US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Whitaker even mused about how an acting attorney general could effectively kill the investigation. “I could see a scenario where Jeff Sessions is replaced with a recess appointment,” Whitaker said on CNN last year, “and that attorney general doesn’t fire Bob Mueller, but he just reduces his budget to so low that his investigation grinds to almost a halt.”

Make no mistake about it firing Mueller would be the worst mistake that Trump would make, they may be banking on slowing him down and making it harder for Mueller to do his job, but I think Mueller has done most of the grunt work and in all probability is getting his ducks in a row and getting more indictments ready, he knew the day of Sessions being fired and Rothstein being pushed aside would come quickly after the midterms.

That would sure sting if you have an emotional connection to trump.

if this is real then I'm making the popcorn

Apparently, Mueller has been writing the report in public.

Hard to have any idea what's next.

Kansas elected a Democratic party governor. Interesting, Laura Kelly;

"(Republican incumbent) Kobach attempted to stir up fears about the caravan of Central American migrants traveling north through Mexico, in an effort to make illegal immigration a key issue for Kansas voters.

Laura Kelly ( who won) has acknowledged the key role immigrant labor plays in Kansas’s economy, saying at a debate last week that, if elected, she would endorse comprehensive immigration reform to “let people live in peace.”

I've read that state Republicans have really wrecked Kansas.  Specially their school system.

One thing I am certain of... GOP will not grow a spine anytime soon.

Trump hits new low by essentially calling out the Republicans that didn't embrace him and lost last night loser's for not taking the embrace, he really sees himself as God.

No question that the Sessions firing was intended to impede or halt the investigation into Trump's affairs and the affairs of his family. There may be a much larger game afoot here from the Russians. Trump is heavily indebted to the Russian mob and Saudi royal family and he has always placed his welfare above that of others, even his son Don Junior. Trump has probably been a Russian asset since the early 2000's when he was on the verge of his biggest bankruptcy. The banks in North America and Europe would no longer touch him and he was desperate. Enter the Russian mob/big business/government. Eric Margolis, the noted reporter who has been watching the Russian and Asian political scene for some 30 years, maintains that the Russians have been far more successful in penetrating the American and British intelligence and political machinery than the CIA or MI6 ever were in accessing the Russian equivalents.

Russia has succeeded in influencing American foreign policy beyond their wildest dreams, but their real endgame may be to destroy American societal cohesion and set the different factions at each others' throats. Trumps denigration of his intelligence community and discounting of their advice is another step in undermining trust in these institutions while he looks the others way. The prime and recent example of the hither-to respected FBI being ordered "investigate" the allegations against Kavanaugh and then being manipulated so as to produce an exculpatory report on Kavanaugh with them interviewing Kavanaugh, Dr, Ford, Kavanaugh's best friend or either of the other two women who came forward, has to undermine Americans' trust of even the FBI. All this is likely intended to produce exactly what has happened- fatalism on the part of voters that no matter how or if they vote, it produce no positive change. Then, if there is no trust in democracy, all that is needed is for a semi-charismatic leader to step forward with a simplistic "plan" and extravagant promises and voila! we have Germany at the end of the Weimar Republic. America then either becomes a thinly disguised dictatorship or a helpless giant ripe for the picking.

Great post thanks. I've read that it appears that huge amounts of money for the "leave" side of Brexit came from Russia.

It's disturbing that it's been, really, quite easy for Putin to carry this out.

Something good happening in Kansas.

Kansas voters made history Tuesday when they selected Sharice Davids to be their next congresswoman.

Davids, a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, will be the first Native American woman to serve in Congress — a distinction she shared with New Mexico’s Deb Haaland, who also won Tuesday — and the first openly LGBT person to represent the state of Kansas.

Most people just don't realize how global the investigation has become:

Kushner & Qatar, possible half billion

Nadar & UAE, funneling money to Trump campaign

Flynn & Israel, Logan Act violations

Kushner & China, had to downgrade his security clearance, suspected asset for the Chinese

This thing is going to be a New York Times best seller.

Thats false.  The mid-terms are always considered a referendum on the President.  Heard it repeatedly about Obama and Clinton.

Most presidents have lost the house - which one hasn't?

Talking heads are saying that Trump now has a mole in Whitaker who will find out what Mueller knows and/or has found out about Trump and his family and then report back to him. Also rumour's of sealed indictments

Like I said, I'd be an Independent.

Putin must just wake up giggling everyday. He not only owns POTUS but all of his voters too. The rise of fascism will be Putin's legacy. Trump is but a tool in the whole system.

Left, Right, Conservative, Liberal, who cares.

95% of politicians are corrupt. Even the best of them. They all owe something to someone, and you can bet someone will come in to call favours.

And then those union loving orange wave NDPers.... well... only difference between them and riderfans are.... 31 teeth.

Acosta has had his credentials taken away for "placing his hands on" the intern who tried to grab the mic from him. Some are suggesting that Acosta was set up since he was given a front row seat and Trump never calls on him to ask a question.

Trump, who glorifies assault, has many instances of sexual assault and harassment...suddenly this is an outrage?

People need to wake up. He does not want a free press covering him.

And sanders is just a disgusting person. Soulless.

The WH is spreading a video that they know is doctored to justify their attack on Acosta.

Once again, this man, this administration is disgusting and so is everyone that defends it.

This video.

Sped up and/or skipped a frame

clearly doctored.  The admin is openly using a fake video.  That’s incredible.

Why not suspend all press passes?  Sanders is a horrible person.

Now, had Acosta just grabbed her by the *****, no problem, right?

I can never get Twitter links to work.

Search InfoWars - Acosta. It was retweeted by the WH and used to justify removing his credentials.

Thanks TUP!
