I agree with most, Strev. Looked bad.....but so did Zach for the most part......I can't fully defend Strev. but our offence has been garbage all year.....including Brady's usage.
I really believe the issues are far deeper than Strevelor...far deeper

Wanna give a HH shout-out to Brady for soloing our O. Vintage performance, no quit. He was the only thing we had and they still couldn't stop him for the most part.

Fajardos base deal this year was 180k, mbt 185k. Patterson in the off season was 88k. Iirc strev was in the 100-150k range with incentives that could’ve brought him up to 300k range.
Given all that, I think you will usually spend about 900k on your 3 qbs in the cfl right now. With starters in the 400-600 range including starting incentives.
I think established vets, high value qb2s market is in the 175k-250k range. with fringe starters in the 200-350 range.
Obviously how much you budget for qbs 3 will trickle down. for us, i could see elgersma getting 150-200 with incentives and opt out. While what will happen depends a lot on zachs health, I think we will likely be in a position where we want to pay for a vet qb3.
So for streveler, i could see 150k, if he’s bringing enough value. which would be fairly easy if you can take the kids gloves off and use him as a full on battering ram.
That said, I think one of he and zach needs to go. so if zach doesnt retire due to injury, id rather go in another direction.

Streveler looked like this before tho. This has been his cfl career with a couple of anomaly games at this point where he looks like a real QB but for the most part minus the explosion he is what he’s always been. I’m not sure how ppl can watch that game last night and think yup that’s a cfl qb. The case could be made we’d have been better off if he didn’t throw one pass.

O'Shea states that he never considered pulling out Streveler as they were moving the ball well

One of J Jones attributes id being able to lay hard hits, Wilson and Jones tackle just as well but dont punish the ball carrier
Something that we lack , against both Sask and Calgary they were much more physical

nah canadian college qb is not getting the call up after one season here, unless he throws for numbers that would make doug flutie blush.
I think we all remember that time late in milts career when he was plastered over the middle and out old twitching on the field. then came two and jumped up but was clearly confused and wobbly.
He played in a far worse era for player safety. He isn’t the guy to say some thing for clicks or throw out calls for retirement lightly.
I understand what mos is trying to say, but I think all the needed info IS available. you have a qb who turns 39 in a couple weeks, who has been knocked out of games 3 times this year due to high hits, who hasn’t been 100% in about 2.5-3 years, and who has more concussion history than the entire rest of the west division. Not an exaggeration either.
In grappling they say “every thing below the eyes is the neck”, in football especially for qbs/concussions every thing from the shoulders up is the head. if you get whacked in the neck, it jostles your brain. smashed with a clean hit in the shoulder pads, rattles the cage.
So when you see a qb with concussion history’s head hit 3 times and once bounce off the turf, it’s a concussion issue.
After concussions, every injury near the head causes issues. no such thing as close but didn’t cause issues at that point.
Post concussion syndrome/ppcs is no joke.

O'Shea's opinion is influenced by his ego and his dawning realization that the team is struggling to make the playoffs which will affect his reputation and whether he will be here next year. His conduct in the Drew Willy/Matt Nichols incident plus his handling of Collaros in the last Grey Cup game is a powerful indicator of how he functions.

And/or watch the interview Matt Dunnigan and family did with TSN sometime ago on the effects CTE continues to have on him and his family. It was very moving.

Sadly I gotta agree with this. I'd like to see what we have in the kid. He's been " developing " for 2 years now...or is it 3?

it's not anymore....it's currently....he has less recovery than even Schoen had and before retearing his ACL again he had zero burst...minimal ability to separate...or create separation after the catch...It's rare at best for any player save for a lineman to come back first yr post op to show they have regained it all...doesnt happen...Yr 2 tho yes.....they should be back, and if not 90%
That's where you need to judge Strev with his running ability. Also any (all) QB's here need and deserve the chance in 2026 camp to show what they can do with legit offensive weapons and an actual pro playbook...or pro coordinator...starting all new will be worse than this yr
Right now as mentioned yeah he looks uncomfortable...and very rushed.....and I sure its a combination of what's mentioned...and also how he wired...he very high energy...he needs to slow his process down, a bit as well and then things will develop a bit more on field...and also with him...coaching can fix that but I profess over and over our coaching is killing us...and not just at Q.B
If he look same as he does this yr, next yr...well then yeah you cut bait, but judging it now is really not truly indicative...Our offence as a whole all yr has been a clusterfuck...even ZC more times than not looked like a first yr starter
Barring a trade...we kinda relegated to what we have in house...and possibly Elgersma...Is ZC gonna play again this yr...let alone next?...no clue...But whoever wins the starting job next yr....you cant roll into the yr with no experienced, let alone capable QB as your number 2
Love Schoen and Strev but we banked on both coming off not even a yr removed from major surgery as guys we were gonna lean on and ignored any other possible/option...and we paying for it
Same can be said for dline...Look at the guys who were available in FA...guys who were available via trade (Flo) and we just stood pat cause we figured 2025 would manifest like 2019-2021 and that in itself was wishfull thinking as some those guys were already at their apex and only direction they had was down
We grossly mismanaged and misjudged our roster, and looked backward and not forward...had no succession anywhere other than BO in place....and look at us now...teetering on a possible tear down and rebuild
We should never have been in this spot yet here we are....and we could really be a lot better than we are, but our coaching isnt where it should be, and we too stubborn to make changes
Before I forget...Wilson has the best arm of all our QB's and the best overall skill set...he needs polish and experience.....and well we know here getting the polish and experience is a big ask

To continue to pile on Streveler
The Bombers are 7th in the league is TD drive percentage at 16.8%. Montreal is last at 11.6%
Streveler was 4/16 Week 2. 0/1 Week 5. 1/8 Week 7. 1/7 Week 8. 1/13 in week 9. 0/4 in week 14.
So overall that is 7/49 so... something like 14%... the only offense worse than the Bombers with Streveler at the helm is Montreal and their pu pu platter of QBs they've trotted out this year
The Bombers are SIGNIFICANTLY better with Collaros at the helm. Whether that is a change in playcalling to better fit Streveler, or because of his knee, or Collaros is just that much better is up to debate. Sure he is 2-0, but getting those wins against a BC team at home coming off a bye when Rourke is known to have the yips against the Bombers, and then against Toronto when Special Teams and the Defense were playing out of their minds (Jefferson had the highest rated PFF game ever if you are into that metric) is a tad misleading.

The frustrating thing for me is that you know what you have with Streveler. Wilson has been around for more and a season and a half this point.
The only QBs who have seen any playtime that are have been worse than Streveler are Morgan (MTL), Masoli (BC), and Walker (CGY). The only QB who has a depth of target less than Streveler is Morgan. Streveler is the only QB in the league who has more than 1 red zone intereception despite being 13th in overall passing attempts. It's not even like he is doing anything with his legs... him and Collaros are neck and neck in rushing yardage, but Collaros has 6 runs of 10+ yards vs 1 for Streveler.
If Steveler can't get the job done, and you are unwilling to go to Wilson... what is even the point of having Wilson on the roster? To run the short yardage game when Collaros inevitably gets injured and you don't want to have Streveler do it while he is QB1?

Just insane people write streveler off based on the **** show that is our offense this year... guy has won both his starts, and yeah it wasn't always pretty but neither has collaros been. Our OL is making life hard on qbs.

When I‘m frustrated during games I want to see what our backup QBs can do (like most fans)
I‘m not sure Wilson is the answer though honestly. He can run for sure. If you watch his highlights from college, he predominantly threw from the pocket, and they mostly ran a wide spread with a lot of dump offs/screens. I’m not sure he has the arm strength for the CFL intermediate-deep game.
If he can throw on the run (which I don’t know one way or another) he could have success running something like we saw in the Montreal game earlier this year. I also don’t think we have the OL to run a pure drop back offence for any QB.
At the very least, he needs to take over the SY set permanently, healthy Zach or not.

Streveler is not the answer. Never has been, never will be. Gadget QB with terrible mechanics and poor decision making. Thanks for 2019 but time to move on. Need to see what we have in Wilson at the very least. Will O'Shea give Wilson a chance? Not a chance.

Maybe it's time for Wilson to get some game reps. First half Streveler second half Wilson. Time to start building a competent QB for next year.

Expecting a pocket with this team isnwishful thinking. Collaros doesn't have a pocket to work with and neither will Streveler.

Ya that's fair... I haven't consciously been taking the home GC into account, but that probably is there somewhere. I'm just really sad because of how much I've enjoyed the top of the mountain. I don't want the good times to end. Call it being a child of divorce, if you want, but I don't want to see a "break up" on Chancellor Matheson.... Ha ha.

I’d like to know why the team dr/medical staff expected rehab without surgery to be good enough for Schoen to play again this season. I get rehab alone can work for an average joe, but it seems crazy to trust it for a guy who runs and gets hit for a living.
