There it was again, the Richie Hall bad scheme come home to roost.  Offense had a rough day too, but can't always have Montreal miracles week in and week out.  Bend but don't break must be scrapped after this year is over.

Lapo should be also then cuz at least the D showed up the 2nd half... O didnt until it was 2 late. 

This isn't anything new,  the club is fully aware of the defense and choose to bring him back.   I dont see him being replaced.

The O has saved the bacon all season long... agree with the OP

This right here, Hall is lucky our offense is as good as it is, if he'd coached our 2011 team, we'd a won about maybe 5 games that year

Not good enough in this game sure, but you don't fire the OC for one stinker.  Hall has served up a secondary scheme that makes the rest of the CFL look all world for several seasons now...

He was but Agenda. 

Hall was DC in Regina before coming to Winnipeg. It was DC for the Riders, HC in Edmonton, DC in Regina, DC in Winnipeg. Essentially let go due to this type of D.

He had 2 stints with the Riders, and his first one ending in 2007 I believe it was saw him get chosen as Edmonton's head coach.  After he got fired from that for his lousy defense, he returned to Regina several years later with Chamblin, and on the way to SSK winning the 2013 Cup had his play calling on defense taken from him.  Subsequently he got fired when it tanked even more the following year.

With Wild out and the release of Bruce Johnson, there are just too many new faces in there who don't know how to play together or what they are doing.

People keep saying it's the linebackers (and I mostly agree) who got the glaring weaknesses on this D.  Problem is all of em but Leggett are Hall's guys that he wanted here.  So that still makes the mess on defense Richie Hall's.

I dunno, the D was put in two horrible situations right after each other.   that'd not their fault.

and then they stiffened in the 2nd half and gave our O a chance to win....which they blew multiple times.

Yup. How many consecutive two and outs did we have in the third?  Right when we needed the O the most, it took a vacation. Can't see what was happening with the coverage on TV but Nicholls would not stretch the field at all, with only a few exceptions he was not willing to throw to his downfield reads.

D wasn't great, but the average Rider start in the first quarter was somewhere around our 25 yard line.

 

Matty Iced the game for the Riders when he tossed his first pick.  Terrible throw and the poor decisions kept coming but Osh will keep trotting him out.  Our D is really bad though, Walters has to wear the stink as well.  Many of the players just plain suck.

Why wouldnt they keep playing him? They had a rough 5 minutes in the first Q where the game turned.. Rest of it tho... We fought back and if not for turnovers we had a chance still... 

Nichols is like what? 17 18 19 and what 6 or 7 as bomber starter? Hes not pulled because hes the best QB we have had since Khari Jones. 

Because despite being down by a couple touchdowns... The game wasnt over... They scored 2 TDs in like a minute vs Montreal..  Why pull Nichols when down by a couple TDs with 6 7 8 minutes left? Pulling nichols would be like giving up or being blown out legit... We weren't being blown out tho. 

If it was 38 0.. Sure play Davis but it wasnt and we still had a shot.. Pull him at the end? Sure.. But not with lots of time left. 

We are 7 and 3... Many of our players are very good.

Nichols had the deer in the headlights  look before and after that play.  The Sask D is fast and aggressive,  he caved early and often.  Now maybe our receivers sucked tonight, they seemed blanketed even on the balls they caught.  

Our kicker is good, running backs and o-line.  Big question marks remain everywhere else and today's game has shown it.  7-3 is nice but 7-4 will be disasterous.

Sure. You watched a different game. Get the feeling you are that twitter guy trolling Nichols

Nichols is still massively to the good in his win/loss ration as a Bomber and one poor outing and suddenly everything is horrible. **** sakes people calm the **** down. We almost never win on Labour Day, should be used to the worst possible outcome happening there. They'll pull their heads out of their asses for next week. 

I dont blame nichols or the offence for that stinker.... defence is whats going to ruin this team and its plain for everyone to see... i have no idea how anyone can support that unit...

Nichols had been OK for us no question but some cracks have been starting to show.
