week and it's all good.

With this playoff mess and Calgary suddenly looking beatable - I've definitely watched more games than I have in a long time....  really fun season

Yeah right now Lulay scares the heck out of me. Sending them to the crossover would help

Pretty sure Bombers are destined for the crossover...  BC has the season series with us

Just don't see BC losing to Sask...

Wally should buy June Jones dinner -  his terrible coaching in that close game basically turned BC's season around

I thought they did?!  Because of the game we lost in the last minutes there...

Sounds good to me...!!

Edit - ah point differential...  damn, we're in the playoffs for sure then!!

We aren't for sure, we need one more win to secure playoffs otherwise we are out. Edmonton has the season series with us and will go to the play offs if we end up tied.

Nope in mathematical terms of strictly making the playoffs, we actually want Edmonton to win.

Edmonton win       | BC Win
EDM: 9-8 (17 GP)   | BC 9-7
BC: 8-8 (16 GP)     | EDM: 8-9

With an Edmonton win, BC would need to win out (10-8) and we would need to lose out (9-9) for them to catch us because we hold the tiebreaker over BC. If BC wins, they would need to win one more game than Winnipeg to finish better than us. The extra loss to Edmonton doesn't hurt them as much since the EDM/WPG season series is still up in the air. Also a tie is no good for us either, since the extra point would actually be relevant if we ended up with the same wins as either team.

TLDR; Winnipeg needs one more win to get in, if you're going to root for anyone tomorrow, root for Edmonton.

I'll take the we're in with a win scenario every time.

The Eskimos and Bombers are tied at 1 game won each. They do not have the season series on us. The last game of the year is against the Eskimos. It could be a VERY big game or a game to rest some players if we beat Calgary.

Win 1 and we’re in. Win 2 and we could be in second place.

What a season..

We actually have the point differential right now. Whoever wins the last game will have the season series.

Deadmonton is hooped IF we win the next game at home....They most likely won't show up for the last one UNLESS Maas wants to go out in a blaze of glory in a meaningless tilt...The way it sounds over there right now, is that he may have coached his last game at the igloo....so there's that

Esks and Riders both look like steaming messes right now. Riders have a good defence (or they used to before their injuries) and the Esks used to have a good offence. Neither look to have a chance against either RBs or TiCats. A pox on both their houses.

If Calgary wins today..they wrap up first..so may be resting some guys and not playing as urgently...tho we are playing good..healthy..and think we will win at home anyway.

BC has a lot to play for as well next week and I am sure dont want to be a crossover team with the distance and all..u actually see a Winnipeg winning out  and Sask losing out and a WSF here against Bc

Ah man, just catching up on the BC/Edm game. Posey and Lulay with 3 TDs and the instant chemistry. Can someone please tell me why, again, that we couldn't sign Posey. I'm feeling just sick that we couldn't work something out with this guy. I thought we were supposed to be the team that these players wanted to come to because of our ... culture. Eff he would have looked good in blue and gold and made an awesome compliment to Darvin Adams. Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn ...
