ddanger reacted to Mike in 2026 Bombers SeasonThe camp coverage has been bad for years, media coverage is even worse. The only guy who asks tough questions is the one guy who shouldn’t (Friesen) and the rest of them just lob softballs.
Looking forward to seeing some preseason action to see who stands out but not going to read much into it either. I’d like to see Burrell, Fletcher, Fredericksen, Pace, Addison as newcomers who seem like they could at least be something. Curious to see Nuer and Daniels in game situations too, they don’t strike me as the types to pop in practice. Overall, just excited to have football back.

ddanger reacted to wbbfan in 2026 Bombers SeasonA real champ over achiever. I loved that guy, soo much heart and just played his ass off.
You can really see that trend in our D too. Smith, shay, ayers, and woodbey for starters. We have some other big dbs who are sam tweeners too.
The secondary and second level have soo many guys that are modular and can play many roles from many alignments.
The athleticism of our canadian defensive back ups is really tremendous too. We’ve gone from those guys being the outliers and massive luxuries to that being the barrier for entry.
Most all the those candian D subs are not just athletic outliers, but they are tough nasty hard nosed football players. Not just pile of cross over athletes trying to make a go of it.
That versatile athletic canadian defensive back up core, is going to be a major back bone to our defensive success this year and going forward.

ddanger reacted to GCn20 in 2026 Bombers SeasonHe needed to drop weight and it should show up on the field. I think he will take a huge step forward this season.

ddanger reacted to Noeller in 2026 Bombers SeasonGabe Wallace apparently started camp last year at 345 and ballooned as the season went on. This year, he's apparently come into camp at 325 after undergoing a strict offseason regimen. Neufeld says he's one of the strongest/most powerful guys he's ever seen.

ddanger reacted to Noeller in 2026 Bombers SeasonGood time to thank @EdTait and @DTonOB for their hard work during camp for those who can't be there. The reports are all very appreciated fellas!

ddanger reacted to GCn20 in 2026 Bombers SeasonGetting to the QB would be a bonus but really anyone that can disrupt and eat up roll outs and escape lanes for the QB would be welcome...consistently of course. Getting that OT to back pedal would let Ceresna and Willie eat. Getting that true edge pass rush we haven't had since Jeffcoat would be huge. Wearing down the opposing LT is also something we have failed to consistently do and that pays huge dividends when we do roll in an undersized but quick DE

What a bizarre stream of posts. You think this pick was entirely Walters driven? Because of a one minute clip?
Walters is the facilitator on draft day as the guy in the GM seat, but to think he just dreamt this up without significant input from the coaching staff is insane. Think about this for one second: we just hired a new OC who has a decent history of using this type of player, we have never sought out this type of player until now and people are suggesting it’s just pure coincidence that we went out and got a guy like Daniels?
I don’t know why people are so dead set on this “it’s gonna be one or the other” thing. They all work together. I have no idea how to feel about the Daniels pick but I know it wasn’t just Walters and the scouts cooking up the bright idea of snagging a tight end. That desire for sure came with a great deal of input from the coaching staff.

Obviously I hope TE turns into Rourke but I just can't imagine a world where a CIS QB has the ability of an NCAA Div 1 kid.... But... Maybe TE is the best CIS QB of all time? Time will tell.

The reality is that we have had multiple can't-miss quarterbacks come into camp and flame out, so the odds are against Elgersma. That several NFL teams thought highly enough of him to bring him in is reason for optimism but certainly no guarantee, but if you are a Bomber fan, you live on hope.

Waaaay better.

From Our Man Tait in his latest piece.... Worth your click, as always:
https://www.bluebombers.com/2025/12/22/__trashed/
"...And as for the decision to add Thomas to his staff, O’Shea said this about one of the most-respected people in the building — not just on the roster:
“Love the guy. Can sit here right now and picture him hoisting the Cup in 2019. Extremely smart, passionate, good leader. A guy that just loved being around. There was a time where because of a contract issue he came late to training camp by I don’t know how many days, not much. But the whole practice stopped and everybody went nuts that he walked onto the field.
“That right there speaks volumes about what everybody thinks about him. Not just from the players’ perspective, but in the entire organization.”

JT...has bled blue for a long time....will he make a good coach...who knows..hopefully he will.
Congrats to him on a new position...
Hogan staying on is meh to me, but going back to RB coach, is probably a much better fit for him
As to next signing, I am hopeful it's Nuefeld
-
Or having the best RB in the league made him look better than he actually is? He certainly didn't use BO the way you would think a great RB coach might. I'm less concerned about that move though - he's at least experienced in the role. Hiring one of our problem players to coach (imo) our biggest weakness does not inspire confidence in me.
-
Now, if they would name Kola as the new head of catering….indisputable.
-
Exactly, I really don't understand the level of hate for Jake Thomas with some around here. Was he good the last few years? Nope. but it's not like he didn't try or bleed blue and gold. We are literally suggesting that the club should have cut ties with him permanently because he was too old to play well anymore and that is absolutely nuts. Some guys have gone off the deep end on the Jake Thomas hate train around here. I don't know if he will be a good coach, but I can't see any reason why he might not be. We'll see. We need to at least give him a chance.
Exactly. He stepped aside as a player and we still get the benefit of his experience and locker room worth. I can't believe people are viewing this so negatively.
-
I actually laughed about the Jake-As-Coach thing just because I knew exactly what the reaction would be. So funny.
I think he's well respected in the room and 13 years experience is definitely worth passing on to th next generation. I'm happy for the guy.
-
The best players don't always make the best coaches. It's often the less gifted guys who make tremendous coaches... so how good withh Jake Thomas be as DL coach? I don't know but it's not some immediately crucifiable since to try.
-
Keeping Hogan when it seems like he and Brady clashed last year is sort of weird. I know Brady previously raved about him, and maybe we were reading between the lines too much, but it certainly seemed as if the relationship had gone sour.
-
You realize that Hogan was our RB coach before when BO had his best years right?
I think these are great moves for our organization.
-
He can't be as bad as Patterson was and if it takes him off the field it's a double win. Are you seriously complaining about this? Jake is a long time veteran DL of our club and league, he has a ton he can teach. That doesn't necessarily mean he will be a good coach but excluding his chances of being one based on his playing career doesn't make sense either. Look at Ryan Dinwiddie, guy was a career backup and barely at that and is a great coach. I'm willing to give him a chance, and at the same time get rid of Patterson who was god awful.
-
Dillon Mitchell. What a waste of a signing. My Gawd.

Oh, damn- one less mediocre restauant to not patronize.
My absolute favourite breakfast place is The Original Pancake House. The giant apple pancake is a good excuse to sleep the rest of the morning, but my 16 year old son ate TWO of them in a single sitting on a dare. We didn't see him again until well after lunch.
