Tough to win football games when you are getting beat in the trenches on both sides of the ball

Lots can happen between now and then... We'll see.

Jaylen Smith was great on special teams again. Brady, Demski, Pokey did their jobs and played well for the most part.
Other than that, not much good to point out.

Tough one... Definitely not a great team this year. Not enough talent. Hoping they can put together enough of something to go on a run late. Just make playoffs.

I'm no doctor or anything like that, but if he tore it playing Calgary, why in the world would they put him out there even if he is wearing a brace. Kind like putting Zach out when his throwing hand is bleeding.

well...who makes the roster??
The fact he tore a just repaired ACL ....right there you shut him down....Sure you can brace it but can make things a lot worse....and just delays the surgery....wont heal without it....just incompatence top to bottom...even if the player "agreed" to try....you just dont do that...especially woth a marquee player
I like how Osh said he "tried to play though it" orwas he forced...influenced with bad advice?....just sickening

Poor guy.
Loved Schoen and what he brought to this team in terms of toughness and talent - it was was a great combination. Back to back ACL tears though ... that's going to be tough to come back from as a receiver (if he does at all).
I can't believe this organization trotted him out there again.

Havent seen it mentioned else where, but appearently Schoen has blown out the same ACL again. Same one he re injured, and then tried to play through in the LDC.
Guy was clearly not even close to ready all year. Yet we've kept trying to hammer him back into the roster. And now, we've very, very likely ruined him and his career. Clearly, the guy will play through any level of pain and try to help his team out. The staff, and especially Mos have failed to protect him as a player, and the teams investment in him. It's a series of unforgiveable, unconscionable mistakes. They just ruined a generational talent, and who knows what his quality of life will end up like down the road.

With you on the wtf for the refs on ripping off Kolo's helmet. Shoulda been a penalty. And while i'm complaining about the refs...the hit on Demski looked like he had him by the jersey up by his throat and drove his head into the turf.

ddanger reacted to Slimy Sculpin in Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Montreal Alouettes GDT
A few comments about the game.
Glad the Bombers won but there were still a few WTF moments starting with the coaching staff. There was some questionable play calling on both sides of the ball and O’Shea’s time-management skills leave a lot to be desired. Do these guys talk to each other?
The O-line played pretty well especially when run-blocking. Kolankowski deserves a lot of the barbs thrown his way but on Oliveira's initial big run (28 yards?), Kolankowski opened it up for him by blocking one defender and then bouncing back to get a second guy. It actually looked like he knew what he was doing. Oliveira was immediately in open ground. I was pleasantly surprised.
Lawson, the DB, was terrible at least to begin with. There's a reason the Bombers brought back Houston. The sooner he's inserted into the lineup the better.
Why is Kramdi starting at S when Allen is a keeper. Don't we already start more than the minimum required Canucks?
Kudos to our Special Teams (good coaching). The kicking game is solid. Castillo always was and it has taken several years but Sheehan is coming around. I like Vaval over Logan as a returner but it's probably too early to judge Logan.
Good to see Wilson out there for the 3rd and short plays although he might have been out there because Streveler was lining up as a receiver. Do the coaches not see (what seems pretty obvious to me) that Wilson for whatever reasons is at this point the better option. I’m still convinced that the recent game in Calgary was lost because they used Streveler instead of Wilson on that 3rd and 1 on the Calgary 10. Had we scored on that drive, it would have been a dagger in the Stamps.
Collaros played well. Was that his best game in a long while? Oliveira is looking stronger which points to a full recovery from his injury.
The next two games will be interesting. Objectively, the Riders are the best team in the league so it will be challenging for the Bombers.
Go Bombers Go!

1. Zach. I mean that might have been his best game in years. Dude had 13 straight completions at one point. Montreal has a good D and play us hard since we were in the east.
2. Brady. Over 200 yards. Dude stepped up.
3. Sergio. Was perfect on the night.
HH to sterns and Demski. Both had great first halfs.
another HH to person who seems to make a difference when he plays.
Houston or Dandy. Whoever. Just no more Lawson Jr.
I gotta give a wTF to the refs who didn’t call a penalty eventho our OL (think it was Kolo) had his helmet torn off.
and lastly a hhh and that means it’s all about the game and how you play it… give me Logan here. Did he stand out? No but he’s a weapon and it was nice seeing him out there finally.

I'm kind of amused I called Streveler for another return to the receiving corps... But there HAS to be a better solution for emergency receiver than the Back Up QB 11 months removed from ACL surgery right?!? A DB? A returner? Someone who only plays special teams?

1. Brady, obviously. No elaboration needed.
2. Demski, even though he played less than a half. The best year of his career, especially relative to what he does compared to the rest of the WR corps.
3. Collaros for some gritty play. Ran for a few first downs on pure effort. Evasiveness in the pocket was pretty damn good. No wild throws into coverage. Escaped the rush a number of times to get it out to Brady. Great job behind mediocre at best pass pro.
HH- Wilson for the big gain in SY.
Dunce 1- Whoever was responsible for that Chinese fire drill where they took a time count.
Dunce 2- The officials for not shutting down the **** with the sirens.

1 brady. ofc carried the team today. 25-210 yards
2 zach. protected the ball, got it out fast and made good decisions couple tough throws
3 cam allen. some good cover, couple great hits separated wrs from balls which changes how teams can attack you.
hh sterns bone jarring catch over the middle
block of the game to strevy as a wr lead blocking for brady had a good edge seal
crappy honker to that stupid ass siren
dunce caps to lawson jr, form tackling on d, hogan
honorable mention to strevy for doing a lot in light of injuries, wallace, wilson in short yardage, jones, and wj
Unsung hero award to Person. he didn’t record a stat, but he tipped holms pick and had atleast 5 key pressures plus a couple hits.
bonus points to having lapo in the booth. he’s soo damn good and improves the quality of life watching games by a ton

I'm in the camp of the guys wanting changes to the O'line. There hasn't been any talk about Wallace because the kid is a keeper. I like the versatility that Eli brings, and IMO he's also a keeper. I also agree with the guys wanting to move on from Kola, and I suspect that young Vibert is here as a replacement. Sadly I think big Stan's career is coming to an end.

Unless you gonna go 3 Americans on the oline there really is nothing that can be done. That’s an off season gm thing. Guess when your gm takes the off season off, this is what happens but sure the lack of depth is on O’Shea.

I think it’s probably true that they really like Eli as our 6th ol. If they don’t see him as a significant upgrade at C, which appears to be the case, it wouldn't make sense to make that change. To 17to85’s comment, we don’t have to cut him if he can’t take the starting C spot. A good 6th ol is still important.
I’ve been an offensive coach at the high school level, and in my experience I’d rather play a centre I trust to make every snap rather than a guy who might be better physically but whose snaps can be an adventure. I don’t know for sure that’s the case here (trust), just a possibility.

I have to admit I know next to nothing about O-line technique but I've watched every Bomber game for the last few years (including TSN replays) and Kolankowski does, at least to my untrained eye, get overwhelmed a lot. Maybe he's got a high football IQ as the centre is supposed to call blocking assignments. Right? However, imo, he's too small to begin with. Is he one of those "gud in the room, glue guys?" Who the heck knows? It's frustrating watching him getting beaten regularly.
