The Most Important Game: Wpg @ Regina

Given we have not won the Grey Cup since 1990, going to Regina for the Labor Day Classic  has become the most important game of the Bomber season. The Banjo bowl supplements it but there can be no sweeter victory than beating the Roughies on their home turf in front of their "Laboring" crowd. For me it is everything, regardless of whatever else we do in a season.

I think Regina is a better club than the Alouettes so I am expecting a huge battle. I thought Lapo turtled with the offense after halftime. Downfield passing all but disappeared. So we won on turnovers 2016 style. But this is no way to beat the Rougies, Regina will turn the table on us if we try that ultra conservative play calling again. At least we won't have to deal with Montreal's blitz crazy defense. Kevin Glenn will have something to prove.

I feel like the whole mentality of winning labour day classic being like our grey cup is over. We simply want to win football games. Doesn't matter if it's Sakschewan, Calgary, etc the mindset has to

Nope, it'll still be the nicest stadium in the league.

Nah. BC is. IGF is next. Just cuz its new doesnt mean its nicest.. Its nice but i mean.. If we are being truly honest here... Which apparently we arent judging by your posts... Its not that nice. Its ok. Congrats. Its a nice stadium but it doesnt change the fact that its in Regina.

It's a terrible point to make. Buzz off.

Its not a terrible point at all.  Saying the Bombers are this much more better team than the Riders after the Bombers squeaked out a OT win in Regina is silly.  If they would've won by more than a TD or more than maybe you'd have a point.  7 games in for the Riders and its still too early to proclaim the Bombers a better team when their only matchup against each other was as about as close as you can get.

All else being equal, sure. But it was a road win against a team playing their first game at a new stadium and it being the Riders' second game of the year while being the Bombers' first. Not nearly as simple as just being a 3 point OT win.

It's big, for sure.  Everything inside seems kinda cheap, like it was made in Taiwan.  It's not that loud.  Not sure if that's the stadium or the apathetic fanbase, though.  However the fact that it is located in the geographical crotch of Canada means it smells like an old fart all the time and that's a pretty big negative.

Since Winnipeg is only a short 5hour drive from Regina I guess that makes us neighbours.

Oh, go away. You're more annoying than a Trump surrogate.

7 and 2 says it all. I get math isnt your thing but... 7 and 2.

A win is a win... Doesnt matter if its by 1 or 51...

Are you similar to Edmonton also? Their 7 game win streak? They won by an average of 5 points. Good teams find ways to win.. Bad teams find ways to lose.

Damn... can we not let our hearts recover  first and just enjoy this win before next week?

Too soon big blue.... too soon.

I was just going to say the same thing. Why ask this tonight???

Yes, the day of a Bomber game is too early to post next week's game. Give us time to absorb and wallow in the game at hand. There is plenty of time to delve into the twelve that is Saskatchewan.... later. Especially when a troll like Mosaic enters the convo...

I was told by my Bombers fans thread at the beginning of the season that the first week bye was a benefit for the Bombers.

I'm not sure what it makes us to be fair, all the assholes are in Calgary!

We had the first week bye, playing on the road in the opening of your new stadium and we still won. 7-2 vs 3-4 surely you can count?

Nobody is trolling, its a football discussion.  You guys are rightfully defending your team and so am I.  That what's great about the CFL.  Relax, your team is 7-2.

So we would be.... the hip of Canada?

I remember the Bombers in 2010 signing the coach who was responsible for the 2009 GreyCup mistake.  Still shaking my head about that one.

My take is you have Chris Jones and we don't. That automatically makes us a better team.

You mean the guy who has 4 GreyCup rings?   What a detriment.

I remember telethons being held to save your team.

Well, I'm sure that explanation makes you feel better at night when you remember that game. You still can't count.

He has more Grey Cup rings than you have road wins in 2.5 years.

You do know how big Canada is hey?

I am curious why we've been lucky the last 5 wins, but Edmonton have been 'DOMINIATE' during their 7 game win streak?
